2 SEO Has basic SEO been performed? Are there outdated SEO methods? Are keywords being used correctly? Do titles & descriptions need changes? Is there spam or hacking present? Is a sitemap.xml present? Are there errors or duplication issues? Are major SEO changes needed? Current State of SEO Very little paragraph text Each page title needs to be optimized. For example, the title for the homepage is Featured Home Meta keywords are outdated and should be removed Each meta description should be optimized A whole SEO workup is needed Do keyword research Integrate keywords into important areas like headings, titles, meta descriptions, filenames, and paragraph text Add a sitemap.xml and submit to Google Webmaster Tools 2
3 Social Media Is social media being used? Are there recognizable icons? Are the icons easy to see? Do the icons link to the right places? Are the accounts presented properly? Is social being used often eugh? Are messages on topic? Should other platforms be used? Current State of Social Lots of social presences The icons are at the bottom of the page, which is t ideal The icons are all gray, which is also t ideal Doing well on Facebook and Twitter Other accounts feel empty Follow relevant people on all accounts Pinterest will be great for pinning local photos and your own photos of designs/builds Integrate sharing buttons into blog posts 3
4 Funnels Is there a newsletter signup? Is it prominent? What happens after a signup? How many steps to a product sale? Can users find social media icons? Any other conversion goals? Can users easily follow the process? Any glaring issues? mailchimp n/a sort of Current State of Funnels There is a newsletter signup but it s t prominent and users don t kw what they get if they sign up There s clear direction on what a person is supposed to do The only other conversion is the contact form Identify the main conversion type that you want ( signup, phone call, appointment request, etc) Actively direct users toward that goal Make it clear what the point of the website is 4
5 Landing Pages Are there any promotion pages? Is there one for signups? Is there a clear call to action? Is there a clear conversion point? t really t really Current State of Landing Pages There really aren t any Create a landing page for specific promotions Create a landing page for newsletter signups Is there a clear headline? Can A/B testing be done? Is Google Analytics installed? Any other glaring issues? Create landing pages to go with any paid ad campaigns Each landing page should have a clear headline, call to action, and conversion goal 5
6 Mobile Is the site responsive? Can text be read clearly? Current State of Mobile The site is responsive Check out video issues Can images be seen clearly? Is there an easy contact method? Does anything break on mobile? Are users directed to an app instead? Any other glaring issues? The site loads a little slowly on mobile The only contact option being a form is too difficult for mobile use The YouTube video on the homepage isn t loading Add a phone number that will be easy to tap and call 6
7 User Experience Does the site look outdated? Is there a professional appearance? Are there typos or spelling issues? Is there easy navigation? Is there prominent contact info? Is there an active blog? Is there a clear proposition? Is the About page descriptive? Current State of UX The main problem currently is that as a website reader, I don t kw exactly what this company does A blog is present but blog posts yet that I see It looks like there will be featured properties but there aren t any yet Dummy copy on each homepage photo makes the site feel very unfinished Explain in detail what your services are. Use a separate page for each service if necessary Create a separate page for About which explains in detail who you are There could be a directory/index of properties Each property needs details like a map, nice photos, and all relevant info Consider keeping the header navigation more consistent 7
8 Conversion Optimization Is it clear what the site is about? Do users understand what to do? Are services easily understood? Are products easily understood? Is there friction before a conversion? Does the site appear genuine? Is there any social proof? Any other glaring issues? Current State of Conversion Optimization The issues with conversion optimization are the same as the problems outlined on the User Experience page The site appears unfinished and it s unclear what the company actually offers Is this a real estate agency, development company, interior decorator? Re-organize the site, creating separate pages for About, Services, Contact, Properties, and others Make the newsletter signup more prominent and tell people what they get when they subscribe Include pages or blog posts for past projects to demonstrate your capabilities 8
9 Speed Check Is the site too slow? Is something specific causing trouble? Does the site use caching? Is the site slow on mobile? Current State of Speed Not too bad Site might end up imageheavy Install caching Keep an eye on the size of images 9
