1 Design Techniques for Higher Profits Produced by Artistic Resources & Training (ART) 2/2/2014, 8am-2pm United Aqua Group is proud to present this one-day workshop event, which is structured to show professionals how Quality Design can generate a smoother construction process, increased profits and less chaos in the field. Design is composed of several parts, that when combined, can lead to absolutely beautiful environments. The world of architecture and art can use techniques and have access to materials that enhance any project. General Areas of Discussion Custom and refined finish materials Design techniques for elegance Architectural styles and how they affect design Graphic techniques & presentation methods Budgetary concerns Professionals will Learn To: Use principles of architectural design effectively Understand how architectural style affects pool design Selects colors and finishes that are in harmony Capture projects for magazines and promo materials Profit from enhanced design techniques Course Description Don t leave anything on the table as far as items for profit from when designing or building pool projects. A swimming pool professional should never stop at the coping line. In fact, no one should ignore any aspect of a project. There can sometimes be more profit from a fence and gate than there is from the pool and spa alone. With this is the need for quality design and presentation skills to sell quality concepts and ideas. Since perceived art is more expensive than the mundane people will pay for BEAUTY! So, what is needed to really create beauty? First an understanding of art and architecture, coupled with a keen insight into materials and techniques. When this is wrapped up with highly skilled business practices, the result is a professional package that clients will pay more for due to the level of quality provided across the board. This profit is on a different level than bulk pool sales and, if perfected, can minimize the need for a huge infrastructure with the same financial rewards. Design Means Money!
2 Selection of Specific Topics Introduction to Getting Published, Winning Awards & Documenting Projects Great pictures and quality photo enhancing sells project, wins awards and get water professionals on the cover of magazines ever time. Doing so sets you above your competition with clients. Many projects disappear when they are finished because builders often fail to clearly document their work. Students will be introduced to how to manipulate graphic images and digital photographs in Adobe Photoshop. This class introduces students to basic photography skills while also learning to retouch, crop, stitch and color correct many forms of imagery for design and promotional purposes. Learning to be Creative with Underwater Color Why are some pool projects stunning and others look average? Using high-end color finishes in water enironments requires a careful touch and a sound technical understanding of the materials. Learning how artisans make their choices for colors is more important than merely copying them. Cementitious pool finishes are the visual center of all water projects. Reputations are built on being creative and being able to provide clients with the best that the industry has. This class leads the way for pool professionals to understand the steps necessary to being successful with color in water. Introduction to the History of Water in ART & Architecture Some water elements just seem to fit within their environments, yet most fall short of accomplishing that goal. Identifying the style of a setting might be simple, but designing a pool or water feature within that style can be allusive for some. This lecture illustrates how water has influenced art and architecture for the past 5000 years. Also, it shows that the pool industry is really just as old contrary to industry perception. Presenting Skills to Get Project Contracts Convincing clients to sign a construction contract for work is a learned skill that rests with what you say as well as your body language. This interactive session blends the design of a project with its perception by other people. Sometimes what you or your body says is more important that the imagery on a design plan.
