3 ROYAL REHAB COLLEGE Set in the grounds of the acclaimed Royal Rehabilitation Hospital at Ryde, our ultra modern college delivers online and distance training using web links, videos, readings and course information as well as providing face to face tutorials with our Educators, who are all professionals in their field(s) of disability. Students are able to study from home, blending their course work with their personal and working lives. Royal Rehab College has a friendly, experienced team who are ready to support you throughout your course from enrolment to graduation! Readily available support means that you do not feel isolated in your online studies with, access available to the team during business hours. This Course Guide is to be read in conjunction with the Student Handbook. The Student Handbook contains the policies, procedures and general information that apply to all of our nationally recognised training courses. COURSE OUTLINE Welcome to the CHC43115 Certificate IV in Disability! One of our experienced college Educators will be facilitating this course and marking your assessments. Either the Enrolments Coordinator or your Educator will be in touch with you soon. We look forward to working with you, to achieve your qualification. The Certificate IV in Disability is a nationally recognised qualification, which reflects the role of workers in a range of community settings and clients homes, who provide training and support in a manner that empowers people with disabilities to achieve greater levels of independence, selfreliance, community participation and wellbeing. Workers promote a person-centred approach, work without direct supervision and may be required to supervise and/or coordinate a small team. You will be equipped to work in several fields, or to become a specialist in one of those fields. CAREER OPPORTUNITIES Graduates of the Certificate IV in Disability would have the qualifications to successfully progress their careers. Their knowledge and skills would enable them to provide quality Page 3 of 28

4 disability services, within the various job roles mentioned, to the burgeoning client numbers within this area. Applicable job roles may include: Family Support Worker Program/House/Cluster Manager Case Manager Social Educator Disability Support Worker PROGRAM OVERVIEW To receive the national qualification of CHC43115 Certificate IV in Disability, you are required to successfully complete 14 units of competency: Eleven (11) units are core units of competency Three (3) elective units of competency consisting of: o 2 units of competency from a given list, o And a further 1 elective unit that can be imported from any endorsed training package or accredited course these elective units must be relevant to the work outcome. You can choose from 2 options in the course structure, depending on your study, work and lifestyle needs: Online Only: Enrol at any time, and study the Certificate IV in Disability online, allowing you to work at your own pace. Choosing this approach means that you must find a suitable venue or employer in the community (this will be subject to Royal Rehab College approval), and undertake at least 120 hours of work placement over the time of your course, allowing you to gain the skills and knowledge required for you to complete your assessments. The course duration is 18 months. Most students are able to complete this course in approximately 12 months. You may be able to complete sooner if you are able to dedicate more time to your study, however, you will be required to submit completed assessments for one unit of competency per month. If, for some reason you are unable to submit your assessment by the Target End Date for the unit of competency, please contact your trainer to discuss an extension. Failure to do this will result in a monitoring interview with your trainer and/or a possible Withdrawal from that unit. Page 4 of 28

5 OR Intern Program: Enrol in our Royal Rehab College Intern program. This course runs for approximately 6 9 months (this will vary according to holiday periods etc), and offers you the opportunity to undertake your clinical placements (at least 120 hours) within Royal Rehab Lifestyle Support services, with the supervision provided by qualified disability professionals. The Intern program also includes face to face tutorials (which are held on the same days as your clinical placement). If you choose to enrol in the Intern program, there are several intakes each year and you will commence your course on a date designated by Royal Rehab College. Your schedule/timetable will be ed to you separately, but you should be aware that this program requires 1 full day per week of attendance at Royal Rehab to undertake your clinical placements and tutorials. In both options, if you withdraw before you complete the required number of units successfully, or you do not complete your course in the required timeframe, you will receive a Statement of Attainment for those units that you have successfully completed. MODE OF DELIVERY This program is delivered in a combination of on-the-job and off-the-job training and assessment. It combines self paced learning and work based learning. The self paced component is available online. ASSESSMENT All assessments are competency based. The types of assessments used include (but is not limited to) knowledge tests, third party on the job observations and case studies. RECOGNITION If you already have some training, work experience or relevant life experience in the disability field, you may be eligible to have your skills and knowledge recognised, to attain Recognition of Prior Learning or Credit Transfer for one or more units of competency. 6 ENTRY REQUIREMENTS You will need to show that you have adequate Language, Literacy and Numeracy skills to undertake the course and to work as a Disability worker. You will be required to take a basic short quiz during the enrolment process to show this. If you are undertaking the online only program (not the Intern program) and you do not already work in the disability industry, you will need to find a work placement (120 hours) at a workplace that is approved by Royal Rehab College. ENROLMENT PROCEDURE AND REQUIRED DOCUMENTATION The enrolment process and documentation needed are as follows: When you complete the Application for Enrolment form on the website, a member of the Royal Rehab College s enrolment team will contact you to take you through the procedure. Documentation required: A completed signed Application for Enrolment form Completed LLN test (as part of your application form enrolment) Completed consent documentation (if you are applying for Smart and Skilled funding) Certified copy of photo ID Your Unique Student Identifier (USI). Please see the instruction Fact Sheet on our website Certified copies of any previous qualifications and statements of attainment, for which you are seeking Credit/RPL Completed application for Credit/RPL (if applicable) Payment Options Form If you are undertaking the Internship program, you will also need to: Have an interview with one of our educators very informal, to ensure this program is the best fit for you and your learning needs. On acceptance into the program, you will need to pay a $100 deposit, to hold your place for the next program. This will be deducted from the total cost if/when you commence the program. 7 STUDY MATERIALS/OTHER INCLUSIONS You will be provided with the appropriate support materials that you will need to be able to complete the course. Interns will be provided with a college shirt and photo name tag (these are included in the course cost). ON-THE-JOB TRAINING The emphasis of this Certificate IV course is on learning by doing. In the workplace this means you should use the work you are doing as a means of embedding your new learning and practising your skills. If you are not currently employed as a disability worker you will need to arrange work placement/experience or volunteer work with a disability facility for a total of at least 120 hours, in order to complete the on the job component of this course. There is a workplace training checklist that will assist you to see clearly what is needed as part of this work experience, and your placement must be approved by Royal Rehab College before you commence. We will send you a form that the employer needs to complete. The on-the-job training will be conducted by your workplace supervisor/s. You will need to arrange your work placement for 1 day per week to be able to complete the practical component of the course. As part of your work placement, you may need to provide a number of things to the host organisation. The requirements will vary between organisations, but they could include: Police Check (compulsory) Working with Children Check Health Assessment (please Appendix A for an example of the Royal Rehab Health Assessment). You will be responsible for obtaining these, and also for any cost incurred. TUTORIALS Interns will undertake tutorials as part of their clinical placement days, thus requiring attendance at the college only 1 day per week. Page 7 of 28

8 AVENUES OF SUPPORT Workplace Colleagues - You may wish to select a workplace colleague (peer) with whom you can talk about your training, and discuss work samples or situations that provide evidence of your existing or new skills. Educator - Your Educator is able to assist you with any overall course-related issues or concerns by phone or . During the training you will have the opportunity to communicate with the Educator who will your monitor progress through the course. Workplace Supervisor - Your supervisor can assist you with support and/or study requirements in the workplace. STUDY WORKLOAD Online only - It is expected that you will complete this course within approx. 18 months. Your assessments should be submitted as you complete each unit. Taking more or less time will depend on individual circumstances. You have up to 18 months from enrolment to complete the Certificate IV in Disability. Intern Program - It is expected that you will complete the course in your Intern program timeframe. If you foresee any difficulties with this, please speak to your Educator, before there is a problem. STARTING DATES If you are an online only student, you can enrol at any time, and get started quickly. If you choose the Intern Program option, there are a number of scheduled intakes per year. Please contact Royal Rehab College to find out when the next available start date is. CORE COMPETENCIES (ALL UNITS MUST BE COMPLETED BY BOTH ONLINE ONLY STUDENTS AND INTERN PROGRAM STUDENTS) CHCDIV001 Work with diverse people This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to work respectfully with people from diverse social and cultural groups and situations, including Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people. This unit applies to all workers. CHCLEG003 Manage legal and ethical compliance This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to research information about compliance and ethical practice responsibilities, and then to develop and monitor policies and procedures to meet those responsibilities. This unit applies to people working in roles with managerial responsibility for legal and ethical compliance in small to medium sized organisations. There may or may not be a team of workers involved. HLTAAP001 Recognise healthy body systems This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to work with basic information about the human body and to recognise and promote ways to maintain healthy functioning of the body. This unit applies to any worker who needs to use and interpret information that includes references to client anatomy and physiology. CHCCCS015 Provide individualised support This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to organise, provide and monitor support services within the limits established by an individualised plan. The individualised plan refers to the Page 9 of 28

10 support or service provision plan developed for the individual accessing the service and may have many different names in different organisations. CHCDIS002 Follow established person-centred behavior supports This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to implement behaviour support strategies outlined in an individualised behaviour support plan for a person with disability. CHCDIS005 Develop and provide person-centred service responses This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to develop, implement and monitor service responses with a person with disability. Work is undertaken within a legislative and ethical framework to ensure the provision of high quality, person-centred service delivery which supports the person s aspirations, needs, rights and interests. This unit applies to workers in varied disability service contexts. Work performed requires a range of well developed, person-centred skills where some discretion and judgement is required and workers will take responsibility for their own outputs. CHCDIS007 Facilitate the empowerment of people with a disability This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to facilitate the empowerment of people with disability to deliver rights based services using a person-centred approach. It should be carried out in conjunction with individualised plans. This unit applies to workers in varied disability contexts. CHCDIS008 Facilitate community participation and social inclusion This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to develop and facilitate person-centred strategies for participation in various community settings, functions and activities to enhance the psychosocial well being and lifestyle of a person with disability. This unit applies to workers in varied disability contexts. Work performed requires a range of well developed, person-centred skills where some discretion and judgement is required and workers will take responsibility for their own outputs. CHCDIS009 Facilitate ongoing skills development using a person-centred approach This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to plan, implement and review formal and informal ongoing skills development, in collaboration with a person with disability and incorporate into the person s individualised plan. CHCDIS010 Provide person-centred services to people with disability with complex needs This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to provide person-centred services to people with disability with complex or special support needs under the supervision of a relevant professional. This unit applies to workers in varied disability contexts. Work performed requires a range of well developed, person-centred skills where some discretion and judgement is required and workers will take responsibility for their own outputs. HLTWHS002 Follow safe work practices for direct client care This unit describes the skills and knowledge required for a worker to participate in safe work practices to ensure their own health and safety, and that of others in work environments that involve caring directly for clients. It has a focus on maintaining safety of the worker, the people being supported and other community members. This unit applies to all workers who require knowledge of workplace health and safety (WHS) to carry out their own work, in both centre-based and home-based service provision. Page 11 of 28

12 ELECTIVE UNITS OF COMPETENCY (FOR BOTH ONLINE AND INTERNSHIP PROGRAMS) Students will also study three (3) of the following electives. The content and optimum selection of these should be discussed before enrolment CHCCCS011 Meet personal support needs This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to determine and respond to an individual s physical personal support needs and to support activities of daily living. This unit applies to workers who provide support to people according to an established individualised plan in any community services context. Work performed requires some discretion and judgement and may be carried out under regular direct or indirect supervision. HLTHPS006 Assist clients with medication This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to prepare for and provide medication assistance, and complete medication documentation. It also involves supporting a client to selfadminister medication. This unit applies to community services and health workers with authority in their state or territory to assist with the administration of medication. CHCHCS001 Provide home and community support services This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to work in a home support environment and community settings with individuals, family members, staff, visitors, suppliers and others to meet established work requirements. This unit applies to workers in a community services context. Work performed requires some discretion and judgement and is carried out under regular direct or indirect supervision. CHCCCS025 Support relationships with carers and families This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to work positively with the carers and families of people using the service based on an understanding of their support needs. This unit applies to workers across a range of community services contexts. CHCAGE001 Facilitate the empowerment of older people This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to respond to the goals and aspirations of older people and provide support services in a manner that focuses on improving health outcomes and quality of life, using a person-centred approach. 13 This unit applies to support workers in residential or community contexts. CHCAGE005 Provide support to people living with dementia This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to provide person-centred care and support to people living with dementia. It involves following and contributing to an established individual plan. This unit applies to workers in a residential or community context, including family homes. Work performed requires some discretion and judgement and may be carried out under regular direct or indirect supervision. CHCCCS020 Respond effectively to behaviours of concern This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to respond effectively to behaviours of concern of people. Skills are associated with handling difficult incidents rather than managing ongoing behaviour difficulties. The unit applies to workers in any context exposed to difficult and challenging behaviour. STAND ALONE ACCREDITED UNITS OF COMPETENCY Some students will simply want to undertake a specific unit of competency or a skill set from the qualification in order to fill a gap in their knowledge or maybe to allow them to progress in their current job. This is fine, as long as there are no prerequisite units of competency to the unit(s) that you wish to complete (if there are prerequisite units of competency, we will need to meet those requirements). Royal Rehab College does not have allocated NSW Smart and Skilled subsidised funding for single units or skills sets. Also, sometimes students may like to obtain additional units of competency to the ones in their chosen stream of the qualification, if this is the case, please speak to your educator you will need to pay extra for these units of competency (this cost will not be subsidised by NSW Government Smart and Skilled funding). The cost for single accredited units of competency is $ per unit, payable on enrolment. If you are an organisation looking to have a group of your employees trained in a certain area (either accredited or non-accredited training, please contact us to discuss your needs). You will have 6 months from your commencement date to complete the single unit of competency. If you are doing more than 1, or if you are doing a skill set, your Educator will advise you of the date that you will need to complete by. Normally it would not be more than 12 months. Refunds will only be issued for units not commenced. If you wish to enquire about undertaking a single unit or skill set, please contact the college. Page 13 of 28

14 FEES/CHARGES/REFUNDS The costs for your Certificate IV in Disability course (online) are as follows: Online only student fees (not applicable to the Intern program) 2016 Full Fee for Service Students = $6340 Please note: Royal Rehab College is NOT able to offer Certificate IV in Disability students NSW Government Smart and Skilled subsidised funding for online only and Internship courses. NSW New Entrant Traineeships ONLY NSW Department of Education Smart and Skilled subsidised students 2016 = $6340 The amount that you have to pay is: $1000 The rest of the cost will be subsidised by NSW Government. Please see further details on Smart and Skilled in this Course Guide. This payment may vary depending on your number of previous qualifications, and any loadings applicable to your enrolment. Payment Options Full cost upfront: You may choose to pay the full student/employer contribution cost on enrolment or Payment plan: You may pay the student/employer contribution cost over 18 equal monthly installments (in advance). If you are eligible for Smart and Skilled funding, you will receive a Notification of Enrolment from us, which is a confirmation from the NSW Department of Education. Intern Program student fees (not applicable to the online only program) 2016 Intern Program Student fees = $9190 Course cost includes: Learning materials and assessments for the 14 units of competency Face to face tutorials at Royal Rehab College across 14 weeks 120 hours clinical placement at Royal Rehab Lifestyle Support Supported learning and mentoring from qualified disability professionals(your Educators) via phone and contact Web links to relevant materials and videos Cost Breakdown: $6340 course cost and $2850 clinical placement cost This cost may be paid in one of two ways: Full cost upfront: You may choose to pay the full course cost on enrolment or Payment plan: You may pay the course cost over 8 equal monthly instalments. OTHER COSTS You are required to cover the costs of your work placement (travel, etc). In addition to the course fees, you will have to: Have access to a computer with internet access Access to a printer/multi page scanner. It is strongly preferred that you upload your assessments to the online platform, but if you are not able to, you can print and then post them to us Page 15 of 28

16 A USB storage device (to ensure that you have a back up copy of your work, should your computer breakdown. Any costs incurred in gaining your medical assessment, police check etc required for your work placement. If you are supplied with text book(s) for your study, you are required to return these (in good condition) to the College, otherwise you will be charged $100 (to be paid before you receive your Qualification or Statement of Attainment. Please see our Schedule of Fees on our website for our full list of fees and charges. REFUNDS If you choose to withdraw from the course, you may apply to Royal Rehab College for a refund for any units of competency that you have paid for in advance, but not commenced. Example 1 Full payment on enrolment: If you paid for the full course - $6340 on enrolment and withdrew after you had commenced and/or completed 6 units of competency the following amount would be refunded to you: The Certificate IV in Disability contains 14 units of competency. Therefore, each unit of competency = $ Your refund for the 8 units of competency that you have not commenced would be $ Example 2 Payment using the Payment Plan If you had been paying by the payment plan each month for 6 months, but had only commenced 2 units of competency, the following amount would be refunded to you: The Certificate IV in Disability contains 14 units of competency. Therefore, each unit of competency = $ each 2 units of competency = $ You would have already paid $ Your refund would be: $ However, you must withdraw from the course formally (by or by completing the withdrawal form on the website) and, Royal Rehab College must receive your application for refund form within 6 months of your withdrawal. The same process applies (using the relevant amounts) if your training is subsidised by NSW Department of Education s Smart and Skilled funding initiative. Page 16 of 28

If you would like to know if you qualify for government funding (only applicable if you are a New Entrant Trainee), please read the funding information on the following pages and go to the Smart and Skilled website. Then, if you think you may be eligible, send your completed registration form in, and we will check (don t worry, your enrolment won t be confirmed at this stage. Once enrolment is confirmed, you will be asked to pay either your full payment or your first payment plan instalment. 18 NSW DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION SMART AND SKILLED SUBSIDISED FUNDING INFORMATION (Royal Rehab College is only eligible to offer Smart and Skilled funding for the Certificate IV in Disability if you are a New Entrant Trainee) Smart and Skilled is a reform of the NSW Vocational Education and Training (VET) system. It s helping people in NSW get the skills they need to find a job and advance their careers. Royal Rehab College has been successful in securing a contract with the NSW Department of Education to deliver and assess a range of qualifications in the Sydney metropolitan region, and other NSW regional and rural areas. The information that is in this Course Guide should be read along with Royal Rehab College s Student Handbook, which contains our policies and procedures, rights and responsibilities, along with other general information. Smart and Skilled Apprenticeships and Traineeships Apprenticeships and traineeships combine work-based training with an employer and formal training from a training provider. They are established under training contracts between the employer and the apprentice or trainee and are regulated by government. They're a great way to be paid for work, learn and earn a qualification. All NSW apprentices and most new-entrant trainees are eligible for a government subsidy under Smart and Skilled for the qualification that supports their apprenticeship or traineeship. Apprentices, eligible new-entrant trainees and their employers can choose an approved Smart and Skilled training provider that best meets their needs. Their choice of training provider does not affect the fee that is paid. The fee they pay is the same regardless of which approved Smart and Skilled training provider they choose. Rather than paying yearly or by semester, apprentices and trainees under Smart and Skilled pay a fee for the qualification. They may still pay in instalments over a number of years, but the fee is an amount for the qualification, fixed at the time the apprentice or trainee commences. 19 Training Plan After you have been enrolled, your trainer will work with you to develop a training plan. This will be completed within 12 weeks of your enrolment and will include: The qualification name and code The units of competency that you and your trainer have decided on names and codes The nominal hours of each unit of competency (these are used as a guide only) If you have been granted any Credit Transfer (from previous qualifications), or if you are going to be applying for Recognition of Prior learning (RPL) for any units of competency both of these events will affect the student fee. The delivery modes for each Unit of Competency Details of any customisation to the learning and/or resources Learning strategies and resources Names and contact details of the people who will be involved with your learning and assessment. Enrolment When you enrol with Royal Rehab College you will be asked for a number of things: 1. Personal details these include information about where you were born, your main language, your previous learning etc. These details are kept securely in line with Royal Rehab College s and Personal information policy. The Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA) is entitled to collect this information for the purpose of auditing participation and monitoring and reporting training outcomes. The information may also be used by the National Centre for Vocational Education Research (NCVER). 2. Identification this is so we know that you are who you say you are 3. Notification of Enrolment Royal Rehab College is required by the NSW Department of Education to notify them when a student enrols. You will need to give consent to the Department of Education for the use of your student information by signing or electronically accepting (ticking a box) a consent form which will be with your enrolment documents. 21 Fees, Charges and Refunds A copy of the Smart and Skilled Fee Administration Policy is available on our website, and the specific details of your fees, charges and refunds are in this Course Guide. Concessions Concession fees are discounted fees for disadvantaged students. Concession fees are a flat fee for the qualification level. They are available if you are on any of the following Commonwealth Benefits: Aged Pension Carer Payment Exceptional Circumstances relief payment Family Tax Benefit A (maximum rate) Newstart Sickness Allowance Veteran s Affairs pensions Widow Allowance Wife Pension Austudy Disability Support Farm Household Parenting Payment (single) Special Benefit Veteran s children s education scheme Widow B Pension Youth Allowance You will need to supply the following proof: A letter from Department of Human Services (Centrelink) confirming receipt of the benefit. Exemptions You may qualify for an exemption from the student fee if: You are Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander, for which you will need to supply the following proof: Australian Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders prove their status and eligibility for a fee exemption through descent, self identification and community identification. Students will need to declare their status and be able to provide documentary evidence of community identification, if required. You have a disability for which you will need to supply the following proof: A letter from Centrelink confirming receipt of the Disability Support Pension. The letter should clearly show the Centrelink Reference Number (CRN); or A current Disability Pensioner Concession Card that shows the CRN; or A current income statement for the Disability Support Pension, which clearly shows that income is for the Disability Pension and also shows the CRN; or Any other evidence that clearly shows the CRN and confirms receipt of the Disability Support Pension; or Documentary evidence of support needs do to the student s disability. The evidence must be a letter or statement from: A medical practitioner; or An appropriate government agency such as Veteran s Affairs or a TAFE NSW teacher consultant (for students with a disability), a school counsellor or special education coordinator, Centrelink, a Disability Service Provider, or a Job Capacity Assessor; or A specialist allied health professional (including a rehabilitation counsellor, psychologist, speech pathologist, or occupational therapist. An individual who is seeking an exemption as a dependent child, spouse or partner of someone who is receiving a Commonwealth Disability Pension must provide documentary evidence that Centrelink recognises the individual as a dependant. The evidence should clearly show the CRN of the Disability Pension recipient. Withdrawals, deferments, transfers (Smart and Skilled) If at any time during your course you wish to withdraw, defer or transfer, you need to us as soon as possible at [email protected] explaining what it is you wish to do, the date it will be applicable and the date of return (if deferring). If you wish to transfer to another Registered Training Organisation, you need to tell us the name of the organisation so that we can start the transfer process. If you wish to defer, we can only permit up to 12 month deferral Page 22 of 28

23 There will be no cost to withdraw, defer or transfer. You will be refunded for any units that you have paid for, but not yet been issued to you (please see refunds). If you decide to withdraw before you have been issued your first unit of competency, you will be issued with a full refund Withdrawal without Penalty Once you have been issued with your first Unit of Competency, the Withdrawal without Penalty period is over. Refunds For details on refunds, please see the refund details in the specific Course Guide. Replacement Certificates and/or Statements of Attainment A Fee of $50 will be charged if you require a replacement Certificate or Statement of Attainment. You will need to complete the relevant form which is available on our website. All persons working with the following high risk client groups or in the following high risk clinical areas are automatically considered to be Category A, regardless of duties. Category B Does not require protection against the specified infectious diseases as level of risk is no greater than that of the general community Does not work with the high risk client groups or in the high risk clinical areas listed above. No direct physical contact with patients/clients, deceased persons, blood, body substances or infectious material or surfaces/equipment that might contain these. Normal work location is not in a clinical area, e.g. administrative staff not working in a ward environment, food services staff in kitchens. Only attends clinical areas infrequently and for short periods of time e.g. visits a ward occasionally on administrative duties; is a maintenance contractor undertaking work in a clinical area. Although such persons may come into incidental contact with patients (e.g. in elevators, cafeteria, etc) this would not normally constitute a greater level of risk than for the general community. Acceptable evidence of protection against specified infectious diseases includes: a written record of vaccination signed by the medical practitioner, and/or serological confirmation of protection, and/or other evidence, as specified in the table below. NB: the health facility may require further evidence of protection, e.g. serology, if the vaccination record does not contain vaccine brand and batch or official certification from vaccination provider (eg clinic/practice stamp) 2. TST screening is required if the person was born in a country with a high incidence of TB, or has resided for a cumulative time of 3 months or longer in a country with a high incidence of TB, as listed at: 3. In certain specialised clinical settings, for example, in transplant, oncology or neonatal wards, the health facility may require serological evidence of protection (in addition to evidence of vaccination or other evidence) to ensure that the risk to vulnerable patients is minimised.
