2 St. Thomas College (Autonomous), Thrissur is the oldest Catholic College in Kerala. It was established in 1919 as a Second Grade College affiliated to the University of Madras. It was the earliest First Grade College in the erstwhile princely State of Cochin and is, at present, one of the largest and most reputed of the Arts and Science Colleges in Kerala. The College is now affiliated to the University of Calicut. It is managed by the Archdiocese of Thrissur. At the national level, the college has been reaccredited with 3.58 on four point scale at A Grade. College enjoys a unique status in the University of Calicut for high academic results, excellence in sports and cultural activities. The UGC granted Autonomous Status to the College from onwards and Sri. Oommen Chandy, the Hon ble Chief Minister of Kerala formally declared the same on at a solemn function held here. 3 FACILITIES Library: It is obligatory for all the students to become members of the College Library. One lakh books, in three separate sections- General, Science & Arts-are available. Laboratories: All the science departments are with P.G. The laboratories are well equipped to meet the current demand. Seminar Halls: Provide modern facilities to conduct seminars and conferences. Hostel: Hostel facility is provided to boys/men by the college. Co-operative Store: Stationery articles are available here. Canteen: A good canteen for refreshments is maintained Outdoor & Indoor Stadiums: The Outdoor and Indoor stadiums provide necessary ambience for State, National and International achievements in sports. 5 DOCTORAL STUDIES Application for Ph.D. registration will be accepted by the Research Supervisors in consultation with the Research Council and as per the rules and regulations of the University of Calicut. Strikes are strictly prohibited. Strict action will be taken as per the law against the students who involve in such offences. Ragging, Substance Abuse and Mobile Phones are banned in the campus. All other rules printed in the College Manual are binding to the students. The Candidate provisionally selected must bring his/her parent / guardian at the time of the interview.

6 APPLICATION PROCEDURE (UG) Candidates must meet all eligibility requirements. Prospectus together with the Application Form is available at the college website. INSTRUCTIONS TO THE CANDIDATES:- Step 1: Requirements for Online Registration: 1. Please read the Prospectus available in our Website carefully before filling up the Application Form. 2. Candidate must have a valid id. If he/she does not have an id, create one. 3. All correspondence regarding the Admission Process will be communicated to this id. 4. A scanned copy of his/her Passport size Photo (within 6 months) having the size of 200pxl * 150pxl. 5. Photocopies of the SSLC, HSE/Equivalent Certificate. Step 2: Online Registration Process: 1. Visit College Website (stthomas.ac.in) and click Admission 2015 link. 2. New user click the Register button (already registered students give the id and password for editing or printing the Application Form). 3. New user after filling up the logging details (NAME, ID, PHONE NO. & DOB) - will get the password through his/her id. Use this password for further login process. 4. Please fill up the Form carefully and upload the scanned copy of the Passport size Photo (the Application will be rejected, if your entries are not correct). 5. Please verify all the entered data carefully and submit the Application Form. Once submitted, the Application Form cannot be edited. 6. Take the print out of the submitted Application Form and the Chalan 7. RC candidates from Thrissur Diocese can select Seat Reservation as RC THRISSUR DIOCESE for the purpose of Community Quota and should get it certified from the concerned Parish Priest in the prescribed space of the Application Form for considering under the Community Quota. Community Quota has no other separate form. 8. Management Quota Forms are available at the College Office. 9. Submit the Application Form along with the self attested copies of SSLC Mark List, HSE Mark List (both sides), Caste Certificates for Reservation Categories, other relevant Certificates for eligible weightage of marks (NSS, NCC, PH, Sports, Ex-Servicemen, etc.), Chalan and Fee (Rs. 150/- for General Candidates and Rs. 100/- for SC/ST

7 candidates) to the College Office on or before the last date of the submission of the Application Form (9.30 am to 4.30 pm on all working days). 10. One can also send the Application Form along with the above mentioned documents with a DD for the above said amount to the College Office in the following address The Principal, St. Thomas College (Autonomous), Thrissur ". Please write Application for UG Programme 2015 on the top of the cover. The Application Form should reach the College Office either as Registered Post or as Speed Post on or before the last date of the submission. 11. The last date for the receipt of the Application Form will be 15 days from the declaration of the result of the Higher Secondary Examinations of the Kerala State. The list of the selected candidates will be published according to the rules of the University subject to the terms and conditions put by the Government. Candidates will have to remit the fees stipulated by the University and the Government for Aided and the Self-Financing Programmes. The following documents are to be produced at the time of Admission: 1. The Original Mark lists of SSLC (For verification), HSE/Equivalent Certificate and other relevant Documents (Eligibility Certificate from other State / University, Caste Certificate for Reservation, Income Certificate for Fee Concession, NCC, NSS, PH, Sports, Ex- Servicemen, etc.) 2. TC from the former Institution 3. Conduct Certificate within 6 months 4. 3 Passport size Photos 5. Tuition fees and other fees mentioned in the intimation letter by or post NB Please take the sufficient number of photocopies of the Certificates and keep them for further use if any, before submitting the Originals to the College. The submitted Certificates will be returned only after the completion of the Programme or at the time of issuing the TC. FEES CONCESSIONS AND STIPENDS Students of Scheduled Castes / Tribes or other Backward Communities are eligible for fee concession under various schemes of the Government. Those eligible for fee concession must produce the Community/Income certificate of the parents from the Village Officer at the time of Admission. If the student discontinues studies he/she shall refund the Scholarship or Concession amount received, before obtaining the Certificates.

8 BONUS MARKS Applicants eligible for Bonus Marks attach copies of relevant certificates. (1) EX-SERVICEMEN: For Degree Programmes, tick in the box only if the applicant is son/daughter of a (i) Jawan or Ex-Serviceman or (ii) BSF Personal Killed or disabled in action, and for Post Graduate Programmes, if the applicant is son/daughter of a Service Personal awarded with any of the Vir Chakra Series, or Killed in Action. (2) DIFFERENTIALLY ABLED: For Degree & Post Graduate Programmes, if the applicant is physically handicapped, tick in the box and attach copy of the relevant certificate issued by the Medical Board specifying the amount of handicap. (3) NCC: If the applicant has obtained 75% attendance in NCC in the institution last attended tick in the box. For Degree Course, if the applicant holds any certificate (A,B,C) in NCC, attach a copy of the same. (4) NSS: if the applicant has put in 240 hrs of National Service Scheme work in the institution last attended, tick in the box. (5) SPORTS/GAMES: For Degree Programmes, if the applicant has represented in sports & games at the State, National and International level tick in the box. For Post Graduate Programmes, if the applicant was a member of any University Team or Winner in any individual item at the University Meet, tick in the box. (6) SOCIAL SERVICE: For Post Graduate Programmes, if the applicant has successfully completed Compulsory Social Service scheme of the Calicut University, tick in the box. COMPUTER APPLICATION B.B.A. Candidates who have passed (eligible for higher studies) the HSE of the Kerala State Board of Higher Secondary Examination or any other examination recognized as equivalent examination with Mathematics/ Computer Science / Computer Application / Information Practices as one of the subjects eligible for admissions to BCA courses (U.O.No. GAI/J1/2453/1997 dated and GAI/J1/1597/2005 dated ). Candidates who have passed (eligible for higher studies) the HSE of the Kerala State Board of Higher Secondary Examination or any other examination recognized as equivalent examination thereto, with not less than 50% is eligible for admissions. A concession of 3 GPV will be given to OBC/ OEC candidates. The SC/ST candidates need get only a pass. (U.O. B.Com. FINANCE / BANKING & INSURANCE Candidates who have passed (eligible for higher studies) the HSE of the Kerala State Board of Higher Secondary Examination or any other examination recognized as equivalent examination, is the eligibility for admissions to the B.Com. degree course. Candidate have not take alteast one commerce subject for Higher Secondary or an equivalent examination should get atleast 45% (in 6 subjects) in that examination to become eligible. A concession of 3 GPV will be given to OBC/OEC candidates. The SC/ST candidates need get only a pass. (U.O.
