1 Guide to iconnect Enabling interac(on and collabora(on in real (me!

2 STEP 1: Join our community Join our community of educa2on professionals on And create a profile! Tell others about yourself, your role, interests and professional ac2vi2es. Profile your organiza2on, upload and share projects and network with others!

3 STEP 2: Create an iconnect session 1. Enter the topic of your session 3. View session details 2. Invite par2cipants either from the Interface community or by entering their s 4. Start your session!

4 STEP 3: Manage your iconnect session Your role in the session determines your permissions in iconnect HOSTS CAN: Specify each aoendee s role, including selec2ng other aoendees to be the hosts Set up a mee2ng, invite guests, add content to the library, share content, and add or edit layouts in a mee2ng room Start, stop, join, and leave audio conferences Start and stop broadcas2ng audio into a mee2ng room Create and manage small group breakout rooms within a mee2ng Perform all the tasks that a presenter or par2cipant can. PRESENTERS CAN: Share content already loaded into the mee2ng room from the library and share content from their computer Share their screen with all aoendees, chat, and broadcast live audio and video Mute and unmute audio broadcasts on their computers. PARTICIPANTS CAN: View the content that the presenter is sharing, hear and see the presenter s audio and video broadcast, and use text chat Mute and unmute audio broadcasts on their computers.

5 Inside iconnect: Pods Content is displayed in pods panels that contain various type of media. Individual pods contain a list of those aoending the mee2ng, notes, chat, files, weblinks and video. Hosts can show and hide, add, delete, rearrange and organise pods. Hosts can add pods to aid their presenta2on. Pods can be re- named, moved and re- sized to suit your needs.

6 The Menu Bar Α Β Menu bar differs for different types of users: A: the host sees the MeeHng, Layouts, Pods, Audio and Help B: the presenter or par2cipant sees only the MeeHng and Help menus At the far right edge of the menu bar, the coloured bar indicates the connec2on status of the session. Messages and warnings also appear in this corner. A red circle in the menu bar will indicate that the host is recording the mee2ng

7 MeeHng Change your own role Alternate the session s preferences Record the mee2ng End the mee2ng Invite new par2cipants to the session Click Compose e- mail and an will appear in your with the link to your iconnect session Simply add aoendees by entering their e- mail addresses in and send out the invita2ons When aoendees arrive to the mee2ng, a no2fica2on window may appear asking you to accept or decline their request to join

8 InteracHng with your audience Interact with others - Use emo2cons, polling, Q&A, chat also gives you 2me to breathe J Raise your hand to raise a ques2on, agree or disagree with an argument, give an applause! Ask ques2ons that require a response - use interac2ve whiteboard, chat, or audio Upload and share documents, presenta2ons, projects, your screen

9 Layouts 1. Sharing 2. Discussion 3. CollaboraHon iconnect gives you 3 default layout templates to choose from by selecting them from the Menu Bar or in the right hand side of the window. The default templates are: Sharing, Discussion and Collaboration. Alternatively, you can create and save your own layouts by clicking on Layouts > Create New Layout. Layouts can be optimised for a specific task, such as a workshop, classroom or standard meeting by adding and customizing as many pods as you may need.

10 STEP 4: ASer the session Download reports to measure the success of your session Click the Manage MeeHng InformaHon link and then follow the Reports tab. You will be given the following op2ons: Summary Aggregate mee2ng info including: Name; URL for viewing; the last 2me that any invitee entered the mee2ng room (Most Recent Session); number of people invited; number of those who aoended; greatest number of people who entered the room at any one 2me (Peak Users) By ATendees: Lists the name and e- mail address of each par2cipant as well as the 2me they entered and led the session By Sessions: Lists the start and end 2me of each session, session number and number of aoendees By QuesHons: Lists each poll by session number, number and ques2on
