2 Positive Coaching Alliance (PCA) is a national non-profit developing Better Athletes, Better People by working to provide all youth and high school athletes a positive, character-building youth sports experience. Since its 1998 launch at Stanford University by Founder and CEO Jim Thompson, PCA has impacted more than 5 million youth athletes. PCA reaches youth and high school sport leaders, coaches, athletes, parents, and officials through partnerships with schools and youth sports organizations nationwide that comprise live workshops, online courses, Thompson's books, and e-communications, providing free Tips and Tools. At the center of our work are three models: The Double-Goal Coach, who strives to win while also pursuing the more-important goal of life lessons through sports; The Second-Goal Parent, who concentrates on life lessons, while letting coaches and athletes focus on competing; and The Triple-Impact Competitor, who strives to impact sport on three levels by improving oneself, teammates and the game as a whole. Our allies include a National Advisory Board of top athletes, coaches, academicians and business leaders; prominent national youth sports organizations; and corporations and foundations that support our work across the country. Launched as an official chapter in September 2010, PCA-Chicago currently partners with over 80 schools and youth sports organizations in the Chicagoland area. In 2014, PCA- Chicago trained over 5,000 coaches through live workshops, reaching over 50,000 youth participating in sports. In addition to our partnerships with schools and youth sports organization, we have also awarded $70,000 worth of college scholarships since 2010, to student-athletes that best exhibit PCA s Triple-Impact Competitor model.

3 PCA s Windy City Shootout is a corporate 3-on-3 basketball tournament for adults, featuring companies and individuals who support Positive Coaching Alliance. Supporters of this great event come from leading investment banking, private equity, venture capital, law, accounting, technology, real estate, media, entertainment, and more. Over the past four shootouts, close to $80,00 has been raised to support PCA programs in Chicago. The tournament brings together top community and business leaders in a forum that exemplifies the message of Positive Coaching: a tournament that is highly competitive in the level of play, but where the ultimate goal is honoring the game and supporting Positive Coaching Alliance. TOURNAMENT FORMAT Games are 3-on-3, half-court. Each team guaranteed at least 4 games All games will have one (1) referee and one (1) scorekeeper. 15 minute games, with the clock stopping in the final minute Round-robin format, followed by single-elimination bracket Pools will be pre-determined by Tournament Director (depending on entries, pools may be organized by industry, ie: Law firm Pool, Finance Pool Industry pride on the line!) 5 players/team (3 playing at one time) Every player must play in each game-unless injured Seeding tie breaker will go to head-to-head result, and then fewest points allowed If you need help filling out your roster, please let us know and we will provide players
