In cntrast, ecnmically develped cuntries, such as the USA, UK, Italy, Denmark and thers use cleaner cking fuels. als displays a striking ruralurban dichtmy in its chice f cking fuels. Of these, percentage share f firewd, LPG/PNG and crp residue is seen in highest prprtin fr ttal and rural areas. In urban areas, the highest use f cking fuel is firewd, LPG/PNG and kersene. The use f firewd as cking fuel at all level is 49. percent while the share fr EAG states ranges frm 34.7 t 8.8 percent; where Madhya ranks secnd at 66.4 percent. In the cntext f LPG/ PNG, the all figure is 28.5 percent with the EAG states ranging frm 8.1 t 44.2 percent; where Madhya is in furth psitin at 18.2 percent. With regard t crp residue as cking fuel, the natinal percentage share is 8.9 percent while the EAG percentage share ranges frm.9 t 32.5 percent; where Madhya ranks fifth at 5.6 percent. In the cntext f use f LPG/PNG, the state average is 18.2 percent where the percentage share f the divisins ranges frm 8.8 t 28.5 percent; with Rewa at the minimum and Indre at the maximum. With regard t crp residue as cking fuel, the state figure is 5.6 percent where the divisinal share ranges frm 1. t 21.6 percent; with least dependence n crp residue in Shahdl and maximum dependence in Chambal. At the district level, husehlds shw maximum dependence n firewd, LPG/PNG and cwdung cake as type f cking fuel. Districts which rely the mst n firewd as main surce f cking fuel include Dindri (94.8%), Mandla(9.8%) and Balaghat(9.6%) while lw ranking districts include Indre (18.7%), Bhpal (27.%) and Gwalir(3.%). With regard t LPG/PNG, Indre (67.8%), Bhpal (57.7%) and Gwalir (44.7%) shw maximum dependence while least is registered in Dindri(2.7%), Sidhi (4.%) and Panna (5.7%). Rewa (36.2%), Datia (32.3%) and Ashknagar (28.6%) rely the mst n cwdung cake fr the purpse f cking fuel whereas Harda and Balaghat at (.1 percent), and Burhanpur (.2%) depends the least. In rural Madhya, the dependence n firewd fr the purpse f cking fuel is 78.6 percent while the share f the divisins ranges frm 57. t 95.7 percent; Chambal at the minimum and Shahdl at the maximum. In the cntext f use f cwdung cake, rural Madhya reprts 9.9 percent while the range fr rural areas f the divisins spans frm.8 t 26. percent; where least dependence is registered in Shahdl and highest in Gwalir. With regard t dependence n crp residue, the state rural average is 7.1 percent whereas the percentage share f the divisins ranges frm 1.1 t 25.8 percent; with Shahdl at the minimum and Chambal at the maximum. At the district level, rural husehlds shw maximum dependence n firewd, cwdung cake and crp residue as type f cking fuel. Districts which rely the mst n firewd as main surce f cking fuel include Dindri (96.8%), Umaria and Mandla at 96.5 percent while lw ranking districts include Indre (43.9%), Khargne (West Nimar) (44.2%) and Gwalir (47.6%). With regard t cwdung cake, Gwalir (41.2%), Rewa (4.9%) and Datia (38.5%) shw maximum dependence while least is registered in Harda and Balaghat at.1 percent, and Burhanpur at.2 percent. Khargne (West Nimar) (47.5%), Mrena (38.3%) and Barwani (29.%) rely the mst n crp residue fr the purpse f cking fuel whereas Balaghat (.5%), Mandla and Anuppur at.6 percent depend the least. (Please refer annexure fr district rural figures) Dependence n LPG/PNG as cking fuel in urban Madhya is 6.5 percent while the share fr the urban areas f the divisins ranges frm 42.6 t 74.6 percent; with least dependence in Sagar and maximum in Indre. In terms f use f firewd, urban Madhya registers 31. percent while the percentage share f the divisins ranges frm 18. t 52.5 percent; with Indre at the minimum and Sagar at the maximum. With regard t husehlds relying n kersene as cking fuel, the state urban average is 4.5 percent while the divisinal share spans frm.9 t 1.8 percent; with Chambal at the minimum and Bhpal at the maximum. At the district level, urban husehlds shw maximum dependence n firewd, LPG/PNG and cwdung cake as type f cking fuel. Districts which rely the mst n firewd as main surce f cking fuel include Damh (58.8%), Tikamgarh (58.5%) and Panna (58.4%) while lw ranking districts include Indre (1.3%), Bhpal (14.2%) and Gwalir (18.8%). With regard t LPG/PNG, Indre (82.6%), Ujjain (73.4%) and Gwalir (7.3%) shw maximum dependence while least is registered in Tikamgarh (37.2%), Damh (37.4%) and Panna (37.8%). Datia (8.5%), Rewa (6.6%) and Shepur (5.6%) rely mst n cwdung cake fr the purpse f cking fuel whereas Balaghat, Umaria, Mandla, Burhanpur and Harda depend the least with a percentage share f.1 percent.
