1 EasyGate UMTS Data quick installation guide This installation guide can be used for easy drivers installing, modem configuration a Internet options settings using EasyGate UMTS Data. Inserted screenshots illustrate the settings in Windows XP ENG, settings in other versions of Windows system is almost same. EasyGate UMTS Data connection a drivers installation 1) Insert the USIM card into the EasyGate UMTS Data (follow the Manual on CD) 2) Connect the EasyGate UMTS Data with Your PC using A B USB cable. 3) Connect the gateway to supply adapter (use the original adapter). 4) If Your PC is not turned on, turn it on. 5) Make sure You have directory with EasyGate UMTS Data drivers including following files: modem.sys oem28.inf oem30.inf telitusb.inf telitusbser.sys Drivers take place on the included CD in directory Data\EasyGate\Modem driver. The file EasyGate 3G USB Modem Drivers.zip is necessary to unzip in somewhere in Your PC before installation. 6) If finding of new hardware components is turned on in Your PC, Windows find automatically the new hardware and display following window. Choose You don t want to connect to Windows Update Web and click Next. If finding of new hardware components is turned off in Your PC, skip to part 13). 7) In following window choose Install from a list or specific location and click Next.

2 8) Choose the options as shown in the screenshot and click Browse to set the directory path to modem drivers You copy in part 5) 9) If warning window is displayed choose Continue Anyway

3 10) The modem is properly installed, choose Finish 11) During installation 3 new hardware items are found and have to be installed. For all items use the procedure described up. After installing all new hardware items following is added to device manager (Control panels >System >Hardware >Device manager): Telit HSDPA USB Modem Telit Auxiliary Port Telit Diagnostics Interface Device manager with these hardware items is shown down. The numbers of COM ports can differ.

4 12) If finding of new hardware components is turned off in Your PC, open Control panels >System >Hardware >Device manager. You will see three items with yellow exclamation mark. If there are more than three, there are other devices in Your PC without drivers. In this case we recommended contacting the administrator of Your system

5 13) Click with right mouse button on any marked item and choose Actualize the software driver. The window as in part 6) should display. Skip to part 6). Actualize the drivers for all three marked items. Following this procedure You should install all three hardware items described in part 10). Modem configuration After successful modem installing it is needed to configure the modem accordance with Your operator or internet provider. If You have manual, CD or other information from Your operator or ISP about modem configuration use primarily these materials 14) Open the window Control panels >Modem and telephone settings >Modems, choose Telit HSDPA USB Modem and click Properties. 15) On card Advanced fill the extra initialization command according with Your mobile operator or ISP. For O2 CZ and other operators the following command is working properly: at+cgdcont=1,"ip","internet","",0,0 Then click OK button. Internet connection After properly modem configuration You can create new internet connection and start using EasyGate UMTS Data. If You have manual, CD or other information from Your operator or ISP about modem configuration use primarily these materials 16)Choose Control panels >Network Connections >Create a new connection.

6 17)In following window of New connection Wizard click Next and then choose Connect to the Internet. 18) Choose Setup my connection manually and click Next.

7 19)Choose Connecting using dial up modem and click Next. 20) If more modems are installed on Your PC in following window choose Telit HSDPA USB Modem. 21)Choose the name of Your internet connection. It will be displayed in Your PC. 21) Fill in the telephone number for specific service accordance with Your operator or ISP. For O2 CZ and some other operators *98# works for GPRS or HSDPA Internet connection.

8 22)Check the operator s or ISP s instructions to fill up the user setting. 23) Finish the New Wizard connection. The connection is now accessible from Control panels >Network Connections. 24)In last dialog click Dial. If modem is installed end configured properly You should connect to The internet. The speed of connecting to internet and the internet connection depends of the service You are using and the operator or ISP network.
