8 THE FACULTY ANN M. BUTERA, CRP is the Founder and President of The Whole Person Project, Inc., an organizational development consulting firm that specializes in assisting companies to introduce, handle and manage change. As a lecturer and trainer, she provides strategies that are proven to get results in the areas of auditing and internal controls, business risk assessment, and leadership and managerial skill development. Ms. Butera served as Audit Committee chair for a 5.2B financial services firm. She has authored numerous business articles in such trade journals as Bank Accounting & Auditing Magazine and the ABA Consumer Banking Digest, and has been quoted in The New York Times and Working Woman magazine, among other publications. She is a columnist for the Indiana Bankers Association s Hoosier Banker magazine and for Protiviti s website, KnowledgeLeader. Ms. Butera was an instructor at the BAI Bank School, the Graduate School of Banking at University of Wisconsin at Madison. Ms. Butera is a member of the IIA, NACD, the American Society for Training and Development and the World Future Society. JOEL F. KRAMER, CPA is Managing Director of the Internal Audit Division of MIS Training Institute. Mr. Kramer joined MISTI in 1982, and introduced its highly acclaimed Internal Audit curriculum. Prior to joining MISTI, Mr. Kramer was Director of Internal Audit for Instrumentation Laboratory, Inc. He also worked for both The Gillette Company and Coopers & Lybrand. Mr. Kramer was inducted into the Institute of Internal Auditors American Hall of Distinguished Audit Practitioners in He is a recognized speaker at international, national and regional audit conferences. Mr. Kramer has written several articles on productivity and project management for The Internal Auditor and Protiviti s KnowledgeLeader. He is a past member of the Board of Governors of the Greater Boston Chapter of the IIA, and currently serves on the Advisory Board of the Louisiana State University Center for Internal Auditing.
9 Guest Speakers Jennifer Faulkner is the Senior Vice President, Internal Audit for New York Power Authority (NYPA). In this role she oversees the preparation of the annual Internal Audit plan and directs the execution of internal audits that regularly evaluate the adequacy and effectiveness of financial, information technology and operating controls. In addition, she plans and directs all fraud prevention and detection of internal audit activities at NYPA, including the execution of special investigations involving cases and instances of fraud, waste, abuse and ethical and regulatory complaints. Ms. Faulkner previously held multiple positions at Pfizer, culminating with her role as Director of the Global Risk, Compliance and Control Group, where she worked with colleagues from more than 100 markets to ensure that the monitoring activities and special projects under the global Foreign Corrupt Practice Act were executed. William Jennings is a Managing Director with Alvarez & Marsal Global Forensic and Dispute Services in Atlanta. He is responsible for providing forensic accounting, investigation and asset recovery services to corporations, government agencies, attorneys and their clients, as well as, business controls consulting services to organizations. With more than 30 years of experience in forensic accounting, investigation, asset recovery, business controls development, public accounting and auditing, Mr. Jennings has worked on hundreds of forensic accounting and investigation assignments. He has been involved in every aspect of these cases, including: strategic planning, detailed analysis, model building and assistance with all phases of discovery and expert testimony at deposition and trial. Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Jennings spent seven years in Navigant s disputes and investigation practice in Atlanta, where he served as Managing Director and Practice Leader. Mr. Jennings earned a bachelor s degree in accounting from the University of New Orleans and a master s degree in business administration from Auburn University.
10 Sharon Lindstrom is the Managing Director at Protiviti. With over 28 years experience in providing audit and risk consulting services to companies primarily in the manufacturing industry. Ms. Lindstrom leads Protiviti s global Manufacturing and Distribution Industry team. With focuses on delivering solutions to automotive, distribution and logistics, materials and chemicals and other manufacturing companies she helps to enhance their business performance through risk management, operational effectiveness and enhanced governance. Brian P. Reilly is the Senior Vice President and Chief Auditor for Travelers. Since joining the company in 2002, Mr. Reilly managed the department through the spin-off from Citigroup in 2002, the merger with the St. Paul Companies in 2004 and the acquisition of Dominion Insurance Company in Toronto in He has integrated the audit methodologies for these companies and currently has 96 resources in four locations. Mr. Reilly is involved in several key initiatives across the Company including ERM, IT governance, data privacy, offshore resource utilization, due diligence efforts, business continuity, emerging technologies, data management, vendor oversight and various capital modeling regulations. Previously, he was an audit partner at Arthur Andersen LLP. He is a member of the American Institute of CPAs and the Connecticut Society of CPAs and has his Bachelors of Science degree in accounting from the University of Connecticut. Very useful. 12 2016 MISTI Cancellation Policy A full refund, less a $195 administrative fee, will be given for cancellations received 15 days or more before the event. Tuition is non-refundable for cancellations made 14 days or less before the event. You may, however, transfer your tuition to another MISTI event, less a $1000 cancellation fee. Transfers are valid for 12 months from the time of initial cancellation. Substitutions are welcome at any time. Those who do not cancel before the event date and who do not attend are responsible for the full non-refundable, non-transferable tuition.
