7 At home in the laboratory Students build hands-on skills in SAIT s Home Lab At SAIT Polytechnic, our Architectural Technologies and Civil Engineering Technology students learn about home design from the floorboards up, constructing real houses in our indoor home building lab as well as studying computer-aided design and drafting. Get trained for real-life situations including subdivision, roadway and bridge design. TUITION AND FEES: YEAR 1 $4,933 YEAR 2 $4,933 PROCESS PIPING DRAFTING Training includes producing/interpreting engineering drawings, designing components, preparing/interpreting specifications, and using a Computer-Aided Design and Drafting (CADD) system to produce models and detail drawings. TUITION AND FEES: $15, WEEK FAST-TRACK PROGRAM FALL AND WINTER STARTS Accredited by the Canadian Technology Accreditation Board The program has two majors: Construction Management or Municipal Engineering Accredited by the Canadian Technology Accreditation Board Accredited by the Canadian Technology Accreditation Board Program focuses on design skills coupled with a practical knowledge of process equipment and project specifications. The program is designed around the natural gas processing field but covers piping systems common to many other fields such as oil and gas pipelining, petroleum refining, oil sands, pulp and paper, and food and beverage processing. In order to demonstrate English language proficiency, an applicant must have: a) Completed three years of full-time instruction in the English language, with a minimum of 12 hours instruction per week; OR b) Successfully completed assessment testing in one of the following: International English Language Testing System (IELTS) with a minimum score of 6.0 in each skill/category must be an academic assessment Canadian Academic English Language Assessment (CAEL) with a minimum 60 overall band Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) Internet Based Testing (IBT) with a minimum overall score of 80 (and a minimum score of 20 in each category).
