Dr. Lori Tubbergen Clark, NC RESA Superintendent; David Hewitt, NC RESA BOE President presented the county award to Senator Hansen for his work in sponsoring and passing the Promise Zone legislation for Newaygo County students to have an opportunity for a tuition-free Associate s Degree.
4 2016 Newaygo County Outstanding Educator Winners Carla A. Roberts, CEO and President of Fremont Area Community Foundation recognized these educators who have demonstrated outstanding qualities that impacted student achievement, instructional creativity, and community involvement. They were each awarded a $2,500 scholarship from Fremont Area Community Foundation to enrich their classrooms. Amy Zerlaut, Grant Primary Center, Outstanding Educator for Elementary Level; Melinda Zerlaut, Grant Middle School, Outstanding Educator for Middle School Level; and Kris Waalkens, Hesperia High School, Outstanding Educator for High School Level.
