2 WELCOME Roy Cooper, Managing Director of Professional Security Magazine, welcomes you to Security TWENTY 16 North here at the Hilton Deansgate Hotel in Manchester. We have planned the day so that you can enjoy some excellent presentations from key industry people that are involved with the changing world in which we live. Whatever your subject of expertise, there should be something in the presentations for you to learn and leave feeling better informed. 4 SPEAKERS Tony Porter - Surveillance Camera Commissioner Tony was appointed Surveillance Camera Commissioner in March He has a combination of business and law enforcement expertise. He is an intelligence specialist (most recently within the financial sector) and retired senior police leader. His experience spans community and business engagement, international counter terrorism and serious and organised crime. His role is to: encourage compliance with the surveillance camera code of practice review how the code is working provide advice to ministers on whether or not the code needs amending Provide advice and information to the public and system operators about the effective, appropriate, proportionate and transparent use of surveillance camera systems. Alan Cain - Manchester Metropolitan University Alan Cain is the Head of Security and Business Continuity at Manchester Metropolitan University. He has thirteen years experience in security management, obtained in the higher education, diplomatic and corporate security sectors. His previous roles include Head of Security at the University of Leeds, Security Consultant for ISL-Risk Ltd and Operations Support Manager for G4S Wackenhut, where he was responsible for the Local Guard Force of the United States Embassy in London. He is also a former NCO in the Army Reserve and has served on operational tours of both Iraq and Afghanistan.

5 SPEAKERS Mike White - Hampton Security Consultants Michael has over fifteen years experience working in security management throughout the UK gained in both the public and private sectors across a wide range of sectors including shopping centres (that includes centres in Taunton, Tunbridge Wells, Coventry, Gloucester and Great Yarmouth as well as time as the National Account Manager (UK) for Westfield), offices, distribution centres, event security, diplomatic security, utilities and media organisations as well as The London Stock Exchange. Proficient across the operational and compliance process he has worked in partnership with blue-chip clients across the UK to strengthen their security provision, enhance their service delivery, implement robust and resilient security procedures and undertake operational security audits and threat assessments. He is the former Chairman of IPSA, a Director of the Security Institute, and holds memberships in the ASIS UK and the Institute of Directors and is a Freeman of The City of London through his membership of the Worshipful Company of Security Professionals. Simon Gordon Facewatch Simon Gordon founded Facewatch in April 2010 with a team of senior business colleagues. The inspiration came from seeing how complex and time consuming the interface between businesses and the police had become, in particular with the delivery of CCTV evidence. He is Executive Chairman of Facewatch and proprietor of Gordon s Wine Bar in London; he was also Chairman of the Charing Cross Safer Neighbourhoods ward panel for 2 years. Simon is a qualified Chartered Accountant, formerly Finance Director of the Skandia UK group managing 10bn of assets.

6 SPEAKERS David Spreadborough - Forensic Video Analyst David was a UK Police Officer for 24 years. The last 12 years were spent as a Video Investigator. During that time, he designed and implemented the model of local CCTV support for investigators that is used in many other Forces today. He was an adviser to ACPO, the College of Policing and a Policing Subject Matter Expert for Forensic Video Analysis. In 2015, David resigned from the Police service in order to continue his passion in Forensic Video Analysis and the training and development of others in the field. He is now one of only two people in the UK who have been professionally certified and is the international trainer for one of the world s leading forensic image & video enhancement software companies. Paul Smith - Metropolitan Police Paul is an acting Police Sergeant in the Metropolitan Police Service, with over 23 years experience in policing. Following the London Riots 2011, Paul has been involved with imagery and the best methods in the identification of suspects to crime from CCTV. Paul was instrumental in setting up teams of officers in the Metropolitan Police Service who would present images to police officers, personnel and outside agencies to obtain identifications. Since April 2013 Paul has developed the identification, management and use of Super Recognisers, working with Greenwich, Napier, York and Bournemouth Universities.
