2 We celebrated Multicultural Month at Church Farm School with a host of activities celebrating the various cultures represented at the school. A perennial favorite is our Multicultural Dinner, and this year was no exception. The menu featured Chinese, Korean, Vietnamese, African, Indian, Jamaican, Latin American and Mexican food, and was prepared and served by faculty, staff, students, Sodexo and even CFS coach Rohan Grant! Thanks to the Multicultural Club for putting on another great event! The M-Club also created this fun video welcoming guests to the event.

3 Other highlights of the month included a Multicultural Dress Down Day (pictured below), an Open Mic night and town halls with topics such as teenage stress and racism. Student Profile: Daniel Eze '17 Daniel Eze '17, a resident of Downingtown, came to Church Farm School in 8th grade looking for a better academic opportunity. His mother had passed by the school many times, and thought it was worth checking out. Stephen Zarycranski '16, then a freshman and also a day student from Chester Springs, gave him a tour, and he was sold on CFS. "It just seemed more friendly than my school. Everyone we walked by said 'hi' to Stephen," Daniel recalls. His first year at CFS, Daniel was enrolled as a day student, but after his family found the logistics of getting him to and from the school on time too tricky, he became a boarder for his 9th and 10th grade years. After earning his driver's license at 16, he decided to go back to being a day student for 11th grade. But he wholly appreciates the

4 boarding school experience. "I became closer to everyone. I started to feel like I knew the school more, and it was easier to study because I had more access to the teachers, too." An active participant in school life, Daniel plays soccer, basketball and track, and even tried golf. "The athletics here allows us to explore different things until we find what we like and don't like. I've basically tried everything." He is a member of the DECA, Marketing and Greystock News clubs, and he has an affinity for photography. "Church Farm School really helps you get out of your shell. The people are so friendly. It's a community... a family here." CFS Band Hosts Dynamo Band teacher Ms. Nicole Campbell and her students were joined on March 8 by the Nashville-based band, Dynamo - whose music is a fusion of jazz, R&B and funk - for a full-day workshop in Chapel. That evening, the Church Farm School band performed three songs, and Dynamo performed too, before heading off to finish up their most recent tour. A huge thanks to Ms. Campbell for organizing this visit, and to Dynamo for spending so much time with us (and taking this epic selfie). You can view the full performance here:

5 DECA Members Compete in Hershey

6 At the beginning of March, six students - (pictured left to right) Daniel Eze, Mel Mendez, Sebastian Lopez, Sungho Yoo, Zhaosen Guo and Cameron Lybrand - competed at the state DECA competition in Hershey, PA. It was the largest state competition yet with more than 2,100 students from all over the state, and three of our students returned home with honors: Mel Mendez: First place in Job Interview Zhaosen Guo: Third place in Business Finance Sungho Yoo: Medallions for Best Role Play and Best Test Score Support Relay for Life Team Lunardi The school's Relay for Life Team, named in honor of former CFS teacher and guidance counselor Rich Lunardi (pictured above) is getting ready for their event at West Chester University on April 23, and is still $700 away from meeting their goal!
