1 INITIATE JOB POSTINGS IN PeopleAdmin 7 A How-To Guide
2 CREATING A JOB POSTING Before you begin, be sure to get the classification information and a recommendation from Compensation on the pay rate for the position. From the home page be sure you are starting in the Applicant Tracking site. There are two ways to start a job posting: 1) See the Shortcuts box on the right top side of your home page and click the Create New Staff Posting link. 2) Hover over the Postings tab and select Staff from the menu list. Then click on the orange Create a New Posting button. CREATE NEW STAFF POSTING: this link will open a box with options on how to initiate a posting.
3 2 STAFF: this link will take you to the Staff Posting page, where you may select the orange Create New Posting button. By clicking this button, the same box will appear with the same options. You may either choose the Create from Template or the Create from Posting link. Create from Template takes you to a listing of the job classifications and levels. They appear in alphabetical order according to the classification s title. If you are looking for a specific classification, type the name into the search box and click search and the system will refresh with the classifications with that name in the results. There are 2 ways to start a posting from this page: 1) Hover over the Actions button and select Create From (it means create posting from this template).
4 3 2) If you select the classification title on the left, the system will open up another window which will show an overview of what the template will look like. To use this template click the green button Create Posting from this Template. In either case the next window that pops up will start the New Posting and contains required fields that must be filled-out (indicated by a red asterisk.) If you navigate away from this page before saving, your started posting will not be saved. Indicate the Functional Title for the position and the Department that the position will work in. Only click the Accept references box if you would like to receive written letters of reference from the applicants. Additional menu choices will then become available. Note: Please DO NOT DESELECT the Accept online applications button. All applicants will need to submit online applications. After filling out the indicated fields, you may choose the orange Create New Posting to continue or the Cancel button in order to go back and make changes
5 4 If your posting was successfully created, you will see the green message at the top and you will also be brought to the Posting Details page. Note: Required information from the posting details page will be marked with an asterisk and red box. Complete the required information and save your work using the Save button. Note: The Next button will move you to the next page in the menu (located on the left) or you may choose to select directly from that menu. It s recommended that you Save on each page before navigating to the next. Review each page to see if the information inputted is correct. Complete all information requested, if you aren t sure call Employment & Recruiting Services for assistance at x6565.
6 5 The final Summary page will indicate whether the new posting was created successfully or not. On the right-hand-side of the page, hover over the orange Take Action on Posting button to move the posting along in the workflow. Note: See the Appendix for workflow
7 6 Create from posting will take you to a list of postings where you can use a previous posting as a template. The system will automatically copy most of the information in to the new posting for you. Select the posting you want to create from and edit the information as needed and save. You may briefly review each page of the Edit Posting bar or you may skip to the Summary link. However, we recommended that in order to make sure that everything is correct, you review each page. You will then be able to send it through the workflow same as above. Note: All of the information that was in the selected posting will transition into this newly created job posting.

Non-HR users can cancel postings prior to approval. Approve for Later Posting Accepted (to record Time-to-Fill) Posted Closed/Removed from Web Filled Internal/ Invitation Only Cancelled
