5 About Hiring Managers The hiring manager of a job opening could include faculty or supervisors and other employees who are part of the hiring process. The purpose of this role is to allow persons to view a job opening with its applicants and take part in the selection process. The hiring team could include multiple persons who will view the job opening and its applicants, although one is designated as the primary hiring manager. By default the primary hiring manager is used as the actual "reports to" of the applicant and can be changed prior to submitting an offer. By the end of this guide, you will be able to: View job openings and postings Review applicant activity on the job opening Page 1

6 Browse Job Openings Browsing for job openings enables you to view lists of jobs that are filtered based on certain criteria. You can filter based on your relationship to the job, by viewing only: Job openings that are assigned to you (that is, you are the primary hiring manager) Job openings that are associated with you (that is, you are an additional hiring manager) You can also filter by the status of the job opening and by how recently activity has occurred in your job opening. Procedure In this topic you will learn to Browse Job Openings as a hiring manager. Step Action 1. Click the Main Menu button. 2. Click the Recruiting menu. 3. Click the Browse Job Openings menu. 7 Step Action 4. Click the Display list. 5. Click the All Jobs list item. 6. Click the Refresh button. 7. Under the Browse Job Openings screen, you are able to view all of the positions for which you are assigned as a hiring manager. 8. Click the Home link to return to main menu. 9. 8 View Applicants Recruiters could designate you as a hiring manager on a job opening. This identifies you as the primary hiring manager and defaults you as the supervisor for the applicant on a job offer. All hiring managers associated with a job have access to view and download applicant resumes and participate in the recruiting process. Procedure In this topic you will learn to how to view applicants. Step Action 1. Begin by navigating to the Browse Job Opening menu. Click the Main Menu button. 2. Click the Recruiting menu. 3. Click the Browse Job Openings menu. Page 4

9 Step Action 4. If you are designated as the 'primary' hiring manager, all jobs assigned to you will display on screen. In this example you have been designated as an additional hiring manager, and will need to change the display filter. Click the Display list. 5. Click the All Jobs list item. 6. Click the Refresh button. 7. The page will refresh to display all jobs on which you are assigned as an additional hiring manager. Click the Exam Invigilator link. 8. The Manage Applicants tab will show the number of applicants that have applied for the position. 9. Every applicant has a unique identification ID. Applicant ID can be used to retrieve applicant information. 10. Type indicates if an applicant is external (Ext) or an existing employee (Emp). 11. Disposition of the applicant tells you the status of their application in the hiring process. 12. Use the Resume to view applicant's attached resume. Page 5

10 Step Action 13. Click the Application button. 14. Under the Application Details Page, you will also be able to view the applicants resume. Page 6

11 Step Action 15. Scroll down to view the entire page. 16. To view the answers of the applicant's questions, click View Questionnaire. 17. The View Questionnaire page will contain a list of questions that the applicant answered during the application process. Note: The answers of an external applicant will be different from an Internal. 18. Scroll down and complete viewing the questionnaire. 19.
