14 SAP Test Data Migration Server software Why SAP TDMS for IS Insurance? SAP TDMS is designed to set up/refresh non-productive systems/clients with a reduced data set out of productive customer environments providing a highly-consistent data set based on a time slice (from date). As SAP for Insurance needs also historical data, and data specific to certain objects, the standard reduction based on time slice will not provide the data sets needed for proper testing. Data needs to be in-sync with connected systems. The Insurance scenario allows e.g. synchronized TDMS refresh between FS-CD and FS-PM systems. Insurance-specific approach allows customer to use predefined sets of Business Partners, Contracts, and/or Insurance objects. Fast delivery path for changed business scenarios without the need of any postprocessing and reconnection of systems. Secure data through SAP TDMS integrated scrambling mechanism, specific to IS Insurance objects (e.g. Business Partner)

I need all Business Partners with Life Insurance and the complete Region 154 which is high risk area for tornados For my dunning tests, I need 150 Business Partners in active dunning. I also need 3 brokers with all relevant data. Important for Data definition: Business Functions need to decide what data is needed!

18 SAP Test Data Migration Server software Recommendation for IS Insurance selection Data recommendations The data is owned by the business not SAP Basis Less is more the more specific the definition of data to be copied, the more often refreshes can be done Create another client for daily transfers (e.g. one Business Partner for testing) Implementation recommendations Plan your implementation TDMS is not a greenfield approach Testing is key after the first run, there must be a process of testing and issue resolution in place. Ideally, communicate to the functional teams that for 2 weeks after the execution, EVERY issue is a TDMS issue (TDMS project team analyzes the issue, and finds out if it is a TDMS issue, or not) See a TDMS implementation as a project and setup a project structure for it. The typical implementation characteristics are: definition, settings, configuration, design, testing, bug fixing.
