4 LA-ONTARIO INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT The LA-Ontario International Airport (ONT) served over 7 million passengers in 2006 with its 22 airline connections to every major city via 220 daily flights. ONT is the second largest cargo handling airport in Southern California and the 16th busiest airfreight center in the nation. ONT serves as the United Parcel Service (UPS) Western Regional hub. The airport creates an economic impact of over $6 billion in related sales for the region and contributes approximately 60,000 jobs related to airport business. Officials recently unveiled plans to accommodate an additional 23 million passengers per year by 2020 at ONT. ONTARIO CONVENTION CENTER Contemporary in design, the $66 million Convention Center boasts 70,000 square feet of column-free exhibit space, a 20,000 square foot ballroom divisible into three sections and 24 meeting rooms occupying 24,000 square feet. ONTARIO S INNOVATION CORRIDOR OF COLLEGES & UNIVERSITIES Ontario boasts private, liberal arts schools such as the Claremont Colleges & the University of Redlands as well as Harvey Mudd College, Keck Graduate School of Applied Life Sciences, California State Polytechnic University, Pomona & the University of California, Riverside, where impressive scientific work is being conducted. Loma Linda University, one of the top medical schools in the world, joins California State University, San Bernardino, known for it s outstanding school of business, helps Ontario earn the title of Innovation Corridor. The Western University of Health Sciences, supplying a large portion of Southern California s health professionals, is one of America s leading universities admired for it s vision, education and innovation. The University of La Verne School of Law in Ontario remains the only ABA-accredited law school in the fast growing Inland Southern California region.
