Introduction Portfolio Tracker is a new generation internet aware application which is capable of tracking performance of stocks within portfolio of any investor. Portfolio tracker is one of the premier investment tracking and portfolio management applications, and Portfolio Tracker is builds on that reputation to improve your investment experience even further. Our customers comprise of first-time investors, professional investors to corporate houses who need to manage multi million rupees portfolios. The software helps them all keep better track of their investments and make rational decisions. The Portfolio Tracker (PT) is a premium online stock & mutual fund tracking utility from Jamb Technologies Pvt. Ltd. The PT provides you with several tools that enable you to analyze your portfolio and track its movements even during trading hours! 2. System Requirement Minimum requirements: Windows 98, ME, 2000, XP, 2003, or later Pentium-class processor 64MB RAM 800x600 video 10MB hard drive space Dial-up internet connection Recommended: Pentium 4-class processor 512 MB RAM 1024 x768 video 20 MB free disk space High-speed internet connection 3. The User Guide This section describes the terms and concepts used throughout the application and the rest of this User's Guide. The User Guide is designed to demonstrate the most frequently used features in Portfolio Tracker. When you first register to run the Portfolio Tracker, along with your user name and password our webmaster will send you a user guide as well. Simply follow the directions in the user guide to become familiar with the common functions available in Portfolio Tracker. Portfolios Portfolios may represent anything from a person's actual combination of stocks that you have purchased or virtual experimental investment strategy. Here we are considering portfolio of stocks that are listed in Nepal Stock Exchange. In Portfolio Tracker you can create a number of portfolios*, each of which is represented by a unique user-specified name. Under each portfolio you may have number of stocks and you can easily track the performance of those stocks and your portfolio as a whole. Changing the portfolio is as easy as clicking on the corresponding combo box to pick your portfolio. 3 Creating a New Portfolio for the first time Step #1: Login page Go to our Home Page Or Click Portfolio Tracker Link which will pop up new window asking you user name and password. Follow this link to go directly inside Portfolio Tracker Login Page. Enter your user name and password which is provided by Jamb Technologies Pvt. Ltd. and click on Sign In Button. Step #2: Adding New Portfolio You will be on Portfolio Setup Page where you can add new portfolio(s). After typing in a unique name, click on the Submit button to create your portfolio. (You are naming your portfolio where you can add number of stocks, bonds, mutual funds and other assets you are holding or about to hold from today.) Step #3: Choosing the Companies for your Portfolio You will be presented with the Portfolio Diversification window. Here you can select the stocks you wish to monitor. Here you will get different options to filter the stock that you wish to monitor, either you can sort and select through alphabetical listing, or through sector-wise listing, or you can also simply type the name of stock that you pursue to add on your portfolio. 4 Now select the companies as below: For example I am selecting the companies from commercial banks. Click on Commercial Banks. For example I am selecting Kumari Bank and Himalayan Bank. Then Click on Add button. Now you will see the list of selected companies at right side under Your Basket. If you want to add more companies from a different sector, click on another sector. 5 For example I am selecting Sanima Bikash Bank and Gurkha Development Bank. Click on Add again. (Now you have 4 companies selected for your portfolio.) Click on Check out button for the next step. TIP! You can add more than one or can add whole stock displayed in the screen at a time into your portfolio. 6 Step #4: Entering data (Share information) Now enter all the Data for your selected companies. (* indicates necessary fields.) Enter the Brokerage Commission in Total as in Bill. (Software automatically divides it by number of stock and adds it in the Buy Price.) Click on Next button. Review your entered data Click confirm button to finalize your data entry or click back to modify your previously entered data. After clicking the confirm button, you will be in your new Portfolio Home Page. Note: Your portfolio performance history, risk & return characteristics, sector-wise return and the portfolio summary chart will remain empty as soon as you feed in the data. 8 Portfolio Main Menu The Menu Bar from where you can set and modify your Portfolio. Home : To Return to the Main Page of your Portfolio. Setup : To Make a New Portfolio. Buy : To add new stocks in your portfolio. Sell : To deduct the stock holding after selling the stock of your portfolio. Settings : To Modify your portfolio setting e.g. Change Password, Set Default Portfolio etc. Reports : To view and print the reports with different criteria e.g. Sales Report, Buy Report, Company Name Wise Performance, Company-wise Floor- Sheet, History Report etc. Edit : To Update or Delete your Portfolio, Sales and Purchase Data. Delete : To Delete the Selected Portfolio. It will also remove all the stocks in your portfolio. Analysis : To Analyze your selected portfolio using different tools. Live : To see the value of your portfolio during the trading time. (12 PM-3 PM). Fundamentals : To view the fundamentals of different banks and financial companies. Alerts! : To receive alerts and notification from the webmaster. (These menus will be discussed separately in details in next section.) Portfolio Performance History Your portfolio value is ever-changing, day and even a second can alter it. Portfolio Tracker records your daily performance of portfolio values. Portfolio value is simply the summation of, current holding multiplied by the closing price of the day. Portfolio tracker allows you to monitor the daily updates of your portfolio values in figures (change in your portfolio value and percentage change in your portfolio value in relation to your initial investment) as well as charts. In the picture you can see the Portfolio History data list from Dec 19, 2007 to Dec Where you can have Total Portfolio value, Change Amount and Change Percentage. You can even get this history from reports section by defining the days. For e.g. 10 days, 30 days, 60 days etc. You can have the detail of selected portfolio in Today's Performance Monitor section. 9 Today's Performance Monitor Performance Monitor is a dedicated service that filters your holding shares within a portfolio and monitors the performance of each stock and also the portfolio as a whole. Performance Monitor is such a watch list that evaluates the overall performance of your portfolio. The profit/loss in a portfolio can be easily figured out in light of your total initial investment and today s market value of individual portfolio. In the Details section, you can add more details about you stock. Here you can add information about the cash dividend, stock dividend, right shares and even attach your remarks for a particular fiscal year. Today's price monitor also calculates the amount of brokerage commission, sebo commission, tax amount and total profit /loss after tax that you might have to pay if you decide to sell all the stock holdings in your portfolio at the prevailing market price. In the Calculation Details section, you can study in detail, how much brokerage commission, sebo commission and capital gain tax you will have to pay if you decide to sell all the stock holdings in a portfolio or just one particular stock holding. Commission amounts and tax amounts are calculated on the basis of prevailing rates that are susceptible to change with the change in policy. 10 Performance History Chart Portfolio Performance Chart provides you an alerting signal at which direction your portfolio is moving. You can clearly identify whether your portfolio value is increasing to decreasing. Your chart gets updated only after a traded day, after you have created a portfolio. Individual Investment Chart Your total investment in different stocks will be figured out. Sector wise Investment Chart Diversification Chart can be figured out based on the investment in different sectors of your portfolio. Your total investment will be presented in pie chart. Quick Analysis You can monitor the quick reference of your portfolio value instantly as soon as you log in to your home page. You will know your Current Portfolio Value, Change Value (Return on Investment (ROI)) and Percentage Change in your portfolio value for your quick reference. Sector Wise Return Portfolio Tracker automatically categorizes the stocks according to the sector and also shows the Investment Sectors, Sector wise Initial Investment, Sector wise Today's Value and Sector wise Return. 11 News & Announcement Inside portfolio tracker, you can view the current news and events of the stocks in your portfolio. Today's (Daily) Price Monitor The Daily Price Monitor enables you to track the day-to-day changes in the value of your stocks listed in selected portfolio. It displays the Name of Company, Last Traded Date, Close Price, Previous Close Price, Net Change, Percentage change as well as the Chart (Clicking here will display chart of last 10 days close price data) and News (Clicking here will display the news of the selected company) of your concerned securities. To keep yourself up-to-date on market news, you can also view company specific news and announcements in the Daily Price Monitor. Simply click the news icon in the specified rows of News column which is clearly seen as "N" Icon. Individual chart of your stocks/assets within a portfolio can also be figured out to visualize the trends of stock performance by clicking the chart icon. Gainer & Decliner Here you can see the list of Top Five Gainers (Increase in Price) and Decliners (Decrease in Price) of your portfolio company. Jamb Technologies Pvt. 12 Selling Stocks from a Portfolio If you wish to sell your stock holding from any portfolio you need to navigate from Sell menu. First you need to specify from which portfolio you will be selling your stocks or funds. Your total holding stocks or funds within a portfolio will be displayed from where you need to filter such stocks you wish to sell by marking the checkbox that are displayed correspondingly. Click on Sell button on the menu bar. Select your portfolio from which you are selling stock and click on Submit. Select the company names of which you are selling shares and Click on Next. Enter the Sales Qty. Sales Rate Total Commission as in your Bill. Total Tax as in your Bill. (You cannot sale greater quantity of stock than that of number of your holding stocks) Click on Next Preview and check your entry Click on Confirm to finalize or Back to Modify your entry. 13 Buying (Adding) Stocks within a Portfolio In our Portfolio Tracker, you can enter the details of any transaction (buy and sell) established by you for a stock. You can use Buy tabs to add more stocks in your portfolio. As you buy stocks they need to be added in your portfolio. You need to fill up the details of bought transactions like as of same procedure you followed during portfolio formation period. Click on Buy Button in the menu. Choose the existing portfolio name in which you are adding stocks. Click on Submit Button for next process. (Other Processes are Similar to Setup Up new Portfolio. Follow Setup new portfolio for the first time section Page. No. 3, step no.3 to Page No. 6 ) Setting Portfolio Tracker You are privileged with setting optimal requirement at your preferred choices of options in Portfolio Tracker application. If you are subscribing individual Portfolio Tracker Application you are granted following options in Portfolio Setting page. a. Change Your Password: You can change your user password by clicking Setting Icon, and choose Password Management, whereby you get authority to change your password. b. Set Your Default Portfolio: You can set one portfolio as your default portfolio that will appear in your home page, as soon as you start new session or login to the Portfolio Tracker. c. Edit Your Profile: You can also edit your personal information by using the link Edit your Profile. d. 14 Editing Your Portfolio You can easily edit your portfolio by clicking Edit menu. For this purpose you need to mention your portfolio name and operation mode, that is whether you want to delete some stocks within the portfolio (operation mode will be Delete (D) in this case) or you want to just edit the stock (operation mode will be Update (U) in this case) information within that portfolio. We have three types in editing. Editing Portfolio (To modify or remove (delete) the Portfolio data. if you remove the data it will be permanent remove) Editing Sales (To modify or remove the sales data. if you remove sales data the stocks which you sold will return to portfolio) Editing Purchase (To modify or remove purchased (Buy) data.) Step #1: Click on Edit Menu. Choose the Editing type e.g. Edit Portfolio, Edit Sales or Edit Buy (Purchase). Step #2: Choose your Portfolio Name. Choose Operation Mode. (Update or Deleting) Click on Submit Button. Step #3: Select the Stocks which you have to modify or delete. Click on Next. Step #4: Redefine your values as necessary. Click Update to finalize or Cancel to cancel update and return to previous step. In the Same way as Edit Portfolio, you can Edit Sales and Buy (Purchased) Data of your Portfolio. 15 Reports Reporting on Portfolio Tracker is quite easy. Portfolio Tracker is always stand-by to report your portfolio performance. We have used advance reporting system i.e. Crystal Report Service to archive your trading history and records. Portfolio Tracker is able to value and produce portfolio reports for any time period. Portfolio Tracker has also capability to maintain a transaction history for all accounts. You can send a query to generate following reports through Portfolio Tracker: Sales Report Date Wise: You can also request sales report for specified period of time. Buy Report Date Wise: You can request purchase report for specified period of time. In Depth Performance Analysis: You can list out your portfolio calculated according to the Latest Close Price, 180 Average Price, Max Price, and Min Price in one window. Performance Using 180 days transaction average, Max, Min & Close Price: It will show your performance data using 180days transaction average, Max, Min & Close Price of selected portfolio. Summary Reports: It will show you all the portfolios summary data according to the Latest Close Price or 180 Average Price. Portfolio Performance History: You can view your portfolio History. Portfolio General Details: You can view extra details for a particular stock according to their transaction number. Company Wise Floor-Sheet: You can view the floor sheet for a specified date of any listed company. Company Name Wise Performance: This feature allows you to view your stock holdings categorized according to the company name. Dividends : This facility is under construction. Interest : This facility is under construction. Capital Gains: This facility is under construction. Stock Splits: This facility is under construction.
