3 Home Page (Home Page Tab) The Home page screen displays after you login to the online brokerage system. You can change your default account on the Home page under the Preferences tab. Note: You can change the presentation of your Home page by clicking on the Customize My Homepage link. Here you can view the following categories (widgets) when logging on to your account. The maximum number of widgets you can have on your Home page is six (6). 4 Account Balances & Holdings Screen Use the Account Balances screen to view your account balances. Account Balance Item Definition Updated Money Market Fund Your balance in the money market fund. Nightly Credit Interest Your balance in the credit interest account. Nightly T/D Balance Market Value Equity Free Cash Buying Power Funds Available for Cash Trades Funds Available for Margin Trades Trade balance of the securities in your account. Includes trades that have not reached settlement date. The market value of the securities in your account as of the previous business day. The total amount of equity in your account in cash, margin and short positions. The amount that is free and clear for you to borrow from the Margin side of your account. The amount available for you to purchase margin-eligible securities. The amount available for cash trades. The amount available for margin trades. Intraday Intraday Intraday Nightly Nightly Intraday Nightly Total Account Equity The total amount of equity in your account. Nightly 3
5 Account Positions Screen (Under Balances & Holdings tab) Use the Account Positions screen to view your account positions as of the date displayed. Note: Account positions are updated nightly and intraday. Definitions of Description Terms Use the Add/Remove link to utilize the descriptions below. Term Asset Account Type Quantity Description Symbol Current Price Market Value Definition Describes the category of a security; Equity, Option, Mutual Fund, Bond. This will also list a trading symbol or cusip number for a position Indicates whether the security is held in the cash, margin or short side of your account. The number of shares, units, etc., held for this position. Position description. (Stock, Bond, Mutual Fund or Option Name) The ticker symbol assigned to securities and mutual funds that trade on the U.S. financial exchanges. A CUSIP is displayed when a ticker is not available. The security price at the last close. The market value of the position. % of Total % the position represents of the Total Market Value of the account Total Market Value For Accounts The total market value of all the positions listed for your account. Note: You can click on the symbol for the equity position to receive the following for the position; a company profile, company stats, and charts news. You can even launch into an Equity trade for the security. 4
6 Account Profile Under Balances and Holdings choose Account Profile 1. List of pertinent account information on file with People s Securities 2. Current account agreements on file. 3. Settlement instructions for Buys, Sell, and Dividends 4. Contact information for Name and Address as well as telephone numbers 5. Current status of E-Delivery of Statements and Confirms. Account Activity Screen (Under Activity Tab) Under the Activity screen you can view all your account activity for the past 180 days. Choose Account Activity under the Activity tab from the navigation bar. Term Date Type (T-C) Action Quantity Symbol Description Price/Entry Amount Definition The date of the transaction. The numeric description shown corresponds with the type of account where the activity occurs. Cash (type 1), margin (type 2), income (type 3) or short (type 5). Transaction code assigned by the system. The number of shares traded. The security symbol. Description of the transaction: the stock, option, fund or bond traded or the activity such as a deposit or a dividend received. The price of the stock, option, fund or bond traded. The amount of the trade, deposit, dividend, etc. 5
7 Portfolios Screen (Under Portfolio Tab) To Edit a Portfolio View 1. Choose Portfolio tab on the navigation bar. 2. Click Add/Remove on the Portfolio screen to display the Portfolio header. 3. Use Expand All or Collapse All link to view information on all lots acquired for a security. 4. To Add or Remove list click on the category you wish to view on your portfolio 5. Edit the view by changing the parameters in the list. Choose up to 20 parameters by dropping down each list box and choosing the desired parameter. 6. Click Save View to display the modified view or click Cancel to exit without saving changes. Realized Gains and Losses Worksheet (Under Portfolio Tab) Use the Realized Gains and Losses Worksheet to display a list of closed positions in any of your accounts for the current or previous year. To Display the Realized Gains and Losses Worksheet 1. Choose Portfolio tab from the navigation bar. 2. Click the Realized Gain/ Loss link. 3. If you have more than one account, choose the account for which you want to display a list of closed positions. 4. Choose Prior Tax Year or Current Tax Year from the drop down list to display the worksheet for the desired year. 5. You can also choose a specific time frame and submit for realized gain or loss information 6
8 Gain/Loss Worksheet Fields Term Definition Symbol Quantity Acquisition Date Sale Date Sale Proceeds Cost Basis Realized (G/L) Realized % Symbol for the stock, option, fund or index traded. Number of shares or contracts traded. The date the position was acquired. Date the position was sold. If you have more than one lot of the same security, lots are matched according to the Apply to Lots entry you chose on the Stock Order Entry screen. Proceeds of the sale less the brokerage commission. Cost of the security including brokerage commission. The calculated difference between the Sales Price and the Cost Basis. The calculated % difference between the Sales Price and the Cost Basis. 7
9 Equity Order Entry Screen (Under Trading tab) Use the Equity Order Entry screen to buy and sell stocks. To Place a Equity Order 1. Choose Equity Order under the Trading tab on the navigation bar. 2. If you have more than one account, choose the account from the Select Account list in which the trade is to occur. 3. Choose the Order type: Buy, Sell, Sell Short, or Buy to Cover. 4. Type the number of shares to be purchased or sold in the Quantity box. 5. Type the stock symbol in the Symbol box. 6. Choose the price option: Market, Limt, or Stop 7. Choose the order Duration from the list, day or GT Choose a qualifier AON (All or Nothing), DNR (Do Not Reduce), AON & DNR, or CLO (Market Close). 9. Type your trading password in the trading password box. (This is initially the same as your login password. You can change your trading password by going to the Preferences tab) 10. Click Preview Order to review your order before sending or click Cancel Order to exit without previewing the order. 11. You can correct the order using the Edit Order button. Quotes on the Preview Order screen are real time quotes if you signed a Real Time Quotes agreement; otherwise, delayed quotes display. 12. If the order is correct, click Place Order to send the order for processing. If you do not want to place the order, click Cancel Order. 13. If the order cannot be placed for some reason, the system displays a message explaining why the order is not valid. 14. The Reference screen displays once an order is submitted, notifying you that the order has been placed and displaying the Order Number for your records. 15. The system sends a message to your Message Center when the order is executed. The Message Center can be displayed on your Home page. The status of your order can be viewed on the Order Status screen under the Trading tab on the navigation bar. 8
10 Trading Tools You can research information on a stock under the trading tools bar. The stock screener allows you to research stocks based on specific statistics on the company. Submitting a Trade from your Positions Screen You can also place orders directly from your list of current holdings by clicking on the stock symbol and then click the Trade link. Option Order Entry Screen (Under Trading tab) Use the Option Order Entry screen to place orders to buy and sell option contracts. To Place an Option Order 1. Under the Trading tab on the navigation bar choose Option Order. 2. If you have more than one account, choose the account in which the trade is to occur from the Select Account list. 3. Choose the Order type: Buy Call, Buy Put, Sell Covered Call, Buy Call to Close, Sell Call to Close, Sell Put to Close. 4. Type the number of option contracts to be purchased or sold in the Quantity box. 5. Type the stock symbol in the Root Symbol box. Enter the Expiration Date of the option in the Exp Date box. Enter the Strike Price under Str Ps If you don't know the symbol of the option you wish to trade, click Option Chain Link (see page 12). If you are writing a Covered Call, click on the Covered Call link on the Options Order page. 6. Choose the price option: Market, Limit, and Stop. 7. Choose the order Duration from the list, day or GT 90. 9

13 Buy Mutual Fund Screen (Under Trading tab) Use the Buy Mutual Fund screen to buy mutual funds. To Buy Mutual Funds 1. Choose Mutual Funds Order under the Trading tab on the navigation bar. 2. If you have more than one account, choose the account from the Select Account list in which the trade is to occur. 3. Click on Buy under the header to add to an existing position. Or click on the Buy New Fund and choose the fund family in the Choose from Any of the Available Funds list and click the Buy link to the left of the desired fund. 4. Choose the amount of the fund to be purchased: Dollars or Shares If Dollars is selected, type the number of dollars to be invested in the Dollars box. If Shares is selected, type the number of shares to be purchased in the Shares box. 5. Choose the Dividends and Capital Gains option: Reinvest in Fund or Deposit in my Account. 6. Type your trading password in the Trading Password box. 7. Click Preview Order to display the Preview Order screen or click Cancel Order to exit without previewing the order. 8. Review your order. Use the Edit Order button to change your order if necessary. 9. If the order is correct, click Place Order to send the order for processing. Otherwise, click Cancel Order. 10. The Reference screen displays once an order is submitted, notifying you that the order has been placed and displaying the Order Number for your records. If your order cannot be placed for some reason, the system displays a message explaining why the order is not valid. 11. The order is listed on the Mutual Fund Order Status. 12. 14 Mutual Fund Buy Screen Sell Mutual Fund Screen (Under Trading tab) To Sell Mutual Funds 1. Choose Mutual Funds Order under the Trading tab navigation bar. 2. If you have more than one account, choose the account from the Select Account list in which the trade is to occur. 3. Click Sell to the left of the fund shares to be sold. 4. Enter the fund shares to be sold. To sell all shares, click the box Entire Position. To sell a specific dollar amount of the shares, choose Dollars and type a dollar amount in the Dollars box. To sell a specific number of shares, choose Shares and type the number of shares in the Shares box. 5. Type your trading password in the Trading Password box. 6. Click Preview Order or click Cancel Order to exit without previewing the order. 7. Review the order. Use the Edit Order button to change the order if necessary. 8. If the order is correct, click Place Order to send the order for processing. Otherwise, click Cancel Order. 9. The Reference screen displays once an order is submitted, notifying you that the order has been placed and displaying the Order Number for your records. If the order cannot be placed for some reason, the system displays a message explaining why the order is not valid. 10. The order is listed on the Mutual Fund Order Status screen until it is executed at the close of the market. 11. The system sends a message when the order is executed. 15 Mutual Funds Order Status Screen (Under Trading tab) Order Status Screen (Under Trading tab) Overview Use the Open Orders screen to view, change and cancel your open stock, option, and mutual fund orders. You can view all your account activity for the past 180 days using the Order Status screen or the Activity screen. Canceling and Changing Open Orders The following table summarizes your options with respect to canceling and changing open orders. Order Type Market Cancelable? Changeable? 16 To Cancel an Open Order If a request to cancel an order can be submitted, a Cancel link is displayed to the left of the order details. 1. Choose Order Status under the Trading tab from the navigation bar. 2. Choose the account from the Select Account list in which the open order is to be changed. 3. Click the Cancel link to display the Cancellation screen listing the order details. 4. To proceed with canceling the order, click the Cancel link next to the order. 5. If you clicked Cancel on the Order Status screen, the Reference screen displays the cancel request. 6. If the order cancellation is successful, Cancel Confirmed appears in the Comment column for the order on the Today's Activity screen. If the market is closed and the order cannot be cancelled immediately, Cancel Requested appears in the column. To Change an Open Order If a request to change an order can be submitted, a Change link is displayed to the left of the order details. 1. Choose Open Orders from the navigation bar. 2. Choose the account from the Select Account list in which the open order is to be changed. 3. Click the Change link to display the Change Stock Order screen listing the order details. 4. Change the quantity, price, or duration of the order or any combination thereof. 5. Type your trading password in the Trading Password box. 6. Click Preview Change to display the Change Order Preview screen. 7. To proceed with changing the order, click Change Order on the Change Order Preview screen. Otherwise, click Cancel. 8. If you clicked Change Order on the Change Order Preview screen, a Reference screen displays with a change order number. 9. The change order is displayed on the Order Status screen until it is executed. The Comment column indicates that this order is a changed order and notes the number of the original order. 17 Bank to Broker Transfer Screen (Under Trading tab) 1. Transferring funds online from your brokerage account to your bank account requires a People's United Bank checking account with a People's United Online Banking User ID. 2. You must log in to your People's United Bank Checking Account to initiate transfers 3. Select "Customer Service" from the main menu and then click on the Brokerage Transfer link under Account Service. 4. You may only transfer funds between accounts with the same owner and title 5. Transfers to or from your IRA Brokerage Account cannot be processed through People's United Online 6. For IRA transfers, IRA distributions, transfers between other account types, or questions regarding transfers please call us at (800) Bank to Broker Transfer Screen Quotes Screen (Under Market Research tab) Overview Use the Get Quotes screen under the Market Research tab to: View real time or delayed quotes Look up a symbol for a stock, fund or bond Look up and display an option chain The Quotes screen displays real time quotes if you agreed to the necessary terms; otherwise, the screen displays delayed quotes. You can choose which parameters to display for your quotes by choosing the Add/Remove Field link. 16
18 To Get Quotes 1. Choose the desired watch list view to determine which parameters will be returned for the requested quotes. 2. Select a type for each quote desired 3. Type the symbols for the desired quotes. If you don't know the symbol, use Symbol Lookup. 4. Click Get Quotes to display the requested quotes by symbol. 5. Note: Each display of real-time quotes affects your quote bank balance. Under preferences only check order preview. 6. Click Refresh button as necessary to update the displayed quotes. 7. Click the Symbol link to display a detailed quote. You can also launch into a trade, receive news, or view a Company Profile by clicking on the appropriate icon. Watch List Screen (Under Market Research tab) Overview Use the Watch List screen to create and view a list of stocks, options, funds and indices for which you repeatedly want quotes and other specified information. Use watch list views to display specified parameters for the items in your watch list. A watch list is a list of stocks, options, funds and indices. A watch list view is a selection of up to 20 parameters displayed in a table for each stock, option, fund or index. Examples of parameters are Earnings Per Share, P/E Ratio, and Price Alerts. Create as many watch lists and watch list views as you wish. Specify a default watch list if desired. The default watch list view is called Watch. Change the default in Preferences. Watch lists are updated when the watch list is displayed or the Watch List screen Refresh button is clicked. Use the Refresh button on the Watch List screen instead of the browser Refresh button to update Watch Lists. 17
19 Watch List Price Alerts Price alerts are viewed in the Limit column in any watch list view. The Limit column is the last column on the right in all watch list views. You enter price alerts as Alert Low and Alert High as explained in To Edit a Watch List. If you specify an Alert Low value when creating a watch list, the watch list view Limit column displays an L if the security or index price goes below the Alert Low price. If you specify an Alert High value when creating a watch list, the watch list view Limit column displays a U if the security or index price goes above the Alert High price. The Alert Low and Alert High values can be displayed as watch list view parameters. This may be more convenient than having to view the watch list to determine the alert values. To View Watch Lists and Watch List Views 1. Under the Market Research tab choose Watchlist from the navigation bar. 2. Select the desired Watch List from the drop down menu. 3. Select the desired Watch List View from the drop down menu. 4. Click Refresh. 5. Note the Limit column at the right side of the table. If you have set price alerts, they appear in this column when a stock, option, or mutual fund goes above (U) or below (L) your price alert figure. To Edit a Watch List Including Price Alerts 1. Under the Market Research tab choose Watchlist from the navigation bar. 2. Click Add/Edit Watch List on the Watch List screen to display the Watch List Manager. 3. Select a watch list to edit in Select Watch List to Modify or Delete box. 4. Edit the watch list by doing one or more of the following: Add another stock, option, fund or index to the list. a. Choose stock, option, fund, or index from the Type list. b. Type a symbol in the Symbol box. c. Optional: type a number in the Alert Low box to display an L in the Limit column if the price goes below the limit. d. Optional: type a number in the Alert High box to display a U in the Limit column if the price goes above the limit. Remove a watch list item by deleting the symbol and price alerts. 5. Click Accept Changes or click Cancel to exit without saving. To Create a Watch List 1. Under the Market Research tab choose Watchlist from the navigation bar. 2. Click Add/Edit Watch List on the Watch List screen to display the Watch List Manager. 3. Type a descriptive name for the new watch list in the Enter Watch List Name to Create a New Watch List box. 4. Click Create. The Watch List Manager redisplays with the new watch list name in the Select Watch List to Modify or Delete box. 5. Enter up to 16 stocks, options, funds or indices on the watch list. a. Choose stock, option, fund, or index from the Type list. b. Type a symbol in the Symbol box. c. Optional: type a number in the Alert Low box to display an L in the Limit column if the price goes below the limit. d. Optional: type a number in the Alert High box to display a U in the Limit column if the price goes above the limit. 18
20 6. Click Accept Changes or click Cancel to exit without saving. To Delete a Watch List 1. Under the Market Research tab choose Watchlist from the navigation bar. 2. Click Add/Edit Watch List on the Watch List screen to display the Watch List Manager. 3. Select the watch list to delete from the Select Watch List to Modify or Delete list. 4. Click Delete to delete the watch list or click Cancel to exit without saving. 5. Click Delete in response to the OK to delete? prompt to delete the portfolio or click Cancel. To Edit a Watch List View 1. Under the Market Research tab choose Watchlist from the navigation bar. 2. Click Add/Edit Watch List on the Watch List screen to display the Watch List Manager. 3. Select the view to edit in the Select View to Modify or Delete box. 4. Choose up to 16 view list parameters from the parameter list boxes. The Limit column for price alerts does not need to be specified; it will be the last column in the new watch list view. 5. Click Accept Changes to display the new view or click Cancel to exit without saving. To Create a Watch List View 1. Under the Market Research tab choose Watchlist from the navigation bar. 2. Click Add/Edit Watch List on the Watch List screen to display the Watch List Manager. 3. Type a descriptive name for the new watch list view in the Enter View Name to Create a New View box. 4. Click Create to display the Watch List Manager. The screen redisplays with the justtyped view name in the Select View to Modify or Delete box. All the boxes on the right side of the screen are empty. 5. Choose up to 16 view list parameters from the parameter list boxes. The Limit column for price alerts does not need to be specified; it will be the last column in the new watch list view. 6. Click Accept Changes when finished choosing the view list parameters or click Cancel to exit without saving. The new watch list view is displayed for the watch list that was showing prior to the creation of the new view. To Delete a Watch List View 1. Under the Market Research tab choose Watchlist from the navigation bar. 2. Click Add/Edit Watch List on the Watch List screen to display the Watch List Manager. 3. Select the watch list view to delete from the Select View to Modify or Delete list. 4. Click Delete to delete the watch list or click Cancel to exit without saving changes. 5. Click Delete in response to the OK to delete? prompt to delete the watch list view or click Cancel to not delete the watch list view. 19
21 Preferences Screen (Under Preferences tab) You can customize the following elements of the stock trading system on the Preferences. screen. Changing User ID and Password User ID: Type your login password, type your new User ID, Confirm your new User ID. Login password: Type your current and new passwords in the appropriate boxes. Trading password: Type your current and new passwords in the appropriate boxes. Note: Changing your login password will not change your trading password. This needs to be done separately. Under Login Tab Set at first login Same as login password until changed After making changes, choose Accept Changes to make the specified changes or click Cancel to exit without saving. 20
22 Changing User Settings Default Default Account: Select the account you want to see when logging on to your account Address: Type your current address Real Time Quotes: System defaults to the real time quote on order preview page. Account Groups Manage Groups - Create, edit, or delete custom group names. Once you have updated your group names, your changes are automatically reflected in the group accounts list. Group Accounts - Display the accounts you are authorized to access and group these accounts using your custom group names. For your convenience, all of your accounts are automatically grouped under "All." Under Account Group Tab See Instructions on Page See Instructions on Page 21
23 Enroll in E- Delivery 1. Click on Enroll in E-Delivery under the E-Documents tab. 2. Choose the Account you wish to enroll to receive paperless documents 3. Indicate which documents you wish to receive electronically by checking the box for statements, confirms, or 1099 tax documents 4. Enter your address and confirm your address 5. Check the box to indicate that you have read and agreed to the Description of Services 6. Click on the Enroll button to enroll your account 7. You will receive a screen shot that will confirm you e-delivery preferences 8. You will receive an within 48 hours to confirm your enrollment into e-delivery 9. An will be sent to your address whenever a statement, confirm, or 1099 tax document is available to you 10. Click on View E-Documents to view any statements, confirms, or tax documents 22
24 Modify/Change E-Delivery You can modify which documents to receive electronically, change the address you would like the documents to be sent to, or cancel your enrollment. 1. Click on Modify/Change E-Delivery under the E-Documents tab 2. To update your enrollment, simply enter your address 3. Click on the documents you wish to receive electronically 4. Click on Update Enrollment Profile change. To Change Address 1. Enter New Address 2. Re-Enter Address 3. Check off boxes for documents to receive electronically 4.
