Sections: overview of the admission procedure in 4 th year ENTERING THE FORTH YEAR AT NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF APPLIED SCIENCES INSA Lyon offers to students, who justify 4 years of scientific studies after the high school diploma, direct admission procedure in 4 th year based on qualification and academic record. This process allows them to integrate one of the departments during the 2 nd year of the engineering curriculum in order to obtain in two years the INSA Lyon engineering Degree. Organization of the engineering curriculum studies The INSA Lyon engineering curriculum is organized in 12 departments. 3 1957 : 4 years of studies (5 years from 1967) 3 engineering sections: Chemistry, Physics and Mechanics 1961 : 285 graduated (4,6 % women). The Rector Capelle had expected 1000 engineer classes : Creation of CAST, Scientific and Technical Actualisation Center Who can apply for the 4 th year? Those who obtain : A foreign or French higher studies degree, already validated or in the process of validation, for at least 4 complete years in the scientific and technical fields, A first Master year validated or in the process of validation in these same fields. Foreign candidates: before applying, you shall register yourself in a C.E.F Studies Center in France ( in order to validate your level in French and to prepare your stay in France. If there is no CEF corresponding to your country or if you can t get registered, you must provide your DELF (official qualification awarded by the French Ministry of Education to certify the competency of candidates from outside France in the French language). You can also choose two options among the 12 engineering sections. Look for comparability of your degree contents with the engineering sections you choose. You can only be admitted to one section. For 2015/2016 academic year, you can only apply for the engineering sections Civil Urban Planning and Energetics and Environment on the first choice. Admission arrangements to the engineering cycle Warning! The INSA jury only reviews complete registration applications. That s why it is very important that yours is filled in properly in due time according to the planning, and that it includes all the required elements in the requested form. You can apply for two sections (remind that the engineering sections Civil Urban Planning and Energetics and Environment only recruit on the first choice). 2. Download the application form and fill it in. Your teachers shall complete the evaluation form. Then, send us the full documents requested by 5 June The first session of the Admission Panel will take place on 12 June 2015 (candidates might be invited for an interview at INSA Lyon on 24 June 2015). 4. On 8 July 2015, the Admission Panel comes to a decision about the admission (subject to the provision of the degree leading to the title mentioned in the application). The results will be displayed on 15 July It is essential to confirm by before 18 July 2015 if you accept or refuse the admission. At the same time, you must make a down payment on the 2015/2016 tuition fees before 24 July Otherwise, you will be considered as resigning.
