1 Program introduction: Master program: Master programs have usually a schooling system of 3 years, and master programs delivered in English 2-3 years. The diploma and Master Degree will be awarded to those finishing all courses and passing thesis and dissertation. The fulltime study method is applied. Candidates: Master: Applicants must be non-chinese citizens with a foreign passport under the age of 35, and have attained Chinese University Bachelor s degree or its equivalent. Qualifications: Applicants must be healthy with appropriate degree and language level. 1. Basic requirements: Every foreign student must obey the laws of China and the decrees of Chinese government abide by the rules and regulation of the University and respect Chinese ways and customs. Any student who has violated Chinese law or regulations, endangered China s national security,disturbed public order or harmed the interests of others will be not enrolled and will be punished by the Chinese security and judicial departments according to law. 2. Academic requirements: with degree required by Chinese university or its equivalent. 3. Physical requirements: Candidates must be healthy in physical and mental, free from any serious or infectious diseases or severe physical handicap. 4. Language requirements: Students applying for programs in Chinese should provide the copy of HSK certificate (within a valid period for 2 years) or other equivalent Chinese proficiency certificates, HSK scores must be above level 8 (old version) or level 5 (210 points or above) (new version), except for students that have gained bachelor s degree or master s degree awarded by Chinese universities; non-english-speaking students applying for programs in English are required to provide the TOEFL or IELTS scores. Reference letters from professor or associate professors. The reference letters must be the original document, either in Chinese or English (with signature and contact information attached). 7. One photocopy of your current valid passport. 8. Content or abstract of your published thesis, or other material to prove your research ability (not required if unavailable). 9. If there are any materials able to demonstrate your comprehensive ability, such as honor certificate, certificate of social practice activity, please send to us with the paper application materials. 4 Scholarship: 1. Chinese Government Scholarship (college and university postgraduate program, supporting local government program and China-America cultural and educational communication program) It is a full scholarship established by MOE aiming to supporting high-level universities in China to recruit master and doctoral students from foreign countries independently. Applicants may make application to department, organization and schools responsible for sending students studying abroad or Chinese Embassy in your country, and send login in the China's University and College Admission System ( of China Scholarship Council to make online application. Confucius Institute Scholarship It is set up by Confucius Institute Headquarters/Hanban to provide financial aid for international students to proceed to a Master s degree in Teaching Chinese to Speakers of other Languages (MTCSOL) in Chinese Universities. Applicants should apply to Confucius Institute Headquarters ( for the scholarship through Confucius Institutes (independently set-up Confucius Classrooms), overseas Chinese test centers, educational and cultural offices (sections) of Chinese Embassies (consulates). 4. Hubei Provincial International Student Scholarship It is established by Hubei Provincial Government, with the goal of encouraging more international students to study or to do scientific research in Hubei provincial higher educational institutes.

5 Applicants must have gained postgraduate admission qualification by CUG in The scholarship is only applicable for distinguished foreign students studying in China. There are only a few chances! Medical insurance As stipulated by MOE, all international students must be medically insured throughout their entire planned period of study. Students are required to purchase the Comprehensive Insurance Plan of Foreign Students provided by Ping An insurance company on the day of registration, which has been recognized and recommended by the Chinese Ministry of Education. Students who do not have valid medical insurance are not allowed to register. Accommodation Information China University of Geosciences (Wuhan) allocates apartment of different specification and conditions to internationals students. There are three room types for choice: single room (with independent toilet), double room (share one toilet) and three-occupant apartment (3 single rooms and a toilet). There are TV, telephone, air conditioner, water heater, network jack and other furniture equipped in the room. The university only arranges a limited number of apartment rooms for overseas student. The students who do not have Chinese Government Scholarship and fail to reserve the apartment need to arrange your accommodation by yourself. Teaching and living quality: The university provides foreign students with high teaching and living quality. Foreign students can use special classroom and audio visual teaching equipment as well as dormitory with complete facility. All levels of restaurant and mess are offered for your choice. Moreover, there are football field, basketball court, volleyball court, tennis court and other activity places in the campus. And all kinds of stores distributed in the campus are enough to meet students daily living needs.
