2 individual with excellent customer service skills to fill one, full time, Customer Service Supervisor (CSS4) position. The duty station is the Natural Resources Building (NRB) located in Olympia, Thurston County. DUTIES: This position supervises the customer services unit for the Wildlife Program. Customer service staff provides internal and external customer service related to wildlife diversity, game, lands, and research activities. This position coordinates issuance of multiple permits and independently researches permit problems and implements corrections or elevates concerns to the appropriate section or division manager. This position assists the customer service and administrative support section manager with Washington Administrative Code (WAC) development and coordination and Fish and Wildlife Commission processes for the program. Coordinates major projects assigned from program management. Some of what you'll do Supervise customer service staff to ensure quality products (permit issuance, customer interactions, administrative work, etc.) are completed in an accurate and timely manner. Analyze processes for possible improvements, provide suggestions and make adjustments to ensure productivity. Support the WAC development process by reviewing changes proposed during rulemaking and providing an analysis of the anticipated effect to the customer service unit and the agency customer base. Provide superior internal and external customer service. Respond to inquiries, fulfill work requests, process permits, research problems, find and implement solutions or notify appropriate manager of suggestions. Answer telephones and author original correspondence addressing customer inquiries related to various aspects of the Wildlife Program. Research regulation references, customer records, and hunting reservations in the assessment of customer needs and options. Communicate in a professional manner with customers regarding hunting practices and regulations, wildlife conservation, and injured or orphaned wildlife. Prepare commission materials, utilizing customer service staff in the preparation of materials for Fish and Wildlife Commission meetings, ensuring accurate work is completed, timelines are adhered to and deadlines are met. Supervise data entry and use multiple computer applications. Verify and update databases, verify information and assist in permit processing. Explain policies, procedures, and processes. Assist hunters with the navigation, interpretation, and application of information contained in complementary data resources, e.g. GoHunt Mapping, Hunting Prospects, etc. Coordinates special projects. Outlines process and delegates tasks to subordinates. QUALIFICATIONS: Who should apply? Customer service professionals with a Bachelor's degree and two years of progressive experience providing assistance to customers regarding inquiries, complaints, or problems; OR, An Associate's degree and four years of experience providing assistance to customers regarding inquiries, complaints, or problems; OR, equivalent experience providing assistance to customers regarding inquiries, complaints, or problems.
