In 2009, this initiative was expanded with funding to support a Native American Collaborative which would provide services to high risk pregnant Native women and their families. American Indian Families Partnership was created from this initiative and collaborates with over 25 other programs to offer case management, financial literacy, family strengthening and parental training alongside, and through, traditional indigenous arts. As the community outreach coordinator, I was responsible for building and strengthening countywide collaborations that aided in achieving the aims of the organization. Additionally, I initiated, executed the implementation of, and facilitated a motherhood workshop that addressed the roles of historical trauma and colonial violence in contemporary indigenous mothering practices. Project Coordinator InSight Project: Indigenous Youth, Digital Images, and Violence Prevention University of California, Los Angeles August 2011-March 2012 The InSight Project was a collaborative effort between UCLA s American Indian Studies Center and the Los Angeles American Indian Community Council to analyze media constructions of race and to provide American Indian youth in the Los Angeles area with the means to imagine and

3 create images that talk back to colonial representations of indigeneity. Because of my close ties with the LA Native community, I was asked to assist the project director in facilitating the collaborative partnership as well as the execution of the project. In this capacity, I orchestrated the collaboration between the American Indian Studies Center and the community liaison. I facilitated meetings with youth, developed curriculum that was utilized in youth workshops and ensured completion of the project which included assisting youth in the creation of digital images, collecting said images, working with youth to analyze images and preparing final reports upon the projects end. In the fall of 2012, I was also involved in the Autry National Center s showcasing of the InSight Project. Program Assistant Tribal Learning Community Educational Exchange Program University of California, Los Angeles Summer 2011 As an alumnus of the program, I was selected to serve as the administrative assistant to UCLA Law School s legal and general education program, TLCEE. With its interdisciplinary scope, TLCEE joins Native peoples perspectives, knowledge, priorities, and visions for the future with the academic world at UCLA. TLCEE's primary goal is to develop relevant courses for delivery to Native community members and UCLA students interested in American Indian Studies. In my capacity as administrative assistant, I was responsible for documenting collaborative projects, maintaining daily operations, and instructing new students in civil engagement. Book Review Editor American Indian Culture and Research Journal University of California, Los Angeles September 2007-September 2009 In conjunction with my graduate work, I was employed as the book review editor for the internationally renowned, multidisciplinary Native American studies journal designed for scholars and the general public. The AICRJ publishes book reviews, literature, and original scholarly papers on a wide range of issues in the fields of history, anthropology, geography, sociology, political science, health, literature, law, education, and the arts. As book review editor, I utilized my training and knowledge in the field of American Indian studies to seek experienced and qualified scholars interested in reviewing upcoming and original scholarship in the discipline. Additionally, I executed a variety of administrative tasks such as facilitating the on-time completion of book reviews, managing an extensive database of potential reviewers, fielding potential review manuscripts, etc. Publications Robertson, Kimberly.
