Assignment Name: KEPSA ICT SECTOR Skills Training for the youth Client: Project: Country: Location within the country: Funded by: Kenya Private Sector Alliance (KEPSA) Kenya Youth Empowerment Project (KYEP) Kenya Nairobi,Mombasa & Kisumu The World Bank Makini has been contracted by KEPSA under the funding of the World Bank, to conduct the ICT sector skills training for an estimated 1400 youths. The training seeks to equip youths with much needed ICT skills for starting and running successful businesses as well as understanding how to handle the day to day issues arising from running businesses and how to successfully overcome the challenges and problems that present them. The specific aim of the training is to enable the participants to be proficient in ICT skills and take advantage of the opportunities and niches in emerging business areas that utilize these skills. The ICT sector skills have been identified as one of the key pillar under the vision The training will be conducted in 7 cycles. Each cycle takes 5 weeks conducted consecutively. The 2nd cycle of the training was completed in December 2012; the third cycle in 2nd May 2013 and the fourth cycle in 13th September Assignment name: Consultancy Services for Market Research Services in the Republic of South Sudan Client: Export Promotion Council Duration: February April 2012 Country: The Republic of South Sudan Location within the country: Yei, Juba, Rumbek Funded by: United Nations Development Program (UNDP) The requirements for this consultancy was to conduct a thorough market research and investigation and subsequently short-list Kenyan products to be targeted for promotion in the South Sudan market based on market potential and supply capacity; and establishing market size and growth potential for individual products under consideration and their competition from within and without. 5

Assignment name: Consultancy Services for the East Africa Banking Customer Satisfaction Survey Client: KPMG East Africa Duration: September October 2012 Country: Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania Location within the country: Dar-es-salaam, Arusha, Nairobi, Mombasa, Kisumu, Kampala & Jinja The requirement for this consultancy was to collect data on the banking industry in East Africa from retail customers. The data collected was on the perceptions of retail customers on the services provided by banks on various aspects. The survey involved the collection of data through detailed questionnaires using face to face interviews. A total of 2,008 interviews were conducted in 7 major towns of East Africa. This survey was a component of a larger survey that is part of a thought leadership initiative launched by KPMG involving analysing service provision in the banking industry in Africa. 4. Assignment name: Consultancy for Market Survey and Product Research Client: Export Promotion Council Duration: December 2013 February 2014 Country: Republic of Angola Location within the country: Luanda, Lobito, Huila Province, Huambo, North Eastern Angola The Export Promotion Council, within its strategy of Export Consolidation and Diversification, has contarcted Makini to undertake a market research which covers broad economic and social categories in the Republic of Angola Market and that is expected to aid the economic operators in Kenya to do business with the counterparts of the Republic of Angola. 6
