From the convenience of your own office or conference room, you and your colleagues can participate in a great educational resource without having to make travel plans or leave your office. How It Works Participants can listen to the presentation via a conference call portal and watch the PowerPoint presentation from a computer online. Participants have the opportunity to submit Q &A during the presentation. Each registrant, who is the key contact person, will receive an confirmation to access all of the registered session(s) and an 800 number to access the Webinar. This person s name will be given to the operator, and this person must be the one who calls in to participate on the Webinar. It is not necessary to download the handouts, as they are displayed on your computer screen as part of the webinar. For those people who find it useful to have the handouts in advance, handouts are available online three (3) days prior to each webinar. Each session will last 60-minutes. 2 Tuesday, April 22, 2014 Prevalence of Aggressive Challenging Behaviors in Persons with an Intellectual Disability and its Relationship to Personality: Jamaican Study Level: Advanced Patricia Oliver, PhD, DMS, Centre for Mental Health, Faculty of Medicine, Imperial College London, UK, Worldly-Wise Consultancy LLC, Manistee, MI An adult Jamaican population with ID was tested as a field trial to determine the utility of the proposed revision of personality disorders in the 11th Revision of the International Classification of Diseases (ICD-11). A study population of 38 people living with their families or in a supported care home were assessed using the Problem Behavior Check List (PBCL) (5-point, 7-item scale). Tuesday, April 29, 2014 Best Practices in Lifespan Respite Systems: Lessons Learned from States and Future Directions Jill Kagan, MPH, ARCH National Respite Network and Resource Center, Annandale, VA Since 2009, 32 states and DC have received Lifespan Respite grants from the Administration for Community Living to improve respite access for all family caregivers. An overview of the Lifespan Respite Program and best practices in state agency collaboration to increase respite for underserved populations, including individuals who have a dual diagnosis, will be provided. Friday, May 16, 2014 Counseling Individuals with Intellectual Disabilities Level: Intermediate Jamie Parker, MA, LPC-S, Austin State Supported Living Center, Austin, TX ; José Levy, MA, LPA, BCBA, Behavior Solutions, Austin, TX Often times people with dual diagnoses seek out counseling services as part of a treatment package. However, the counselor may be required to modify traditional techniques for the individual to benefit from services. Here, we will review characteristics that would lead a person to be a candidate for counseling and discuss ways to modify services.

At its core, CBT suggests that one's issues in life stem from faulty thinking that leads to disproportionate behavioral responses. Individuals with anxiety, depressive, personality, and psychotic disorders can benefit from CBT.
