3 Saturday, March 8th Advanced Invisalign Treatment and Techniques 3 CEUs Dr. Jonathan Nicozisis This course will lay a sound foundation for understanding some basic principles of moving teeth with aligners and then focus on effective communication in clincheck treatment planning design with the goal to mimic the language and actions of fixed appliance we take for granted every day. A broad array of case types will include correction of, crossbites, anterior open bites, deep bites on both Teens and Adults. Detailed protocols will review specific movements and attachments design for extrusion without auxiliaries, rotations of cuspids and lateral incisors, effective torque, correcting second order root tip and leveling the curve of spee, plus more! You will leave saying I didn t think you could do that with Invisalign. Successful Correction of Class II and Class III Malocclusions 3 CEUs Dr. Bill Gierie Many orthodontists still avoid treating patients with A/P problems with Invisalign. Join Dr. Bill Gierie as he discusses treatment of Class II and Class III patients with Invisalign. Sequential distalization, simultaneous distalization, surgical bite jump simulation and distalization combined with a surgical bite jump are some of the options available in the Clincheck setup. Dr. Gierie will demonstrate a rationale for which type to choose and why along with techniques to improve A/P correction outcomes. Sunday, March 9th Treatment Planning Efficiency and ClinCheck Set-up 3 CEUs Dr. Willy Dayan Successful Invisalign orthodontics depends on a wellplanned ClinCheck treatment plan. Even before planning and modifying the ClinCheck the clinician must examine the patient and study the orthodontic records, and develop a through orthodontic treatment plan. With a clear orthodontic treatment plan in mind, the process of ClinCheck modifications can take place. During the ClinCheck review the clinician analyzes the forces placed on the teeth via the aligners, and then modifies the ClinCheck plans accordingly to ensure that the alignes will indeed move the teeth as planned in the orthodontic treatment plan. Join Dr. Willy Dayan, as he presents a variety of cases and guides the participants through the process of: Chief Complaint, Significant Clinical Findings, Records, Orthodontic Treatment Plan, Clincheck Plans and Modifications, Final Clincheck Treatment Plan, Progress or Results. This presentation will focus on the ClinCheck analysis, and exact modifications requested, and then ClinCheck received in response to the modifications. The participants will view and understand exactly how each ClinCheck treatment plan is modified to get a final ClinCheck treatment plan that matches the orthodontic treatment plan. Speaker Bios: Dr. Gierie completed his dental and orthodontic training at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1998 and maintains a private practice in Wilmington, NC. He became an Invisalign provider in 2000 and an Elite provider in As an international speaker for Invisalign he has lectured at Invisalign Summits, Ask the Expert Webinars, authored White Papers on Invisalign Technique and taught numerous Invisalign training programs. He is the Invisalign and diode laser instructor in the graduate orthodontic program at UNC and has contributed Invisalign material to the 4th and 5th editions of William R. Proffit s Contemporary Orthodontics textbook. Dr. Gierie is the newest member of the Align Technology Clinical Advisory Board and a recognized innovator in Clear Aligner Therapy Orthodontics. Dr. Nicozisis has a private practice in Princeton, NJ since He earned his DMD at the University of Pennsylvania in 1997, and his MS and certificate in orthodontics from Temple University in He is a member of the Angle Society. As the founding orthodontist of BAS Medical (now Corthera), he helped raise two rounds of venture capital funding to investigate the hormone Relaxin s potential role as a therapeutic for mitigating relapse in orthodontics. An initial round of FDA human clinical trials has been completed. In February, 2010, Corthera was acquired by Novartis. He has lectured over 130 times at Invisalign Summit, European Summit, Forums, regional study clubs is on Align s Speakers Bureau, and continues to conduct clinical research with Align R+D. He holds two patents related to the Appliance Removal Tool, which is intended to be used with clear aligners. In 2011, he became a member of the SAB for PROPEL Orthodontics, a start-up company developing a novel technology to increase the rate of tooth movement. Dr. Dayan received his DDS from the University of Toronto in Following a year of general practice residency at the Montreal Jewish General Hospital and two years in private general practice, he returned to the University of Toronto and completed his diploma in Orthodontics in Dr. Dayan attends the Pankey Institute for Advanced Dental Education. Dr. Dayan s Toronto practice provides all techniques of orthodontic services: Invisalign, Temporary Anchorage Devices (TAD s), porcelain and metal braces, lingual braces, TMD and bruxism appliances. In addition to his full-time private practice in orthodontics, Dr. Dayan is also a clinical instructor of Orthodontics. His teaching expertise lies in areas of: Invisalign, Esthetic Adult Orthodontic Techniques, Rehabilitative Orthodontics in preparation for Cosmetic Reconstructive Dentistry, patient interviews and treatment presentation skills. He is a guest lecturer at the Department of Orthodontics at the University of Toronto, Hadassah University in Jerusalem and Tel Aviv University, the Toronto Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, the Ontario Dental Association, and the Alpha Omega Dental Fraternity. Dr. Dayan became an Invisalign provider in the fall of 1999, has treated over 1200 cases, and is currently an Elite Premier Provider. Dr. Dayan is a registered speaker for Invisalign and currently teaches orthodontists and dentists internationally how to use Invisalign to achieve excellent results even in the most challenging cases. He is a member of the Invisalign Clinical Studies Group involved in research and development of new and effective Invisalign techniques.
