There are 6 start dates per year: January, March, May, July, September and November. The placement test is the TOEIC Test. Take the TOEIC Test at Seneca or use your existing TOEIC Test score. There are 25 hours per week: schedules vary. In Levels 6, 7 and 8, you can study English and professional subjects for credit at the same time. 7 Teacher Training TESL/TEFL is a 2-course Teacher Training program that is certified by TESL Ontario. TESL 1 (ELI 317): a 6-week course that includes 100 hours of instruction including CALL (Computer Assisted Language Learning), 30 hours of observation and 10 hours of supervised practice teaching. TESL 2 (ELI 321): a 6-week course (168 hours + 10 hours of supervised practice teaching) that offers advanced theory and practice for graduates of TESL 1. Foundations for Success Foundations for Success is a one-semester full time post-eli course that prepares students for the English requirements of degree and post-diploma courses (see English proficiency test scores below). The curriculum includes text comprehension and analysis skills, text production skills, seminar skills, and advanced Research, Reading and Writing skills. I was anxious about leaving my country and missed my family a lot when I arrived. I met my first friend at orientation week, and never was homesick again.
