3 STRENGTH Physical strength is directly related to the amount of force a muscle can produce with a single maximal effort. Myofibril volume and the ability of nerves to activate them are related to muscle strength. POWER Power is the cumulative ability to exert a maximal force in as short a time as possible, as in accelerating, jumping and throwing implements. Power is proportional to the speed at which you can apply maximal force. SPEED Speed is the rate of movement in any plane. Athletes must be able to move with accelerated force in multiple directions. It is the development and combination of the proper musculature and mechanical technique that create maximal speed. BALANCE Balance training challenges the body to maintain proper postural control throughout a movement thus causing specific muscle groups to activate and maintain stability and control. ENDURANCE Endurance has a wide range of physical, chemical, and mental functions. Resilience in the mind and body to stressors must be developed in order for and athlete to maximize their full athletic and genetic potential. AGILITY Agility is the ability to explosively move in multiple planes and decelerate, change direction or accelerate again quickly while maintaining total body control. The stabilization, strength and power of movement is the sum of agility.
