The combination of these two companies has created the largest specialized low-voltage cable manufacturer in North America. Capabilities Rockbestos-Surprenant is an integrated manufacturer with extensive production and material design capabilities. Over the years, our materials engineers have developed countless proprietary compounds and products to meet specific customer needs. Our extensive corporate Research and Development facility contains a broad range of analytical equipment for new insulation development, pilot processing lines for the manufacture of cable prototypes, and testing facilities to measure the physical, electrical, chemical and flame performance of finished products and materials. Company applications engineers apply these developments to specific customer needs which require more than standard designs. Rockbestos-Surprenant is a world leader in irradiation-crosslinking technology, which has allowed us to provide industry leadership in the field of thin-wall cross-linked polyolefin (XLPO) cables. We also have a historical leadership position in the design and manufacture of high-temperature and other high-performance cables. Our integrated manufacturing process begins with in-house compounding to provide total control of quality and performance. Our manufacturing plant has thermoplastic and thermosetting processing capability, as well as cabling, shielding, and jacketing. The facility is equipped with extensive radiation processing capacity. In addition, we have numerous proprietary processes to manufacture specialized shielding systems, high temperature cable constructions, and hazardous location cables. Our fully approved QA/QC programs support compliance with industry standards around the world. Rockbestos-Surprenant Cable Corp. employs 500 people in two plants, one in East Granby, CT and another in Clinton, Massachusetts. Customers include utilities and the petrochemical, transit and locomotive, aerospace, steel, paper and glass industries, among others. Industrial Rockbestos-Surprenant manufactures control, power, instrumentation and thermocouple tray cables, armored cables and critical circuit cables for a wide variety of difficult environments. Rail Transportation For the transit and locomotive industry, the company supplies signal and traction power cables, locomotive and transit car wires, as well as power, control and lighting cables for transit stations. Electronic, Military and Shipboard The company manufactures irradiated electronic hook-up wire and cable, specialized high voltage hook-up wires, various military spec wire and Navy shipboard cables. Returns The Seller s permission must be obtained in writing before any products are returned to it by Purchaser for any reason whatsoever. If products are returned without such permission, Purchaser authorizes the Seller, in addition to such other remedies as it may have, to hold the returned products at Purchaser s sole risk and expense. Cancellation The Purchaser may cancel the order only upon written notice and upon payment to the Seller of reasonable and proper cancellation charges. Any delays requested by Purchaser in completing work on products already in production at the time of the request shall, at the option of the Seller, operate as a cancellation of the order by the Purchaser with respect to such products, within the meaning of this paragraph.
