Job duties This position provides leadership to plan, conducts and presents research and analysis of institutional data related to the development, assessment, and effectiveness of college programs, services, and activities; provides a variety of complex decision-making and strategic planning support to the President of the College or designees; assists the College Accreditation Liaison Officer by providing research, analysis, and organizational support for accreditation, including the comprehensive self-study; organizes, coordinates and monitors implementation of accreditation planning agendas and recommendations; articulates accreditation activities with the District as necessary; and provides regular progress reports to the college and administration.
2 The incumbent is expected to foster a culture of collaboration, mutual respect, innovation, and continuous improvement throughout the District; lead by example; actively participate in and support District-wide participatory governance components and activities and other collaborative processes; encourage professional excellence among the staff and promote an organizational culture of customer service, innovation, and quality services. Qualifications Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be: Education: An earned master s degree from an accredited college or university in a research-oriented discipline or related field that demonstrates applications related to planning, research and accreditation; and qualifications to teach in an academic discipline in higher education. Experience: At least five years increasingly responsible experience in the following: research design, statistical methods (qualitative and quantitative), data inference, data analysis (using statistical software), report writing, presentation of information, participatory governance, strategic planning and accreditation practices, including at least one year of supervisory and public contact experience. Salary range $100,000 and Higher Salary benefits Academic administrator range 19 $110,940 to $156,096 per year. Salary placement in the salary range will be based upon comparable experience and qualification. The District provides California State Teachers Retirement System (STRS), and offers a comprehensive package including holidays, sick, vacation, and personal necessity time; and, insurance benefits which include medical and dental insurance, a vision-care plan, life insurance and dependent life coverage, accidental death and dismemberment coverage, a long-term disability income-protection plan, and a legal plan. All premiums are fully paid by the District.s; increases are given annually thereafter up to highest step. 4 South Orange County Community College District is a multi-college district encompassing Saddleback College in Mission Viejo, Irvine Valley College in Irvine, and a new developing campus, the Advanced Technology & Education Park in Tustin. The District is governed by a seven-member elected Board of Trustees. The chief executive officer is the Chancellor, to whom the College Presidents report. The Director exercises functional and technical supervision over professional, technical and classified staff as assigned. Duties may include, but are not limited to, the following: Plan, organize, control, conduct and direct operations and activities involved in the research, review, analysis, interpretation and reporting of a variety data and information used in assessing institutional effectiveness, planning, accreditation and decision-making, and determining implications of practices, policies, measures and procedures. Train, guide, supervise, support and evaluate the performance of assigned personnel; delegate and review assignments and projects; evaluate work products and results; establish and monitor timelines and prioritize work; interview, select and recommend hiring of employees; recommend transfers, reassignment, termination and disciplinary action; motivate staff and resolve conflicts within the group. Develop, organize, facilitate, implement, review and evaluate a comprehensive, integrated and collaborative strategic planning process for the college; communicate the changing expectations, trends and needs of educational preparation effectively to college personnel. Coordinate research efforts related to strategic planning and activities related to institutional effectiveness, including the Institutional Effectiveness Annual Report, program review, matriculation, and validation of placement testing. Compensation and Benefits Salary Range: The Director is paid at Range 19 on the Academic/Classified Administrators and Classified Managers Salary Schedule ($110,484 to $156,096). Salary placement in the salary range will be based upon comparable experience and qualifications. Benefits: The District provides California State Teachers Retirement system (STRS), and offers a comprehensive package including holidays, sick, vacation, and personal necessity time; and, insurance benefits which include medical and dental insurance, a vision care plan, life insurance and dependent life coverage, accidental death and dismemberment coverage, a long-term disability income protection plan, and a legal plan. All premiums are fully paid by the District. Administrators are provided 24 days of paid vacation leave per year.
