August 2010 Present Assistant Clinical Professor Angelo State University San Angelo, Texas Upon leaving the Fort Worth area to move home closer to family, I obtained a position at Angelo State University as an assistant clinical professor. I supervise students during their adult med/surg clinical rotation. I am also instructor for an on-line based pain management course and pharmacotherapeutic course for the Master s program. I have currently been developing a classroom based Pharmacology class for the new generic BSN program at ASU and will begin teaching that in the Fall 2011 semester. April 2006 July 2010 Doctors Surgery Center At Huguley In April 2006, I started working part-time at the surgery center and then in April 2008 went full time. I am able to be more autonomous in this setting. Cases range from ortho, gyn, general, ENT, GI, pain management, podiatry, and cataracts. Dec 2002 Sept 2008 Northstar Anesthesia - Huguley Memorial Medical Center During my leave from Huguley, the surgery department grew and now has 9 Operating Rooms. My job responsibilities are the same as my previous employment. In September 2003, I took the weekend position which started at 7am on Saturday and continued through 7 am on Monday. During this 48 hour shift, I was required to stay at the hospital and be available for anesthesia services including OR cases, OB cases, emergency intubations, and difficult IV starts.

Huguley offers a variety of cases including: general, gynecology, ENT, ortho, vascular, eyes, cysto, and spine/neuro. The Anesthesia department was also heavily involved with the OB department, where CRNA's placed and monitored epidurals. The CRNA's administered all Anesthetics (excluding Spinals) with the supervision of Anesthesiologists. Types of Anesthetics administered include: GA, Regional (Spinal, Epidural, Bier Blocks, and Axillary Blocks) and Local/ MAC. CRNA's also took call at least once a week at this hospital. Jan April 2001 Anesthesia Student Oakland University - Beaumont Program of Nurse Anesthesia Rochester, Michigan Feb Dec 1998 Harper Hospital (Detroit Medical Center) Detroit, Michigan At this point in my career, I decided that I wanted to apply to Anesthesia school. I knew that I needed ICU experience to qualify for this very specialized area. I obtained a staff nurse position on a neurological intensive care floor. This position required that I pass a six-week ICU orientation. This position enabled me to learn how to manage critical care patients and post surgical patients with a variety of concomitant disease. I managed Swans, A-lines, Ventriculostomies, Lumbar drains, Caminos, and other invasive devices. Communication with the medical staff was also necessary. I applied to Oakland University - Beaumont Graduate Program of Nurse Anesthesia in May and was accepted in July.

3 Sept 1997 Feb 1998 Heartland Home Health Care Clinical Supervisor/Cardiac Supervisor/Case Manager Southfield, Michigan At Heartland Home Health Care, I was able to use the Cardiac experience that I had obtained from previous exposure. At first, I was hired strictly as the Cardiac Supervisor and as the structure of the office changed, I became a Clinical Supervisor, but still was in charge of the Cardiac team. This experience has increased my exposure to Cardiac care of patients in the home. July 1997 Sept 1997 Clinical Supervisor Madison Home Care Madison Heights, Michigan My duties at Madison Home Care were typical of a Home Care Supervisor. I was responsible for supervising all disciplines. My duties were the same as the duties I had at NHHC. March 1997 July 1997 Clinical Supervisor Nightingale Home Health Southfield, Michigan Upon relocating to Michigan, I accepted a position with NHHC. I was responsible for the direction, coordination, and general supervision of client care activities. I supervised 10 nurses. My responsibilities included reviewing opening paperwork, and 25% of all return visit notes; reviewing 485s; conferencing with nurses on a regular basis; and acting as a resource for field staff. April March 1997 /Clinical Supervisor Westwood Home Health Midland, Texas Upon transferring to the Home Health department, I began as a field nurse making approximately 30 visits/week. I also was required to rotate as on-call nurse for after hours and weekend visits. In August, I was promoted to Skilled Nurse Supervisor, for which I assisted our agency in preparing for our JCAHO survey. I designed and implemented 62 nursing plans of care using NANDA approved nursing diagnoses. My other duties included orienting new nurses in paperwork and patient care; conducting weekly nurse meetings and monthly in-services; reviewing nurses notes, verbal orders, and 485s; being available as a resource for our nurses; coordinating patient care; and ensuring compliance with Medicare and JCAHO standards. Sept 1995 April 1996 Westwood Medical Center Midland, Texas Westwood Medical Center, being a new facility, required employees to take command. As a Charge Nurse of a 50 bed medical/telemetry unit, I had a wide variety of duties including coordinating patient care, supervising floor staff, making floor rounds with physicians, and monitoring telemetry patients. I also was involved with the Quality Assurance Committee for which I gathered and collaborated data for our floor.

4 Feb 1995 Sept 1995 Arlington Memorial Hospital Arlington, Texas I worked as a staff nurse at AMH s Oncology Unit, where I was forced to learn time management, and had innumerable chances to sharpen my nursing skills. This facility is a high-dose chemotherapy unit where the patients are acutely ill. This experience taught me effective coping skills and potentiated my own personal growth. My duties were typical for a hospital staff nurse, with the addition of grief counseling, chemotherapy infusion, and accessing central lines.
