1 Trauma Nursing Fellowship Program The University Health System Trauma Nursing Fellowship Program offers the chance to gain expertise in trauma/critical care nursing. Through a 12-month fellowship in advanced didactic education and clinical rotations through STICU, Pediatric Trauma, Trauma Resuscitation, AirLife and Trauma Services. the successful candidate will be mentored by senior nursing staff. Upon program completion, the Fellow can expect to be proficient in the care of trauma patients from injury through hospital disposition. 2 New Trauma Nursing Fellowship Program Applications Due May 16, 2014 University Health System is actively seeking individuals for a 12-month fellowship program to develop clinical, leadership and administrative skills across the continuum in trauma care. This dynamic Trauma Nursing Fellowship Program is a powerful and challenging learning opportunity delivered through personalized, comprehensive and high-quality experiences. UHS is providing the opportunity for fellows to earn extensive experience and gain responsibility in the delivery of trauma care by focusing on care of the trauma patient from ditch to discharge. This fellowship program consists of didactic pathophysiology and five rotations through Surgical-Trauma ICU, EC Trauma Resuscitation, Trauma Pediatrics, Trauma Administration and AirLife Flight Nursing. Fellows will become proficient in: Advanced cardiac and trauma life support Resuscitation of critically ill patients Airway management Trauma team organization Trauma and acute critical pediatric conditions Leadership in trauma team management Registered nurses with at least three years experience and at least 2 years of critical care experience may apply. Starting July 2014 the four (4) fellows accepted into this program will be provided a stipend for books, outreach and travel. Salary, paid time off, benefits and leave accrual will remain in place. Upon successful completion of the program, fellows will receive a certificate of completion. Three (3) years of payback service at University Health System will be required upon graduation. John G.
