2 1 CREDENTIALING PROCESS CYP CDA and MSA Credentialing Process: Regional Allocations Purchasing & Authorizations
3 CYP CDA AND MSA CREDENTIALING On 31 January 2013, N926 released the CDA and MSA Credentialing Policy Letter and transitions to central contract for: Limited Number of Application Packets Per Region (e.g., allocated inventory) Initial Child Development Associate (CDA) or Military School-Age (MSA) Credentials Renewal of CDA or MSA Credentials
4 PROCESS: REGIONAL ALLOCATIONS Training Materials and Request for Application Packet The Regional CYP Manager or Designee is authorized to purchase packets a limited # of packets per region (per regional allocation). STEP 1: installation identifies which type of packet they need and the total count and submits the request to the region. Completes the Purchase request and sends via to the regional CYP Manager or Designee (whoever your Regional l CYP tells you to send all CDA or MSA request too may be the same person who does Tuition Assistance) OR sends the credential type & number via to the region follow local policy. ONLY REGION CAN SIGN FORM. STEP 2: Regional CYP Manager or Designee authorized the purchases against the contract based on the available number of supplies left in the regional allocation. The region is individually responsible for tracking allocations. 5 PURCHASING & AUTHORIZATIONS There are only 2 documents used to authorize expenditures against the contract: Purchase Request Credentialing Fee Authorization Both documents are initiated at the installation level and roll-up to the Region. Neither the Regional CYP nor the Designee should be initiating documents on the installations behalf.
6 FEE AUTHORIZATION AT WORK HOW THE FEE AUTHORIZATION PROCESS WORKS An eligible CYP Professional requests the Credentialing Fee Authorization i via the CYP chain of command. Installations will package all approved applications and submit to the Region CYP Manager. Regional CYP Manager or Designee reviews, reports authorizations to N926 to validate funding availability, and releases the fee back to the installation. Installation returns associated fees authorizations to respective CYP Professionals. need of the fee. Credentialing coversheet from the region to CNIC (N926) monthly reporting authorized credential and renewal fees per installation. Funding authorizations are due to N926 by the 5 th of each month for the month prior to the anticipated

9 CDA 2.0 Fact Remember as of June 1, CDA 2.0 will simply be called: Child Development Associate (CDA) National Credentialing System.

15 Renewal and In-Process RENEWALS The current CDA credentialing process applies to applications received on or before 31 May A Council Representative will conduct the verification visit, even after 1 June IN-PROCESS The CDA 2.0 Credentialing Process applies to applications received on or after 1 June The candidate will select a PD Specialist for the verification visit. The Exam is taken at a Pearson Vue center (Conus Sites) and Dantes Center (Oconus Sites).
16 PD Specialist Role Replaces the CDA Advisor and Council Representative position. Conducts verification visit using the ROR model. Completes and sends verification scores to Council online.
