3 KENTUCKY INFANT TODDLER NETWORK CABINET FOR HEALTH AND FAMILY SERVICES DIVISION OF CHILD CARE AND NETWORK SUPPORT SERVICES Child Care Subsidy Payments - for families needing assistance in paying for child care. Higher subsidy payments are awarded to providers, including providers caring for Infants and Toddlers, who obtain a quality STAR rating; Non-College Scholarships for entry level Commonwealth Child Care Credential and non-college CDA obtained from a cabinet approved training organization; Early Care and Education Credentials and Grants Commonwealth Credential, Director s Credential, Kentucky s Early Care and Education Trainer s Credential, National Accreditation Grants, and CDA assessment mini-grants; Registered Provider Newsletter issued quarterly includes information on best practice for child care providers including specific information on caring for Infant and Toddlers. Quality Enhancement Initiative (QEI) Services State wide program consisting of 4 STAR Anchors, 25 Quality STAR Coordinators providing TA for providers on quality child care and STARS, and 15 Professional Development Counselors providing scholarship, grant, and credential assistance. 25% of TA time is devoted to Infant Toddler initiatives. Child Care Resource & Referral Services offer Infant Toddler training to local area providers, consumer education materials for parents using infant toddler care, resource sharing library including an infant toddler inventory, database of infant toddler slots, and assist community in creating infant toddler care in underserved areas. Training Into Practice Project (TIPP) Training and review panel for the KY Trainer s Credential, Early Care and Education Assessment and Standards training, and annual Infant Toddler Conference. COLLABORATIVE PARTNERS & NETWORK SERVICES Assuring Maternal and Child Health Healthy Babies Campaign, Folic Acid Campaign, Substance abuse treatment program for pregnant and post-partum women, Universal Newborn Hearing Screening, Immunization Program for Underinsured Children, Eye Examinations for Children, and Oral Health Education and Prevention Program. Supporting Families - HANDS Home Visiting Program, Early Childhood Mental Health Program, Children s Advocacy Centers. Enhancing Early Care and Education STARS for KIDS NOW, College scholarship fund for providers, Increased Licensing Personnel, Healthy Start in Childcare, Community Early Childhood Council Funding, First Steps: Kentucky s Early Intervention System.
