3 The Oregon Registry Trainer Program Supports the development of quality learning experiences for professional development which are connected to the Oregon Registry Steps and are connected to the Core Body of Knowledge for Oregon Childhood Care and Education Professionals. 3
4 The Oregon Registry Trainer Program offers: Voluntary certification for trainers Supports for trainers Adult education principles and training techniques Training session development 4
5 In the Oregon Registry Trainer Program, There are three types of trainers: Standardized Trainers Community Trainers Master Trainers There are three types of training sessions: Standardized Training Community Training Master Training 5
6 Standardized Training Sessions are packaged presentations developed to meet statewide training needs. Currently, these sessions include: Building Blocks of Social and Emotional Development Child Care Health and Safety Early Brain Development Early Words: Language and Literacy First by Five: Infant/Toddler Recognizing and Reporting Child Abuse and Neglect TRAC training modules for inclusion and special needs...and more are being developed 6
7 Standardized Training Sessions Reflect the Core Body of Knowledge Reflect established adult education standards for presentations 7
8 Standardized Trainers Are approved and trained to offer the statewide standardized training sessions Meet qualifications in one of three ways: Experience as a trainer Experience in the field or in the core knowledge category of the training topic Formal education in the field or in adult education 8
9 Standardized Trainers Attend a training of trainers session Receive the packaged curriculum and presentation resources for the standardized training session 9
10 Community Training Sessions Are independent training sessions Reflect the Core Body of Knowledge for Set One Knowledge Standards Reflect established adult education standards for presentations 10
11 Community Trainers Are qualified in each of three areas: Experience as a trainer Experience in the field Education in the field They offer their own individual training sessions that meet Community Training sessions requirements. Community Trainers may also apply to offer Standardized Training sessions 11
12 Master Training Sessions Are independent, pre-approved training sessions Reflect the Core Body of Knowledge for Set Two or Set Three Knowledge Standards Reflect established adult education standards for presentations 12
13 Master Trainers Are qualified in each of three areas: Experience as an adult educator Experience in the field Education in the field They offer their own individual, preapproved training sessions 13
14 Master Trainers May offer pre-approved Master Training Sessions May offer Community Training Sessions May apply to offer Standardized Training sessions May offer Train the Trainer Sessions 14
15 Applying to the Oregon Registry Trainer Program Standardized Trainers Are recruited as needed to offer the standardized training sessions Application packets for standardized trainers are available only when there is a scheduled training of trainers When available, recruitment announcements and application packets are posted on the Oregon Center for Career Development Childhood Care and Education website ( 15
16 Applying to the Oregon Registry Trainer Program Community and Master Trainers apply by completing Enrollment Form Form A Form B (Community Trainers ONLY) Form C (Master Trainers ONLY) Form D, or Documentation and Form E 16
17 Community or Master Trainers who are independent trainers will: Submit documentation of their training experience, experience in the field, and education in the field Submit two professional references, using Form E 17
18 Trainers who are employed as trainers: May have their employers or supervisors complete Form D for a reference and for verification of qualifications Will not need to submit documentation of qualifications if their employer or supervisor completes Form D Will not need to submit Form E if their employer or supervisor completes Form D 18
19 The Oregon Registry Trainer Program Supports current trainers Encourages new trainers to apply Recruits trainers from all counties and service delivery areas with special efforts for trainers who will train in Spanish or other primary languages Rural and remote areas A variety of childhood care and education settings 19
