4 Overview of Program Services Revised September 2008 What is the Child Development Training Consortium (CDTC)? The CDTC is a statewide program funded by the California Department of Education, Child Development Division (CDE/CDD) with federal Child Care and Development Quality Improvement funds. The program is administered by the Yosemite Community College District and serves all of California. Since , the CDTC has also received funding from First 5 California. Funding for all program services is limited. All programs listed below are funded by CDE/CDD unless otherwise noted. The mission of the CDTC is to encourage and support students and professionals working with and for children by providing services, training, technical assistance, and resources, which promote professionalism and high quality programs for the benefit of California s children and families. What services does the CDTC provide? 1. Community College Program This program is available to fund specific educational costs at 96 community colleges throughout California. Access to this program is available through the CDTC Campus Coordinator designated at each of the colleges. For more information visit the CDTC website at or call (209) Career Incentive Grants This program reimburses eligible students the cost of their tuition, books, and other required enrollment fees. The types of grants (in priority order) are available to students who are: a. Recipients of permit waivers issued by the California Department of Education, Child Development Division (CDE/CDD). b. Attending non-cdtc community colleges. c. Attending 4-year colleges or universities or 4-year extension programs. The T&TA is available to county Children and Families Commission staff, CARES program administrators, community college faculty and staff, AB212 program staff and CARES participants. The T&TA includes the following components: a. Convening regional meetings to facilitate coordination and planning among county CARES programs. The meeting schedule is available at b. Hosting a technical assistance telephone warm-line. The warm-line is available from Monday to Friday 9:00 am - 5:00 pm.
