How to register for Real Programming 4 Kid s courses: 1. New students call for a Free Trial and Assessment Class at or Returning customers and New customers who have taken the assessment should call us to determine the available days and times and reserve space for courses. 3. 2 Please read our policies: Please go over these rules with your child In order to maintain excellent relationships with our host institutions and to achieve the best possible classes, for everyone, it is necessary for our parents and students to follow these rules and policies. 1. Parents of our students are responsible to ensure their child is equipped with a USB storage device. For safety sake, your son or daughter should bring home a back up of their game after each weekly class. RP4K will not be shipping out your child s game after the camp. RP4K will be ing out your child s report card. Students can obtain corresponding programming software from 2. Parents are responsible for checking holiday dates on our calendar at 3. Parents must provide a minimum 24 hour notice if a class must be missed. We will schedule a Make-Up Class for the student if required. We cannot provide refund for missed classes. 4. Our Make-Up Class Policy: A make-up class is 30 minutes 1-on-1. We allow for two make up classes in the Core program, and three make up classes in the Enhanced program for no extra fee. If you schedule make up classes beyond this allotment there are additional fees, based on the hourly rate for the course. Parents must provide a minimum 24 hour notice if a class must be missed. 5. Please make sure that you are on time when bringing or picking up your child. If you are late you are making other kids wait to begin a class that they consider to be valuable enough to be on time for. Please notify us in advance if your child can t make it to class. 6. We do not provide supervision for students before & after class times. Parents are responsible for their children outside the class times. This means that parents & guardians are responsible to drop off their children not more than 15 min prior to start time and are responsible to pick up their children not more than 15 min after end time. By signing below, the undersigned hereby agrees that he or she shall be responsible for escorting his/her child to and from their class inside the premises where RP4K camps are held. When dropping off their children parents are responsible to escort their children until they are inside the RP4K lab. When picking up their children parents are responsible to enter the facility and escort their children outside the facility. Please do not allow your child to remain at our Program for more than 15 minutes before, and 15 minutes after their class begins/ends. We can not monitor students not in class for extended periods of time and take no responsibility for the actions outside of our stated class times. 7. Please park in designated parking only. Should you need instructions on where to park, please speak with the supervisor at your location. Use the designated entrance when bringing or picking up your child 8. Parents can quietly sit in on the classes for observation purposes but parents must remain in the class area of the building. 9. Parents cannot interfere with the teaching if they choose to observe the class. Only students are allowed to use the school computers; parents are not allowed to use the computers. Please use the designated areas while waiting for your child. Should you need instructions on where these areas are, please speak with us. 10. No consumption of food or drinks is allowed in the computer labs. 11. Our students must be on their best behavior almost all the time, however should your child cause unnecessary disruptions during a class, we will call home to notify the parent. No foul language, intimidation of other students, interference with other students or abuse of the computer labs will be tolerated. Real Programming 4 Kids reserves the right to remove a student from a course for unacceptable behavior without refund. 12. We cannot guarantee completion of the course project over the length of our Core program. The pace of the class is dependent on the students. 13. Access to the Internet is strictly monitored. Use of sites showcasing illegal or explicit material is not allowed. 14. There is a $25. fee for NSF cheques. Late payment charges of 2% monthly will be applied on overdue balances. 15. Deposits are non-refundable less than 2 weeks before your first class. 16. Refund Policy: You must notify us if you are withdrawing your child from classes. Your refund will be calculated as the number of remaining weeks minus a withdrawal penalty of 6 weeks. 17. Exception to 13 & 14: If after ATTENDING the first 2 classes of a course, then as long as you withdraw your child before the 3 rd class, you can receive a 100% refund, with penalty waived and no loss of deposit. Real Programming 4 Kids will determine course start dates, & we will contact you with your child s start date. We generally contact you within two weeks prior to the start date of your child s fall course. Generally courses will start in October We also usually wait for at least 2 to 4 compatible kids before starting a course. We always accept that that there will be some classes with just 1 or 2 students. Maximum class size of 4 students per instructor. (No minimum class size.) 4 Discounts and Tax Credits: 15% Trailblazer discount for full payment before July 15 th (trail blazers also get first choice to day and time) 10% Early Bird discount for full payment before August 12 th % Veteran Student Discount: A Veteran Student is defined as an RP4K student who has taken at least two different RP4K courses. 10% Expert Student Discount: An Expert Student is defined as an RP4K student who has taken at least four different RP4K courses. Group Discounts: Applies to two or more students signing up together spearheaded by one guardian who single handedly schedules the 2, 3, or 4 member group. All students must be in the same class. o o o Group of 2: 5% Discount for each of 2 Students Group of 3: 10% Discount for each of 3 Students Group of 4: 15% Discount for each of 4 Students Family Discounts: 5% Discount for each sibling signed up. Only one percentage discount can apply: The preceding percentage discounts can not be combined. You can only receive one of the preceding discounts. We always apply the best available discount. Referral Discount: RP4K appreciates referrals. If you are a first time RP4K customer that was referred by an existing RP4K customer you will receive a $50 credit towards your first RP4K course. In addition the referring family also receives a $50 credit on their next RP4K course. This discount can be combined with our percentage discounts. 5 Core and Enhanced Programs: During our 18 class Core Program students will learn a set of key programming concepts for their course. In the Enhanced Program (27 classes) our students will learn even more and take the core concepts further. Our Enhanced students will also be able to design and add their own personal customizations to their video game project. During the Enhanced portion of the course students will really stretch their wings and develop valuable independent programming skills. Families signing up for the Enhanced program are also eligible for lower hourly rates which are detailed below.
