2 Dear Participant On behalf of the Turkmenistan s National Gas Company, Turkmengas, we would like to welcome you to the 7 th Turkmenistan Gas Congress This Travel Manual has been prepared for your convenience to accommodate your safe and secure visit to Turkmenistan. The Turkmenistan Gas Congress 2016 will be held in Turkmenbashi, Avaza region, Berkarar Hotel. The organizing committee has secured rooms at the venue hotels in Avaza, as well as in Ashgabat. We will assist you with internal flight bookings from Ashgabat to Turkmenbashi, Avaza. On the following pages you may find all required travel information. 3 Important Visa Information Everyone travelling to Turkmenistan needs a visa. This is a 2 stage process. Firstly you must obtain a visa invitation letter which can take 4 weeks and then you need to obtain a visa stamped in your passport which can take a further 7 working days. You cannot obtain a visa without a visa invitation letter. APPLYING FOR VISA INVITATION LETTER The organising committee is providing visa invitation letters and support for all registered participants. A visa invitation letter processing fee of will apply to each visa application unless accommodation is booked concurrently in which case the visa invitation letter fee will not apply. Documents required: 1. Visa application form duly filled-in in WORD FORMAT by each person requiring a visa 2. Clear scanned COLOUR copy of the passport for each person requiring a visa. Passport must be valid at least 6 (six) months prior to travel. 3. All Pakistan citizens required to provide a medical certificate against poliomyelitis (polio) in order to apply for visa invitation letter. 4. Hotel booking confirmation On receipt of your completed form and documents we will submit your application to the Turkmenistan Authorities. Once your travel is approved by the Turkmenistan Authorities, we will contact you with further instructions and you the Visa Invitation Letter. OBTAINING TURKMEN VISA Your Passport must be valid until at least 3 months after your exit date from Turkmenistan and must have at least one blank visa page. Once you have your visa invitation letter you can then either: Visit your local Turkmenistan Embassy with a copy of your visa invitation letter to get a visa stamped in your passport. This can take up to 7 working days. Obtain your visa on arrival. You can travel to Turkmenistan with your visa invitation letter and obtain a visa on arrival at the airport. page 2

4 Important Visa Information REGISTRATION WITH OVIR SERVICE If you stay in Turkmenistan for over 72 hours you must also register with the local authorities WITHIN 72 hours. Please note the date of the arrival and the weekends (Saturday and Sunday) do not count in the time restriction of 72 hours for registration. The Organising Committee will register only those delegates who applied for visa invitation letters through Turkmengas. The registration will be organized by Turkmengas and delegates are not required to provide any documents. NB: If you do not register your passport & your stay is over 72 hours, you will experience problems on departure from Turkmenistan. page 3

5 Hotel Accommodation in Avaza BERKARAR HOTEL City Turkmenbashi Avaza region, Turkmenistan The Berkarar Hotel has been appointed as an official congress venue for TGC 2016 Located in the northern part of the sea resort, the grandiose recreation centre includes the brand new five-star hotel, conference facilities and over 30 cultural, entertainment, sports and health-improving amenities. The hotel offers 183 rooms that have been booked by organising committee for the congress participants. Room facilities include: air condition, shower, minibar, room service, telephone system. Hotel facilities include: restaurants, bar, cafe, spa, indoor and outdoor swimming pool. Internet is available on communal areas of the hotel. 6 Hotel Accommodation in Avaza YELKEN YACHT CLUB City Turkmenbashi Avaza region, Turkmenistan Yelken Yacht Club is the most comprehensive and comfortable facility in the Avaza region, which has been booked by organising committee for the congress participants. The club meets international standards and offers a luxury accommodation on the coast of the Caspian Sea. The shuttle buses will be provided between Yelken Club and congress venue. Each villa has 3 luxury bedrooms with en-suite bathroom and a common area living room, kitchen and a terrace. It creates a feeling of a private mini hotel. 11 Hotel Accommodation in Ashgabat AK ALTYN HOTEL Magtumguli Avenue, No 141/1, Ashgabat, Turkmenistan Built in 1994, the Ak-Altyn Hotel is located about 1km from the city centre. This hotel is decorated in contemporary style and the 136 rooms. It has three restaurants serving a variety of international and local dishes, bar, casino, health club, swimming pool and business centre. Rooms have - air-conditioning, individual heating, DDI telephone and satellite TV. 12 2016 Flight Information The Turkmenistan Gas Congress 2016 will be held in Turkmenbashi, Avaza region. There are no international flights available at the Turkmenbashi airport and all international delegates will have to fly to Turkmenbashi via Ashgabat. Flight time is 1 hour. The organising committee has secured internal flights for congress participants with Turkmenistan Airlines.
