See Upgrade scenario 2 (UBA packs only) on page 19 for more details. Netflow IPFIX upgrade scenario 1 - Refer to the 4.3-U/4.3-V technology pack installation appendix proided in the or IBM Tioli Netcool/Proiso: Installation Guide. You need these instructions to upgrade (install) the 4.3-V ersions of these packs. Refer to the IBM Tioli Netcool/Proiso: Installation Guide to install Tioli Netcool/Proiso Alcatel-Lucent 5620 SAM upgrade scenario and Netflow IPFIX upgrade scenario 2 - There is no need to refer to the IBM Tioli Netcool/Proiso: Installation Guide because you are not upgrading the Alcatel-Lucent 5620 SAM Technology Pack or Netflow IPFIX Technology Pack in these scenarios. Essential information in Tioli Netcool/Proiso pre-fix pack 3 ReadMe The Tioli Netcool/Proiso pre-fix pack 3 ReadMe contains the instructions for updating Tioli Netcool/Proiso to pre-fix pack 3. See Essential information in the technology pack release notes on page 12 for the URL to the site address for interim fixes and fix packs. Current limitations with Tioli Netcool/Proiso fix pack 1 and pre-fix pack 3 Starting in 4.3-U, each UBA technology pack is deliered with an XML Schema Definition (XSD) file. Each pack's XSD file describes and alidates pack-specific parameters (referred to as properties in the Topology Editor enironment) using an XML format. Typical pack-specific properties defined in these XSD files include DELETEONACQUIRE, DESIGNFILE, and URI. In fact, the pack-specific properties defined in XSD files map almost one-to-one with the UBA pack-specific parameters deliered in UBA pack dc.cfg template files. Using the Topology Editor, you add a UBA Collector for a specific UBA pack. This task inoles loading the pack's XSD file into an existing topology configuration (represented by the topology.xml file). After you load the pack's XSD file, the Topology Editor displays all of the pack-specific UBA properties. Using the Topology Editor, you modify these pack-specific UBA properties. When you deploy a topology configuration using a topology.xml file, the alues specified for these properties are written to the database. The Topology Editor makes it easier for you to supply site-specific alues to these UBA properties because there is a built-in logic in the XSD files. For example, the DESIGNFILE property definition in the XSD file is set to read-only because the alue for this property must neer be changed. The Topology Editor enforces that state by displaying the property and its alue as read-only. Chapter 2. Upgrading technology packs on Tioli Netcool/Proiso fix pack 1 or pre-fix pack 3 13

22 The preious scenario describes a new installation of Tioli Netcool/Proiso core components and a UBA technology pack. When you upgrade to Tioli Netcool/Proiso fix pack 1 or pre-fix pack 3, howeer, the following limitations exist: Limitations with the way the Topology Editor treats pack-specific UBA parameters Limitations with UBA parameter key/alue pairs Limitations with how the Topology Editor treats UBA pack-specific parameters When you upgrade Tioli Netcool/Proiso MR1 or earlier, fix pack 1 or later, or to Tioli Netcool/Proiso fix pack 1 or pre-fix pack 3, no XSDs are assigned to deployed UBA Collectors. In this case, the Topology Editor treats pack-specific UBA properties for deployed UBA packs as free form, custom settings. Thus, the Topology Editor cannot proide the appropriate alidation of settings as it normally would during a typical pack installation. Table 6 describes the current limitations associated with how the Topology Editor treats UBA pack-specific property settings for the upgrade scenarios described in Upgrade scenarios for Tioli Netcool/Proiso and technology packs on page 3. Note: SNMP technology packs do not hae associated XSD files. Table 6. Current limitations with Topology Editor and UBA pack-specific properties Upgrade scenario Upgrade Scenario 1 Current limitations (UBA Packs Only) The Topology Editor treats the UBA pack-specific property settings for currently deployed UBA packs as free form, custom settings because there are no XSD files associated with the UBA Collectors. There is nothing you need to do with these custom settings. Howeer, if you want to modify any of the UBA pack-specific property settings, you would need to modify the custom setting, which means the Topology Editor cannot proide the appropriate alidation of settings as it normally would during a typical pack installation. In addition, the Topology Editor cannot display any associated Help text. In this case, you would need to refer to the UBA Parameters Reference (Tioli Netcool Performance Manager 443 and Higher) appendix in this UBA pack's user guide. 14 IBM Tioli Netcool Performance Manager: Pack Upgrade Guide

23 Table 6. Current limitations with Topology Editor and UBA pack-specific properties (continued) Upgrade scenario Upgrade Scenario 2 Current limitations (UBA Packs Only) The Topology Editor treats the UBA pack-specific property settings for the upgraded UBA pack as free form, custom settings because there is no XSD file associated with the deployed UBA Collector. In this scenario, you need to erify (using the dc.cfg template file) that the site-specific alues for the pack-specific UBA properties are correct, as discussed in Upgrade scenario 1 (SNMP and UBA technology packs) on page 17. Note: The Topology Editor identifies custom properties with a check mark in the Is Custom column of the Properties and Adanced Properties tabs. Limitations with UBA pack-specific parameter key/alue pairs Design changes in Tioli Netcool/Proiso affect UBA pack-specific parameter key/alue pairs as follows: Each UBA parameter key/alue pair is limited to 40 characters. Each UBA parameter key must be specified in uppercase. Note: For the Alcatel-Lucent 5620 SAM Technology Pack, the preious limitations also apply to the BLB and SAMIF key/alue pairs. The following example shows a UBA pack-specific parameter key/alue pair from the Alcatel-Lucent 5620 SAM Technology Pack's dc.cfg template file that adheres to the preiously described limitations: UBA ALCATEL_5620_SAM.SAM_EQUIPMENT_INTERFACE.DELETEONACQUIRE=true In this example, the key/alue pair consists of the pack-specific UBA parameter DELETEONACQUIRE and its associated alue true. The Add Custom Property for UBA Collector wizard displays. f. The wizard displays three fields: Name - Specifies the pack-specific UBA property to associate with a UBA pack sub-element. Value - Specifies the alue associated with this pack-specific UBA property. Alias - Specifies the name of the property that the Topology Editor displays in the Property iew. Valid alues include the pack-specific UBA property name specified in the Name field or descriptie text. g. Specify the name of the new UBA pack-specific parameter in the Name field. In this example, the name specified would be ERRORFILEMAX. Chapter 2. Upgrading technology packs on Tioli Netcool/Proiso fix pack 1 or pre-fix pack 3 17

26 Note: Do not enter the channel number (<CHANNEL>, collector number(<collector>, instance (UNIV_WAN_MGR, and schema(avail) inthe Name field. h. Specify a alue in the Alias field according to the preiously discussed guidelines. In this example, ERRORFILEMAX is specified. i. Click Finish. 5. (Optional) If you must delete (remoe) a custom property, follow these steps: a. Open the Topology Editor. b. Open the topology associated with the UBA pack you upgraded. c. In the Application Pack iew, select the UBA pack you upgraded. d. Display the COLLECTOR_UBA.x.x entry. The DataChannel core and pack-specific parameters display in the properties window. e. DESIGNFILE= CienaAdaptor.js Topology Editor property INSTANCES=CIENA_DEVICE CIENA_DEVICE. DESIGNFILE= CienaAdaptor.js Comments The INSTANCES parameter used to be an arbitrary string as illustrated by the string streaming specified in the template file parameter. The conention now is to use a string that represents the name of the technology pack, as illustrated by the Topology Editor property alue, CIENA_DEVICE. Note: It is not necessary to specify the channel number, collector number, and schema in the alues for the Topology Editor properties. See Step 4-g for an example of how to enter the name of a new UBA pack-specific parameter. The Bulk Adaptor Design file (in this case, CienaAdaptor.js) must be the same in both the template file parameter and the Topology Editor property. 18 IBM Tioli Netcool Performance Manager: Pack Upgrade Guide

27 Table 7. Example Mappings for Ciena Transmission Technology Pack (continued) Template file parameter Topology Editor property Comments UBA streaming.CEMS.URI= file:///export/ home/puser/ uba_files/cems/ input/*.cs CIENA_DEVICES.CEMS.URI=$5f $4/*.cs The alue in the template file for the URI parameter is typically an example URL specification. The URI property in the Topology Editor is typically read-only and its associated alue is a concatenation of the following properties: INPUT_USE_SECURE_FTP ($5) INPUT_FTP_HOST ($3) INPUT_FTP_USERNAME ($1) INPUT_FTP_PASSWORD ($2) INPUT_DIRECTORY ($4) Note: The alues ($1 through $5) specified here are taken from the Ciena Transmission Technology Pack's XSD file to show the concatenation of properties. Because there is no XSD, you must specify the URL specification in the URI property, not the indiidual properties listed aboe. UBA streaming. DELETEONACQUIRE= false CIENA_DEVICE.CEMS. DELEATEONACQUIRE=false In this example, the DELETEONACQUIRE parameter in the template file and the Topology Editor property hae the same alue (false). This might not always be the case. Upgrade scenario 2 (UBA packs only) Before you begin The Topology Editor maintains the association with the existing XSD file. Therefore, it erifies the alues currently specified for the UBA pack-specific property settings. In this scenario, you perform the following steps: Currently you deployed 4.3-U UBA technology packs running on Tioli Netcool/Proiso Completed the update of Tioli Netcool/Proiso to pre-fix pack 3 by following the instructions in the pre-fix pack 3 ReadMe Want to upgrade currently deployed 4.3-U technology packs to 4.3-V or later About this task To upgrade currently deployed 4.3-U technology packs to 4.3-V or later, follow these steps: Procedure 1. Update the UBA technology pack metadata by following these steps: a. Open the Topology Editor. b. Create a new empty topology by selecting File > create new topology. Retain the default number of resources as this operation is only necessary to populate the Application Pack iew. Chapter 2. Upgrading technology packs on Tioli Netcool/Proiso fix pack 1 or pre-fix pack 3 19

28 c. In the Application Pack iew, right-click the Application Packs folder and select Load Application Pack from the menu. d. Note: Before Tioli Netcool/Proiso fix pack 3 or Tioli Netcool Performance Manager, some of the upgrade scenarios caused the Topology Editor to treat these pack-specific UBA properties as free from custom properties. Thus, the Topology Editor was unable to display the associated Help. For information about how Tioli Netcool/Proiso fix pack 3 or Tioli Netcool Performance Manager corrects these limitations, see Topology Editor and UBA pack-specific properties on page IBM Tioli Netcool Performance Manager: Pack Upgrade Guide

39 Essential information in pack release notes The following information in the pack release notes is essential when performing a pack upgrade: Complete list of Supported technology packs table - The following columns of the table are of particular interest: Technology pack - Specifies the name of the technology pack. Type - Specifies the type of technology pack you are upgrading. The pack configuration steps and technology pack upgrade steps differ, depending on the technology pack type. Upgradeable from - Indicates whether the pack you are upgrading supports an upgrade path. If this column displays No upgrade path, then this technology pack does not support an upgrade. The pack upgrade procedures described in this chapter do not succeed. Dependencies - Specifies whether the pack has any dependencies. For example, some packs require that the MIB-II technology pack to be installed. Interim fixes for Tioli Netcool/Proiso and Interim fixes for Tioli Netcool Performance Manager 1.3 and aboe table - The following columns of the table are of particular interest: Pack - Gies the name of the technology Pack Interim fix - Gies the name of the interim fix for that technology pack Important: Before upgrading (installing) any technology pack, check the Tioli Netcool Performance Manager product support site for the latest interim fixes. Since status of interim fixes is subject to change at any time, it is important that you do this procedure. The site address is: NetcoolProiso.html Note: To receie announcements about new interim fixes, you might sign up for updates or subscribe to the Tioli Netcool Performance Manager support RSS feed. These options are aailable on the support page. Essential Information in the Installation Guide The following information is essential to performing a technology pack upgrade: For Upgrade Scenario 1 - Refer to the appropriate technology pack installation appendix proided in the IBM Tioli Netcool Performance Manager: Installation Guide. Because there is an existing UBA collector, you can skip the section that describes how to add UBA collectors. See Upgrade scenario 1 (SNMP and UBA technology packs) (except Alcatel-Lucent 5620 SAM, Netflow IPFIX) on page 43 for more details. For Upgrade Scenario 2, Alcatel-Lucent 5620 SAM Upgrade Scenario, and Netflow Upgrade Scenario 2- Refer to the appropriate technology pack installation appendix proided in the IBM Tioli Netcool Performance Manager: Installation Guide. Because you are instructed on how to associate an existing XSD file with the upgraded pack XSD file, you can skip the section that describes how to add UBA collectors. See Upgrade scenario 2 (UBA packs only) (Including Alcatel-Lucent 5620 SAM, Netflow IPFIX) on page 53 for more details. Chapter 3. Upgrading technology packs on Tioli Netcool/Proiso fix pack 3 or Tioli Netcool Performance Manager 31

40 Essential information in the Tioli Netcool/Proiso fix pack 3 or Tioli Netcool Performance Manager ReadMe The Tioli Netcool/Proiso fix pack ReadMe contains the instructions for updating Tioli Netcool/Proiso to the latest fix pack (in this case fix pack 3 or Tioli Netcool Performance Manager). See Essential information in pack release notes on page 31 for the URL to the site address for interim fixes and fix packs. Topology Editor and UBA pack-specific properties Starting from 4.3-U, each UBA technology pack deliers with an XML Schema Definition (XSD) file. Each pack XSD file describes and alidates pack-specific parameters (referred to as properties in the Topology Editor enironment) using an XML format. Typical pack-specific properties defined in these XSD files include DELETEONACQUIRE, DESIGNFILE, and URI. Note: Before Tioli Netcool/Proiso 4.4.3, you added the pack-specific UBA parameters deliered in the pack template file to the deployed dc.cfg file. This is no longer required in Tioli Netcool/Proiso Using the Topology Editor, you add a UBA collector for a specific UBA pack. This task inoles loading the pack XSD file into an existing topology configuration (represented by the topology.xml file). After you load the pack XSD file, the Topology Editor displays all of the pack-specific UBA properties. For some more complicated UBA technology packs, adding a UBA collector causes the Topology Editor to also display pack-specific BLB (Bulk Load Balancer) and IF (Inentory File) properties. Using the Topology Editor, you modify these pack-specific UBA properties (and pack-specific BLB and IF properties if the pack defines these components in its XSD file). The preious scenario describes a new installation of Tioli Netcool/Proiso core components and a UBA technology pack. Before Tioli Netcool/Proiso fix pack 3 or Tioli Netcool Performance Manager, when you upgraded to Tioli Netcool/Proiso fix pack 1 or pre-fix pack 3 the following limitations existed: Limitations with the way the Topology Editor treated pack-specific UBA parameters Limitations with UBA parameter key/alue pairs Tioli Netcool/Proiso fix pack 3 or Tioli Netcool Performance Manager remoes the limitations with the way the Topology Editor treats pack-specific parameters by proiding a feature in the Topology Editor called the Technology pack XSD upgrade wizard. Howeer, Tioli Netcool/Proiso fix pack 3 or Tioli Netcool Performance Manager does not remoe the limitations with UBA parameter key/alue pairs. 32 IBM Tioli Netcool Performance Manager: Pack Upgrade Guide

41 The following sections describe the Technology pack XSD upgrade wizard and the Limitations associated with UBA parameter key/alue pairs. Technology pack XSD upgrade wizard The GUI and Technology Pack Installer (introduced in Tioli Netcool/Proiso and 4.3-U) make it easier to install and configure technology packs. The current technology pack release continues to take adantage of the graphical user interface (GUI) and the Technology Pack Installer single installation utility. The following list highlights GUI tools that help improe the installation and upgrade of technology packs: Launchpad - The launchpad, an HTML-based application, is the preferred method for installing technology packs. The launchpad proides an option for starting the Technology Pack Installer, which installs bundled and stand-alone technology packs. Topology Editor - In addition to improing the installation of Tioli Netcool Performance Manager components (DataChannel, DataView, and DataMart), the Topology Editor (accessed through the launchpad) makes it easier to add UBA collectors for UBA technology packs. Using the Topology Editor, you modify pack-specific UBA parameters (also referred to as properties). When you deploy a topology configuration using a topology.xml file, the alues specified for these parameters are written to the database. On Tioli Netcool/Proiso systems, there is no need to edit pack-specific UBA parameters in the pack template file and copy these edits to the dc.cfg file. In Tioli Netcool/Proiso fix pack 3 or Tioli Netcool Performance Manager the Topology Editor includes a Technology pack XSD upgrade wizard that makes it easier to deal with UBA pack-specific properties. Before Tioli Netcool/Proiso fix pack 3 or Tioli Netcool Performance Manager, when you upgraded to Tioli Netcool/Proiso from a preious ersion of Tioli Netcool/Proiso, no XSDs were assigned to the deployed UBA collectors. In this case, the Topology Editor treated pack-specific UBA properties for deployed UBA packs as free form, custom settings. Thus, the Topology Editor might not proide the appropriate alidation of settings as it normally would during a typical pack installation. Because the Technology pack XSD upgrade wizard is included as part of the Topology Editor in Tioli Netcool/Proiso fix pack 3 or Tioli Netcool Performance Manager, there is no need to start a separate utility. You start the Topology Editor as described in the IBM Tioli Netcool Performance Manager: Installation Guide. The Technology pack XSD upgrade wizard is automatically started when, in the Application Packs iew, you right-click the Application Packs folder and select Associate components with new AP from the menu. Note: Typically, you use the technology pack XSD upgrade wizard with upgrade scenario 2, specifically to upgrade UBA packs. For more information, see Upgrade currently deployed UBA technology packs to 4.3-U or later on page 44. Note: SNMP technology packs do not hae associated XSD files. The technology pack XSD upgrade wizard remoes the preiously described limitations from upgrade scenario 2, as described in Table 12 on page 34. Chapter 3. Upgrading technology packs on Tioli Netcool/Proiso fix pack 3 or Tioli Netcool Performance Manager 33

42 Table 12. Remoal of limitations with Topology Editor and UBA pack-specific properties Upgrade scenario Upgrade scenario 2 Limitations (UBA packs only) before fix pack 3 or Tioli Netcool Performance Manager The Topology Editor treated the UBA pack-specific property settings for the upgraded UBA pack as free form, custom settings because there was no XSD file associated with the deployed UBA collector. Note: The Topology Editor identifies custom properties with a check mark in the Is Custom column of the Properties and Adanced Properties tabs. Remoal of limitations (UBA packs only) fix pack 3 or Tioli Netcool Performance Manager First, you load a technology pack XSD file into the Topology Editor. Then, the Technology pack XSD upgrade wizard is automatically started when, in the Application Packs iew, you right-click the Application Packs folder and select Associate components with new AP from the menu. You associate one of the listed UBA collectors with this technology pack XSD file. (You configured this UBA collector in MR1 or earlier, fix pack 1 or later, or and upgraded it to Tioli Netcool/Proiso fix pack 3 or Tioli Netcool Performance Manager). The Technology pack XSD upgrade wizard displays: UBA pack-specific properties with Green check mark icons, indicating that the property alues are alid. The wizard obtains these alues from the corresponding UBA pack-specific parameters specified in the dc.cfg file. You hae the option to erify and/or change these alues. UBA pack-specific properties with Red X icons for any properties where the XSD does not proide a default alue or the alue is missing or is incorrect. Ideally, there must be few or zero properties with Red X icons where alues are missing or are incorrect. A property might display with a Red X icon if the XSD file defines a property without a corresponding parameter in the dc.cfg file. You use the Topology Editor Help to specify appropriate alues for all UBA pack-specific properties that display with Red X icons. UBA pack-specific properties with a check mark in the Is Custom column of the Properties and Adanced Properties tabs. Ideally, there must be few or zero custom properties. 34 IBM Tioli Netcool Performance Manager: Pack Upgrade Guide

43 Before you begin a technology pack upgrade About this task Before upgrading a technology pack, ensure that you hae done the following steps: Procedure Consulted the latest ersion of the IBM Tioli Netcool Performance Manager: Pack Release Notes. For more information about specific sections to consult before performing the pack upgrade, see Essential information in pack release notes on page 31. Consulted with your IBM Professional Serices representatie before upgrading a technology pack. Your IBM Professional Serices Representatie makes use of the documentation sources described in Documents you need to perform a technology pack upgrade on page 27. CAUTION: If you hae a customized technology pack installed at your site with modified content, it is oerwritten if the same pack is upgraded to a later ersion. Check with your IBM customer serice representatie before upgrading an existing technology pack to a later ersion. The correct ersion of Jaa. See Essential information in pack release notes on page 31 for more information. Note: For 4.3-W and 4.3-X Technology packs the launchpad requires you to enter the path to supported Jaa runtime binaries. Only ersions 1.4.2_b(17+) and 1.5.0_b(14+) are supported. The Topology Editor proides a supported ersion of the Jaa binaries. Note: Note: For 4.3-Y, 4.3-Z, 1.3-A technology packs the launchpad requires you to enter the path to supported Jaa runtime binaries. Only ersion 1.5.0_b(14+) is supported. The Tioli Netcool/Proiso Topology Editor proides a supported ersion of the Jaa binaries. Using Jaa ersion 1.4 results in an error detailing that it is not possible to proceed with the installation. Access to the product distribution site: On the product distribution site are the ProisoPackInstaller.jar file, the bundled JAR file, and indiidual stand-alone technology pack JAR files. Access to the following site to check for interim fixes or fix packs that might apply to your technology pack: NetcoolProiso.html See Documents you need to perform a technology pack upgrade on page 27 for more information. Access to the Tioli Netcool Performance Manager documentation, technology pack user' guides, and technology pack release notes, which are aailable at the following site: com.ibm.netcool_proiso.doc/welcome.htm For more information about what to look for in the documents required for pack upgrades, see Documents you need to perform a technology pack upgrade on page 27. 44 Used the following GUI components that were introduced in Tioli Netcool/Proiso 4.4.3: Topology Editor, including: - How to work with UBA technology pack XSD files (see Limitations with UBA pack-specific parameter key/alue pairs on page 34 for current limitations.) - How to work with custom properties Note: Because the Technology Pack XSD Upgrade wizard is included as part of the Topology Editor in Tioli Netcool/Proiso fix pack 3 or Tioli Netcool Performance Manager, there is no need to start a separate utility. You start the Topology Editor as described in the IBM Tioli Netcool/Proiso: Installation Guide. The Technology pack XSD Upgrade wizard is automatically started when, in the Application Packs iew, you right-click the Application Packs folder and select Associate components with new AP from the menu. You are instructed on how to do this in Upgrade currently deployed UBA technology packs to 4.3-U or later on page 44 and Upgrade a currently deployed Nortel CS2000 UBA technology pack to 4.3-U or later on page 49 Read and understood the upgrade scenarios described in this chapter. Before you begin upgrade scenario 2 (UBA packs only) About this task In addition to the prerequisite tasks described in Before you begin a technology pack upgrade on page 35, you must also perform the prerequisite tasks described in the following sections before performing the steps described in Upgrade currently deployed UBA technology packs to 4.3-U or later on page 44 and/or Upgrade a currently deployed Nortel CS2000 UBA technology pack to 4.3-U or later on page 49. Before you begin upgrading a currently deployed UBA technology pack to 4.3-U or later About this task Before upgrading a currently deployed UBA technology pack to 4.3-U or later, ensure that you hae done the following: For UBA packs that require one UBA collector - Identified the UBA collector subchannel you configured for the pack. For UBA packs that require multiple UBA collectors - Identified the UBA collector subchannels you configured for the pack. For UBA packs that require a UBA collector, BLB (Bulk Load Balancer), and IF (Inentory File) - Identified the UBA collector subchannel, BLB, and IF you configured for the pack. You configured the UBA collector or collectors (and BLB and IF, if required) in Tioli Netcool/Proiso MR1 or earlier, fix pack 1 or later, or and upgraded it to Tioli Netcool/Proiso fix pack 3 or Tioli Netcool Performance Manager. The Topology Editor technology pack XSD upgrade wizard requires you to select this UBA collector or collectors in one of the steps described in Upgrade currently deployed UBA technology packs to 4.3-U or later on page IBM Tioli Netcool Performance Manager: Pack Upgrade Guide

Chapter 3. Upgrading technology packs on Tioli Netcool/Proiso fix pack 3 or Tioli Netcool Performance Manager 37

46 Uniersal Signaling Point (USP) - The UBA collector executing on this subchannel retriees Bulk input files generated by the USP deice. Nortel CS2000 Performance - The UBA collector executing on this subchannel retriees Bulk input files generated by the Nortel CS2000 Performance deice. Nortel Integrated Element Management System (IEMS) - The UBA collector executing on this subchannel retriees Bulk input files generated by the Nortel CS2000 IEMS deice. Nortel SSL (Session Serer Line) - The UBA collector executing on this subchannel retriees Bulk input files generated by the Nortel SSL deice. CAUTION: The following two UBA Collectors, SST and CPR, are only applicable for 4.3-X, 4.3-Y or later technology packs. Nortel SST (Nortel Session Serer Trunk) - The UBA collector executing on this subchannel retriees Bulk input files generated by the Nortel SST deice. Note: The Nortel CS2000 Technology Pack introduced support for a new UBA deice called Nortel SST (Session Serer Trunk) starting in 4.3-X. Nortel Common Performance Reporting (CPR) - CPR is a log format. The bulk input files generated by the PVG deice are manipulated by the IEMS system and conerted into CPR format. Nortel recommends that the CPR log format be manipulated ia the IEMS system, instead of directly from the MDM. So this is facilitated by the CPR Adaptor. Note: The CPR Adaptor is also somewhat of a generic adaptor as it can be used to support SST data in CPR format. One instance of the CPR Adaptor can simultaneously support both CPR and SST formats. Identified multiple UBA collectors for the Nortel Succession Communication Serer 2000 (CS2K) CDR deice. The UBA collectors executing on these subchannels retriee Bulk input files generated by the Nortel CS2000 CDR deice. Typically, you configured multiple UBA collectors for the Nortel CS2K CDR deice to handle a large olume of records the UBA collectors need to process. If there are large olumes of records, you most likely considered adding three or four UBA collectors. Identified the primary or master UBA collector. The primary UBA collector subchannel is the subchannel to which all of the other UBA collector subchannels are aliased to. The primary UBA collector subchannel for the Nortel CS2000 Technology Pack is the one associated with the Nortel CS2K stray handler. Note: The Nortel CS2K Stray Handler must share the same collector alias as you defined for the CS2K CDR deice. You configured the UBA collectors for the Nortel CS2000 technology pack in Tioli Netcool/Proiso MR1 or earlier, fix pack 1 or later, or and upgraded it to fix pack 3 or Tioli Netcool Performance Manager. The Topology Editor technology pack XSD upgrade wizard requires you to select these UBA collectors and the primary UBA collector (the Nortel CS2K Stray Handler) in the steps described in Upgrade currently deployed UBA technology packs to 4.3-U or later on page IBM Tioli Netcool Performance Manager: Pack Upgrade Guide

Standard procedure for upgrading technology packs The following sections discuss how to upgrade technology packs according to the following scenarios: Upgrade scenario 1 (SNMP and UBA technology packs) (except Alcatel-Lucent 5620 SAM, Netflow IPFIX) Upgrade scenario 2 (UBA packs only) (Including Alcatel-Lucent 5620 SAM, Netflow IPFIX) on page 53 Upgrade scenario 1 (SNMP and UBA technology packs) (except Alcatel-Lucent 5620 SAM, Netflow IPFIX) About this task You are currently running Tioli Netcool/Proiso MR1 or earlier, fix pack 1 or later, or You want to do the following: Upgrade to Tioli Netcool/Proiso fix pack 3 or Tioli Netcool Performance Manager (which you do before performing the pack upgrade by following the instructions in IBM Tioli Netcool Performance Manager: Upgrade Guide that relates to your ersion of Tioli Netcool Performance Manager). Upgrade currently deployed technology packs to 4.3-U or later. Important: See Upgrading the Alcatel-Lucent 5620 SAM Technology Pack on page 24 and Upgrading the Netflow IPFIX Technology Pack on page 25 for instructions on how to perform the upgrade scenarios for these technology packs. Refer to the following sections for upgrade instructions: Chapter 3. Upgrading technology packs on Tioli Netcool/Proiso fix pack 3 or Tioli Netcool Performance Manager 43

52 Upgrade currently deployed SNMP technology packs to 4.3-U or later: About this task To upgrade currently deployed SNMP technology packs to 4.3-U or later, follow these steps: Upgrade the technology pack to 4.3-U or later by installing the 4.3-U or later SNMP pack, following the instructions in the appropriate technology pack installation appendix proided in the IBM Tioli Netcool Performance Manager: Installation Guide. Configure the 4.3-U or later SNMP technology pack you upgraded (installed), by referring to the configuration chapter in the IBM Tioli Netcool Performance Manager: Installation and Configuration Guide. Important: Technology packs do not work unless they are configured. Upgrade currently deployed UBA technology packs to 4.3-U or later: About this task To upgrade currently deployed UBA technology packs to 4.3-U or later, follow these steps: Procedure 1. Complete the pre-installation setup tasks, as described in the appropriate technology pack installation appendix proided in the IBM Tioli Netcool Performance Manager: Installation Guide. These setup tasks describe how to download the ProisoPackInstaller.jar file, any 4.3-U and later stand-alone JAR files, and the 4.3-U and later bundled JAR file. Important: Do not install any 4.3-U and later UBA technology packs yet. You are asked to install 4.3- U and later technology packs in STEP Make sure that you hae the aailable information described in Before you begin upgrade scenario 2 (UBA packs only) on page Open the Topology Editor. 4. Open a deployed topology (a topology.xml file). 5. After you click Finish the topology is displayed in the Topology Editor. 6. Load the UBA pack XSD file into the existing topology by following the instructions proided in the IBM Tioli Netcool/Proiso: Installation Guide. 7. In the Application Packs iew, right-click the Application Packs folder and select Associate components with new AP from the menu. Note: The technology pack XSD upgrade wizard is automatically started when you right-click the Application Packs folder and select Associate components with new AP from the menu. 8. Select a technology pack XSD file from the list of aailable technology packs. Note: The technology packs that display in this list are the 4.3-U and later packs you downloaded in STEP Click Next to continue. 10. The Create new AP from template and assign components window displays eery UBA collector subchannel that is not currently assigned to a technology pack. 44 IBM Tioli Netcool Performance Manager: Pack Upgrade Guide

53 Note: These UBA collectors were created in Tioli Netcool/Proiso MR1 or earlier, fix pack 1 or later, and When you upgrade to Tioli Netcool/Proiso fix pack 3 or Tioli Netcool Performance Manager, the UBA collectors are not associated with any currently deployed UBA technology packs. The create new AP from template and assign components window allows you to associate these UBA collectors with currently deployed pre-4.3-u technology packs. The new AP from template and assign components window displays the following fields: Create - A check box that directs the Topology Editor to associate the UBA collector listed in the Collector ID field with the XSD file associated with the technology pack selected from the Collector Template list. Collector ID - The list of UBA collector(s) that were added to the topology when you upgraded from Tioli Netcool/Proiso MR1 or earlier, fix pack 1 or later, or to Tioli Netcool/Proiso fix pack 3 or Tioli Netcool Performance Manager. For example: UBA If the technology pack you selected in STEP 8 has BLB (Bulk Load Balancer) and IF (Inentory File) components, this window displays only UBA collector subchannels that include the BLB and IF components. The Topology Editor does not display BLB/IF components in the Collector Template list because no technology pack XSD defines more than one BLB and IF. Note: These BLB and IF components were created in Tioli Netcool/Proiso MR1 or earlier, fix pack 1 or later, and When you upgrade to Tioli Netcool/Proiso fix pack 3 or Tioli Netcool Performance Manager, the BLB and IF components (and their associated UBA collectors) are not associated with any currently deployed UBA technology packs. The create new AP from template and assign components window allows you to associate these UBA collectors and their associated BLB and IF components with currently deployed pre-4.3-u technology packs. The Topology Editor automatically associates a UBA collector with its associated BLB and IF components when you load a technology pack XSD file that defines these components. 11. To associate a UBA collector with a UBA technology pack, follow these steps: a. Check the box in the Create field associated with a UBA collector subchannel listed in the Collector ID field. You must hae identified this UBA collector for a currently deployed pack, as described in Before you begin upgrading a currently deployed UBA technology pack to 4.3-U or later on page 36. b. Select a technology pack from the Collector Template list. You must hae identified this UBA pack, as described in Before you begin upgrading a currently deployed UBA technology pack to 4.3-U or later on page 36. c. Repeat STEP 11-a and STEP 11-b for each UBA collector subchannel you want to associate with a technology pack. d. Click Finish to continue. 12. Verify that each UBA collector is associated with the technology pack you selected in STEP 8. To do this, select technology packs iew in the Topology Editor. The UBA collector displays under the specified technology pack, for example: Collector UBA The Topology Editor also displays each UBA collector under the DataChannel x folder in the Logical iew. Highlight the collector to iew its properties. The Chapter 3. Upgrading technology packs on Tioli Netcool/Proiso fix pack 3 or Tioli Netcool Performance Manager 45

Note: You downloaded the 4.3-U or later ersion of the currently deployed pre-4.3-u technology pack or packs in STEP 1. Note: Because there is an existing UBA collector, you can skip the section that describes how to add UBA collectors. You associated these UBA collectors with pre-4.3-u technology packs in STEP Configure the UBA technology pack you upgraded, by referring to the configuration chapter in IBM Tioli Netcool Performance Manager: Installation and Configuration Guide. Note: Technology packs do not work unless they are configured. Table 15. Example mappings for Ciena Transmission Technology Pack dc.cfg file parameter UBA INSTANCES= streaming Topology Editor property INSTANCES= CIENA_DEVICE Comments The Topology Editor displays the INSTANCES property with a Green check mark icon and the alue as specified in the dc.cfg file. The INSTANCES parameter used to be an arbitrary string as illustrated by the string streaming specified in the dc.cfg file parameter. The conention now is to use a string that represents the name of the technology pack, as illustrated by the Topology Editor property alue, CIENA_DEVICE. Some more recent technology packs delier with template files that specify INSTANCES parameters with strings that represent the names of the technology packs. Note: The INSTANCES property is read-only. In this case, either alue - arbitrary string or pack name string - that the Topology Editor obtains from the dc.cfg file is alid. Note: It is not necessary to specify the channel number, collector number, and schema in the alues for the Topology Editor properties. Chapter 3. CEMS.URI =file:///export/ home/puser/ uba_files/ CEMS/input /*.cs The name of the Bulk Adaptor Design file (in this case, CienaAdaptor.js) must be the same in both the template file parameter and the Topology Editor property. Note: The DESIGNFILE property is read-only. The Topology Editor must display the URI property with a Green check mark icon and the alue as specified in the dc.cfg file, in this case a URL specification that directs the UBA to the location for the Bulk input files (in this case, *.cs files). The Topology Editor displays the URI property as read-only and its associated alue is a concatenation of the following properties defined in the pack XSD file: INPUT_USE_SECURE_FTP ($5) INPUT_FTP_HOST ($3) INPUT_FTP_USERNAME ($1) INPUT_FTP_PASSWORD ($2) INPUT_DIRECTORY ($4) Note: The alues ($1 through $5) specified here are taken from the Ciena Transmission Technology Pack XSD file to show the concatenation of properties. The Topology Editor must display the INPUT-related properties with Red X icons because the pack XSD file does not proide default alues for these properties. UBA streaming. DELETEONACQUIRE= false CIENA_DEVICE.CEMS. DELEATEONACQUIRE =false It is recommended that you specify alues for the INPUT-related properties using the guidelines proided by the Topology Editor Help. The Topology Editor must display the DELETEONACQUIRE property with a Green check mark icon and the alue as specified in the dc.cfg file, in this case the alue false. In this example, the DELETEONACQUIRE parameter in the dc.fg file and the Topology Editor property hae the same alue (false). This might not always be the case. The Topology Editor displays the DELETEONACQUIRE property as read/write. Therefore, you can change the alue of this property using the Topology Editor. 48 IBM Tioli Netcool Performance Manager: Pack Upgrade Guide
