19 Graduate Certificate (Clinical Nursing) Ostomy and Continence Stream This course is designed to build on the specialty knowledge and experience of registered nurses currently working in this area of professional practice. Emphasis is placed on developing students theoretical knowledge through evidence based practice. Internationally recognised nursing competencies are used as the basis for the professional portfolio each student demonstrates through the clinical practicum units. The course comprises 4 units of study which are studied over 2 semesters (7 months). Each semester comprises a theory unit and clinical practicum unit. Theory units are taught through a series of intensive workshops followed by tutorials. Specialists from Australia and Singapore will collaborate to present the latest information in evidence based practice. ENTRY REQUIREMENTS Graduate of a three year nursing diploma recognised by Curtin University; OR Graduate of a nursing diploma from the Nanyang Polytechnic or Ngee Ann Polytechnic Registered with the Singapore Nursing Board; AND Have at least 12 months relevant post-registration clinical experience in the speciality area; AND Minimum English language entry requirement IELTS 7.0 (no band less than 6.5) or equivalent.

22 Graduate Diploma (Clinical Nursing) Ostomy and Continence Stream This course offers those bachelor qualified registered nurses who have successfully completed the Graduate Certificate, to enrol and complete a further 4 units of study to obtain a Graduate Diploma. The 4 units of study are designed to develop further critical thinking and leadership skills for students, in preparation for completion of a masters. Units offered in this course include critical thinking and decision making, research methodology, the importance of safety and quality in health care delivery, developing leadership and managements skills within health care teams. This courses prepares students for leadership roles within this very specialised area of clinical practice. ENTRY REQUIREMENTS Graduate of a bachelor degree in nursing recognised by Curtin University; AND Registered with the Singapore Nursing Board; AND Have at least 12 months relevant post-registration clinical experience in the speciality area; AND Minimum English language entry requirement IELTS 7.0 (no band less than 6.5) or equivalent.
