4 Update on the EDC Internet Quick Reports (IQR) for US Data In California, records are available via IQR automatically within minutes after M>3.5 earthquakes, records with PGA> 0.5%g IQR were generated for 58 earthquakes in 2013, as of mid-september

12 VDC is Updated and Fully Integrated in CESMD VDC has been updated with: US data for earthquakes with M=>5.0 through 2013 Japan data for earthquakes with M=>6.0 and shallower than 100 km through mid-2012 New Zealand data for earthquakes with M=>5.0 through 2012

13 Data From Various Regions Downloaded Through VDC From 9/2012 to 9/2013 about 240,000 record channels were downloaded through the VDC website.

15 Virtual Data Center Operational Issues Becoming aware of new/updated datasets, records, and data organization/posting changes at strong-motion networks Incorporating changes made by data providers to parametric data, records and file pathnames Resources for developing software to convert data from additional seismic networks to a common format in order to upload parametric information and generate time history plots Providing data hosting for small networks

16 Recent updates to VDC Links Revisions were made to links at VDC to accommodate: Merging of Japan K-NET and KiK-net ftp site Relocation of data at the UNR data server Extensive revisions to both links and metadata at VDC are being made to accommodate recent significant updates to the New Zealand GNS Science network data, including the folder structure, file names, and parametric information in data files The cooperation of these networks in providing details about the changes is gratefully acknowledged.

17 Summary Preliminary version of ground and some structural strongmotion data from networks in California are automatically processed and posted to aid in rapid response to earthquakes New features have been added to facilitate data search The Strong-Motion Virtual Data Center (VDC) has been updated with the US, New Zealand, and Japan K-NET and KiK-net data Changes to UNR and Japan K-NET and KiK-net ftp servers have been accommodated in VDC Changes to data structure and data files at the New Zealand GNS Science ftp are being incorporated
