The example uses as the Web address for an example organization at University Park. Organizations that use in their Web address have "up" as their campus code. A fraternity with a Web address of has the directory path /clubs/up/aaa. The councils also have this distinction, (for example, IFC has the directory path /clubs/up/ifc/). 1. First you must install the Secure FTP client for Windows if you haven't already done so. You can download the client (part of the SSH Secure Shell program) from 2. SSH Secure File Transfer (SFTP) ships with "Default File Permission Mask" set to 644, and with "Default Directory Permission Mask" set to 755. NOTE: Changing these settings are necessary so that other Webmasters in your organization can change the files you upload. It is safe to use the new settings for files in your Personal Web space, and other files in your PASS space. Click the button to apply the changes. 6. Click the button.

In the dialog box, enter the following information: Host Name: sftp.clubs.psu.edu User Name: <your Penn State Access Account userid> Enter your information as shown, where xyz123 represents your Access Account userid. 8. Enter your password when prompted. 9. Your home directory (PASS space) appears. In this example xyz123's PASS space, looks like this:

Choose from the menu Enter /clubs/<your campus code>/<your group directory> for the folder/directory name. Enter as shown, but use <your campus code> rather than "up" if you are from another Penn State location. Use <your group directory> rather than clubs_example. If your organization does not have the campus code in its Web address, do not use it here. Note: /clubs/ is a shortcut for /.../dce.psu.edu/fs/services/www/clubs/wwwroot/. You can copy and paste files between Windows Explorer and the Secure FTP window. To do so, first start Windows Explorer and browse to the directory in which your files are located.

5 5 of 6 6/8/ :52 AM 13. Next, choose from the menu. This selects all of the files in the directory. 14. Then, choose from the menu. This copies the files you have selected to the clipboard. 15. Now, return to the Secure FTP window. Choose from the menu.

In addition to copy-and-paste, you also may click-and-drag between Windows Explorer and Secure FTP the same way you click-and-drag within Windows.
