8 REFERENCE PROJECTS Farnell Swoosh in a box Outside Farnell inside element14. Leading global distributor of electronic products Farnell is at the heart of element14, the new network for design engineers. The special challenge in coming up with the right trade fair stand was to combine the Farnell corporate design with the new element14 brand. The stand was conceived as an elegant box, open at the top. Visitors to Farnell enter into the new world of element14 where they are familiarised with the new corporate identity in a relaxed setting. A central design element is the multicoloured swoosh, which is dynamically integrated into the architecture, at the same time draws together the community themes and gently steers the visitor into the interior. 14

10 REFERENCE PROJECTS DELL Airy architecture Individual and dynamic just like the typical DELL customer this is how the company characterises itself. In order to reflect this image, the central architectural element is a long air-cushion pillow that seems to float freely through the exhibition stand whilst uniting the individual functional areas in elegant fashion. Communication areas and product islands are thus ideally configured for visitor flow. A separate floor area provides generous space for business discussions and events. Its location in one of the corners allows for optimum visitor flow between the product islands. 18

12 REFERENCE PROJECTS DuPont Concentrated minimalism Sheer beauty combined with high-performance features communicated by means of clear minimalism and the targeted use of light. The exhibits, which are themselves a component of modern trade fair architecture, are firmly integrated into the elements of the stand. Inviting visitors to linger awhile, the centrally positioned bar also serves as an info point. The floor area is encompassed by a portal that not only conveys a sense of security but also acts as projection screen for a multimedia corporate presentation, bringing the product to life. In order to make a visit as inviting and agreeable as possible, the stand is carefully configured to fit in with the natural traffic flow through the hall. 22

14 REFERENCE PROJECTS Miteco The look of precision The design concept for the Miteco stand impresses by virtue of simple elegance and distinct zoning. A clear and concise language of form dominates, yet the floor area presents itself as an open and inviting space for visitors. Architectural forms with strong powers of expression create excitement along with excellent scope for highlighting the Miteco corporate identity. The stand is enclosed by parapets that mark the boundaries whilst also serving as meeting points. Semi-open circular areas in the interior generate the requisite intimacy for private discussions without obstructing the product presentation. 26

16 REFERENCE PROJECTS ATOTECH Concentric facility The use of circular forms is a consistent characteristic of the architecture and of the elements deployed, including the product displays, the reception desks and the choice of furniture. Above the contact area hover a number of themed rings in different colours. They give structure to the individual product areas on the stand, which themselves revolve around the central Atotech core. The concept illustrates how product worlds can be presented with dynamism and facility without sacrificing clarity. Furthermore, visitors to the stand can readily find their way around thanks to the clear division into three zones. At the centre of the stand is a communication area and bar with an overhead banner graphic that both creates an inviting atmosphere and communicates the core theme within. 30

18 5 EXHIBITOR COMMENTS EXHIBITOR COMMENTS»The design concept was spot on!«ifat 2012 Now that IFAT 2012 is over and I am back from holiday, I want to officially express our gratitude to MEPLAN for having planned and delivered such a perfect project 380 m², a double-decker pavilion and an exterior area that invited visitors to spend more time with us. That was it in a nutshell. And our visitor numbers confirm that the whole concept was spot on. This year s IFAT helped us to position ourselves strongly in an increasingly globalised market. It raised our profile with our customers and enabled us to assert ourselves against our competitors. The discussions we had were overwhelmingly positive and have had successful outcomes. So a big thank you for that! From the first presentation through to the implementation even with individual requests at short notice the MEPLAN team delivered a highly professional trade fair presence for us and fully implemented all of our wishes. We are now looking forward to IFAT 2014, preferably with a 1,000 m² stand and hopefully with the MEPLAN professionals in charge.
