My invlvement in the Suth African Grid is t implement a HPC center at UCT and then t prvide training t site administratrs at the varius universities t implement their wn HPC centers and jin the natinal grid. I am a registered Register Authrity (RA) fr Suth Africa t issue certificates t HPC centers requesting t jin the Suth Africa HPC Grid. The authrizatin was granted by the INFN / cern.ch. Migratin frm PepleSft Campus Slutin 8.22 t PepleSft Campus Slutin 9, PT 8.49: August 2007 current: Currently I administer IBM AIX 5.3 Pwer 5 systems. In cnjunctin with this I am invlved in the PepleSft area and IBM DB2 UDB. I have been invlved in the upgrade frm PT822 t PT849 and then pst upgrade urgent Pepletls patches needed t be deplyed t cater fr the envirnment. I was respnsible fr rlling ut the PepleSft n the AIX platfrm with applicatin servers and prcess schedulers running n bth UNIX and MS Windws platfrms. Crystal Reprting was required at the University and therefre prcess schedulers needed t be installed n Windws.

7 Nvell Zenwrks: : Nagis / Cacti: 2005: I have cmpleted a full University campus rllut f the Nvell Zenwrks Desktp Imaging and wrkstatin remte cntrl. This was bth a challenging experience as the University culd nt affrd dwntime fr its cmputer labs and staff desktps. It was required f me t implement a slutin which had an easy migratin path frm the ld system t the new. Implemented a netwrk and systems management mnitring system. The system was designed as an interim systems mnitring slutin. The university restructured its ICT infrastructure t cater fr the implementatin f a new netwrk. Nagis and Cacti was able t assist until it was replaced by a mre rbust prprietary slutin. I was tasked t implement. The system was used t respnd practively and fr service level agreement reprts.
