I worked for 13 years as a hospital medical staff coordinator before venturing out on my own as a consultant, writer, and speaker. 2 LAURIE A. ADAMS Laurie Adams is the Credentialing Supervisor for UPMC Hamot in Erie, PA and has been in this position since March She currently institutes and coordinates the process of the Onboarding and credentialing of providers with various payers to insure that they are certified and approved by the plans, the start of the Medical Staff privilege process and submission of application, Medical Malpractice submission and HR clearances for every provider. Prior to this position, Laurie was been in the Healthcare organization since April Laurie is a Past-President for the Northwestern Pennsylvania Association of Medical Staff Services. She also serves at the State level currently as the Immediate Past President of PAMSS. She has served on the committee for the Contract Task Force, Revenue Cycle Management and also on the CEO Advisory Panel Credentialing Legislation Project. She has presented educational presentations for PAMSS, focusing on a variety of issues as well as presenting on Leadership skills. She is very passionate about her position and truly believes in the working relationship of all parties in the Credentialing arena. She most recently has been presenting Webinars with Team Med Global with Donna Goestenkors, President
3 Deborah L. Ormay brings over 20 years of managed care credentialing experience to this week s educational conference. She graduated in 1976 from Clarion State University with a B.S. in Special Education. Her introduction to credentialing began in June 1986 in her role as administrative assistant to the director of a Blue Cross-Blue Shield of Massachusetts (BCBSMA) staff-model HMO. During her 14 year tenure at BCBSMA she earned her CMSC and joined NAMSS and MAMSS. She held a variety of positions within BCBSMA, each becoming increasingly focused on managed care credentialing and culminating as Lead Exception Review Analyst. As Lead Exception Review Analyst, Deborah brought initial credentialing and recredentialing applications into compliance with NCQA standards by working with the applicants to obtain missing information or explanations for non-standard responses from primary sources. She worked for BCBSMA until August 2000, when she took a four year hiatus to earn a Master s degree. She resumed her credentialing career in August 2004 with UnitedHealth Group and became certified in 2005 as a CPCS. She earned her CPMSM in Deborah works as a National Account Manager for United s Delegation Relations Team where she has oversight of 53 delegates in a multi-state territory and assists the team s regulatory and accreditation survey manager. She resides in the Pittsburgh area, having relocated in 2011 from Massachusetts, where she lived for over 25 years. She serves her local community as the Chair of the Oakmont Carnegie Library Board of Directors. Deborah enjoys spending time with family and friends, reading, writing poetry, music, pets, gardening, and baking cheesecakes.
4 Mary Ellen Corum Graduated from Wharton School of Business Executive Healthcare program. She is the Director of Practice Economics and Payer Relations for the Pennsylvania Medical Society. As such, she provides regulatory, reimbursement, and practice management advice to PAMED members. In addition, she provides content for the PAMED website, publications, products and presentations. Ms. Corum represents PAMED in outside projects and initiatives with various stakeholders and government agencies. She also does public speaking at educational conferences and meetings.
5 Kimberly Martin Kimberly Martin is Vice President, Operations, for Novitas Solutions. Ms. Martin has 25 years of Medicare operations management experience. In her current role, Ms. Martin is responsible for Jurisdiction L and Jurisdiction H operational functions including mailroom intake and document prep, provider enrollment, EDI, and the customer contact center. In this capacity, Ms. Martin oversees over 500 employees in two locations. Ms. Martin is a Registered Coordinator with the Customer Operations Performance Center and holds an Associate s Certificate in Project Management from ESI International. Ms. Martin is a 1986 graduate of Millersville University earning a BA degree with a major in Management.
6 John Rossi, PharmD is Director of Pharmacy for Mount Nittany Medical Center, Mount Nittany Health System s 260-bed acute care facility. Dr. Rossi has been a registered pharmacist in Pennsylvania for 33 years. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from the University of Pittsburgh, an MBA from the Joseph M. Katz Graduate School of Business, University of Pittsburgh and a Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Illinois. He is a Board Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist and a member of the American College of Clinical Pharmacy, the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists and the Pennsylvania Society of Health-System Pharmacists.

8 Steven J. Scheinman, M.D. Steven J. Scheinman, M.D., president and dean of The Commonwealth Medical College (TCMC), is a respected physician, medical scientist, and national leader in academic medicine. Dr. Scheinman is a nephrologist who has made major contributions to our understanding of the molecular genetics of kidney stones and a range of diseases causing chronic renal failure. His group described the condition now known as Dent s disease and identified two of its causal genes. Before coming to TCMC in 2012, Dr. Scheinman spent most of his career at the SUNY Upstate Medical University where he had been professor of medicine and pharmacology and served for eight years as senior vice president and dean of the College of Medicine. He has published more than 80 peer-reviewed articles, reviews, and book chapters on topics related to kidney disease and genetics. For most of his career he was principal investigator on grants funded by the NIH, American Heart Association, and other agencies. He has been an invited speaker at numerous national and international meetings and a visiting professor at many prominent universities across the United States and abroad. Dr. Scheinman has served on review boards for the National Institutes of Health, American Society of Nephrology, American Federation for Clinical/Medical Research, American Heart Association, and National Kidney Foundation, among others. He is a fellow of the American College of Physicians and of the American Society of Nephrology, and is an elected member of the American Society for Clinical Investigation. He was a gubernatorial appointee to the New York State Council on Graduate Medical Education, and has served on a number of national boards related to medical education. He currently serves on the board of the National Resident Match Program and on Pennsylvania s Legislative Commission on the Physician Workforce. Dr. Scheinman is an advocate on healthcare workforce issues and matters affecting medical schools. Dr. Scheinman holds an A.B., summa cum laude, from Amherst College in Massachusetts and received his medical degree with honors from Yale University. He completed his postgraduate residency training in internal medicine at Yale-New Haven Hospital; was chief resident in internal medicine at Upstate; and completed fellowships in nephrology at Upstate Medical Center and Yale-New Haven Hospital. He was an attending physician at University Hospital, Crouse-Irving Memorial Hospital and Veterans Administration Medical Center in Syracuse, New York.
