1 CANADIAN HOSPITALITY FOUNDATION 2015 SCHOLARSHIP College Entrance Scholarship Areas of Studies: Accommodation, Chef, Cook, Culinary, Events, Pastry Chef, Food and Beverage, Golf Club, Hospitality, Hotel, Resort, Restaurant, Tourism, Catering Management Who Can Apply High school students in their final year of school and who are enrolling in September of this year in a minimum two-year college diploma program in one of the above mentioned areas of studies. Applicants must be Canadian Citizens or Landed Immigrants How to Apply Application forms are available at the College s Awards office (see list of participating colleges at Submit the completed form along with the following documents to the Awards Officer or your instructor. Missing, falsified or incomplete documents will be grounds for elimination: Application form: completed and signed (pen or typewritten only) Resumé Official Transcripts of Records: transcript from previous academic year and report card from your current academic year (photocopy, ed or faxed transcripts will NOT be accepted) Letter/s of recommendation from a current faculty member and/or school administrator must be signed and must include address, telephone and address (on official letterhead) Letter/s of recommendation from past or present employers (volunteer activities will also be considered) must be signed and must include address, telephone and address (on official letterhead). The Foundation reserves the right to check all references. Deadline for Submission Please kindly check with your school for deadline date. Criteria Applications are to be judged on the following criteria. Points assigned to each of the criteria (from a total of 100 points) are as follows:

2 Work experience (20): based on quality and length of work experience with extra points for foodservice, hospitality, and culinary-related experience and for increased levels of responsibility Scholarship record (20): based on grade point average Leadership and ability to get along with others (25): based on work experience, letters of reference and responses to application questions. Professional promise (25): based on work experience, letters of reference and responses to application questions Discretionary points (10): given to the discretion of each judge and based amongst other things on quality of application (neatness, imagination and effort put into the presentation). Payment of Scholarship Money The scholarship money will be paid in its entirety in November of the year the scholarship is awarded. The Foundation will seek confirmation of full-time enrollment from the college before payment is made. Payment is made directly to the college for credit towards the recipient s tuition fees. If the tuition fee has already been paid in full, the money will then be paid to the student by the college. Website Posting of Recipients The recipients list will be posted on the Foundation website by September of the year the scholarship is awarded.
