2 Overview The Channel Safety Systems Disabled Toilet alarm contractor Packs are an efficient way of purchasing a versatile and cost effective alarm system for use in a range of applications including Disabled Toilets. Each contractor pack is simplicity itself and is therefore fully self-contained with all components required to provide a simple to use facility that provides clear reassurance for the user. 3 Contractor Packs Each Contractor Pack contains the following. ECONOMY PACK 1 No CHDR/PSU/R 24 Volt Power Supply incorporating Reset Button, Indicator Lamp & Sounder. CHPC/R CHDWS call unit with reassurance light & Red Cord. Disabled WC Sticker. STANDARD PACK 1 No CHDR/PSU/PK 24 Volt Power Supply Unit. CHPC/R CHRS CHDWS call unit with reassurance light & Red Cord. Remote Reset push button. Red Lens Lamp unit with integral Sounder. Disabled WC Sticker. GOLD PACK 1 No CHDR/PSU/PK 24 Volt Power Supply Unit. CHPC/R CHRS/LU CHDWS call unit with reassurance light & Red Cord. Remote Reset push button with reassurance Light. Red Lens Lamp unit with integral Sounder. Disabled WC Sticker. 3

4 Installation A suitably qualified electrician should carry out all electrical installation works. To mount each unit remove the 3.5mm dia screws securing the front plate, break out the appropriate cable inlets in the back box and fixing screw holes. Use the back box as a template to mark the position of the fixing holes. Drill and plug to take No 8 screws (or equivalent). Each of the Contractor packs require a 230volt 50Hz a.c supply for operation, this should be fused at 2 Amps max. Each of the CHDR/PSU modules generate a 24-volt DC supply, this is the operating voltage for the system. Connect the 230volt 50Hz supply to the terminal block marked L, N and earth using a 3-core cable (max 1.5mm²). Interconnect the peripheral modules as per the attached relevant diagrams using 2/3- core wire (max 1mm²). Testing Installation I ECONOMY PACK Apply the mains power; the system should remain in the quiescent state with no indicators illuminated or sounders operating. Activate the CHPC/R pull cord unit and the reassurance light should illuminate on the module, the red indicator on the CHDR/PSU/R will illuminate and the integral sounder will operate. Press the black Reset Button on the CHDR/PSU/R and the system will return to the quiescent state. 4

5 STANDARD PACK Apply the mains power; the system should remain in the quiescent state with no indicators illuminated or sounders operating. Activate the CHPC/R pull cord unit and the reassurance light should illuminate on the module, the red indicator on the will illuminate and the integral sounder will operate. Press the black Reset Button on the CHRS and the system will return to the quiescent state. GOLD PACK Apply the mains power; the system should remain in the quiescent state with no indicators illuminated or sounders operating. Activate the CHPC/R pull cord unit and the reassurance light should illuminate on the module, the red indicator on the will illuminate and the integral sounder will operate. The reassurance light on the CHRS/LU should illuminate. Press the black Reset Button on the CHRS and the system will return to the quiescent state. 4 WAY INDICATOR UNIT When a multi-way system is required, a CHDTA/4 unit can be added, this unit gives an individual indicator for each system and incorporates an integral sounder. ADDITIONAL MODULES Additional modules can be added to the systems, up 4 pull cord units may be installed per reset point. A further Lamp/Buzzer, Lamp or Buzzer may also be added. Louder sounders and flashing beacons may be added subject to the load of these additional items. Please refer for full details. SPECIAL FINISHES The Channel range of Disabled Toilet Alarm Systems are available in stainless steel, brass and certain units can be supplied with an IP65 enclosure. Please refer for full details. 5
