QSL E30FB "During the DXpedition the team experienced computer and network issues that could not be resolved on site", M0URX reported on 11 April. "A few days ago the laptops arrived back in Japan and the team have managed to get the raw logs to me for inspection. Around 1,000 QSOs that were missing have been recovered so far. These QSOs have been added to the log. QSL requests for both direct and bureau have been matched to the new QSOs found". Tim is working to recover more QSOs. Check Club Log to see if your QSOs are there. The OQRS for direct and bureau cards is open: http://www.m0urx.com/eritrea_oqrs/. Yes, 2,700 cards that you have sent me should NOT have been sent. It is quite clear that many people are confused by OQRS, Bureau and Direct QSLing, which leads to a huge problem of Bureau Usage Abuse. Let me see if I can make it clear for you so that we can reduce this abuse and reduce costs within the bureau system, and also reduce the wasted time that is spent on sorting bureau cards and processing them". Read Tim's complete post on his website: http://www.m0urx.com/3-m0urx/596-bureau-abuse-responsible-qsling.html. "With that, the expedition has obtained its major components (team, transportation, finances), so preparations of facilities, equipment, and logistics will move forward". VP8SGI & VP8STI VP8STI and VP8SGI are the callsigns issued for the Intrepid- DX Group to use during their DXpedition to South Thule Island (South Sandwich) and South Georgia Island [425DXN 1241]. "To date, we have raised $90,000 towards our goal of raising $215,000. This puts us 40% of our target. We would welcome additional support from the many DX Clubs around the globe, particularly those in Europe and Asia who have not yet supported our efforts". The team has also annouced their "Early Donor program for donations prior to departure to the islands. For all donations of $25 or more, we will perform an early LoTW upload and we will include all $25 donors in the first batch of QSL processing".see http://www.intrepid-dx.com/vp8 for complete details.
