2 Dear Colleague, It is a pleasure to welcome you to the 2nd Annual Summit, the only event to focus exclusively on aiding managers and organisations to better understand how to realise the Nurse Practitioner role. With so much pressure on the healthcare system, the nation s GP clinics, emergency rooms and hospitals, organisations are increasingly looking to the role the Nurse Practitioner can play in increasing patient care. This event will demonstrate how Managers and Directors of a diverse number of organisations are embracing the Nurse Practitioner role and how best to overcome implementation and infrastructure challenges. Delegates will hear from the Department of Health and Ageing as to the current and future policy frameworks for Nurse Practitioners. They will also hear from the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency in regards to overcoming the challenges of the endorsement process. As well as hearing about the structure of payments and the inherent standardising and endorsing issues that come hand in hand with this, delegates will hear key case studies from clinicians in the field. The potential for Nurse Practitioners is huge. Managers considering implementing the role will learn about the complexities, benefits and successes of work being done now from leaders in the area. I look forward to meeting you at the event and wish you a very productive and informative few days. Best wishes, Emma Day Conference Producer Previous Delegate Feedback: The Nurse Practitioner role is still evolving and this conference facilitates innovative discussion.
