Request approval of the Technical Schools Financial Report found on page 15 listing total disbursements in the amount of $1,104, and funds available in the amount of $9,275, Communications 5. Personnel Actions It is recommended that the Board approve Technical Schools personnel actions as listed and authorize the administration to fill vacancies created through resignations, retirements and terminations as soon as practical: (A) Resignations/Retirements/Terminations James Van Vladricken Instructor Effective Date: June 23, 2014 Retirement, 14 years with DCIU Program Aston Juliana Atoo Adjunct Instructor Effective Date: April 1, 2014 Resigned Program LPN Program Anya Garland Secretary Effective Date: May 1, 2014 Resigned Program LPN Program Members of the DCIU/DCTS Board of Directors receive the agenda and supporting materials in advance of the meeting. They have reviewed the agenda and supporting materials, and have had opportunity to seek clarification on any and all items so that they are fully prepared to vote on the agenda items at the Board of Directors meeting.

2 DCAVTS Agenda -2- May 7, Personnel Actions (B) Appointments Eileen Dowrick Secretary Effective Date: May 28, 2014 Term of Contract: 12 month Salary: $27,700 per year Fill vacant position Program Aston Rock Durant Teacher Effective Date: April 7, 2014 Term of Contract: 10 month Salary: $53,927 per year Fill vacant position Program Aston Additional/Summer Assignments Kelly DeArros, Lead Teacher, to be paid per the Collective Bargaining Agreement, for for PIMS summer submission. Don Young, Teacher, to be paid per the Collective Bargaining Agreement, for up to five hours per week for supervision of students at Marple Education Center during the school year. Dennis Kossuth, Instructor, to be paid per the Collective Bargaining Agreement, for up to eight hours for working at the Ridley Health Awareness day. Kristen Pellegrino, Counselor, to be paid per the Collective Bargaining Agreement, for up to six hours to set up and participate in the National Technology Honor Society Induction. Richard Carruth, Instructor, to be paid per the Collective Bargaining Agreement, as a certified EMT Instructor, as needed, during the school year. Deborah Ulrich, Secretary to be paid per the Collective Bargaining Agreement, for substitute teacher responsibilities during the school year. Brian Swierczek, to be paid up to 100 hours, per the Collective Bargaining Agreement, to work in the warehouse for distribution and deliveries. Kristen Pellegrino, Counselor, to be paid for, per the Collective Bargaining Agreement, to review student applications during the summer. David Batory, Instructor, to be paid, per the Collective Bargaining Agreement, to work on the re-accreditation and curriculum development of PrintED certification during the school year. OTHER ITEMS Request approval of the following Technical Schools items. All contracts are subject to review and approval of the solicitor. (1) Amend contract with Nora Downey, Financial Aid Consultant to the Practical Nursing Program, for the school year for an additional 33 hours at a rate of $75.00 per hour not to exceed $2,475. The increase is due to the Federal Loan Program and an increase in the number of students requiring counseling regarding financial aid. (2) Contract with Kareemah Perry from June 23 June 27, 2014 to assist with supervision of campers, preparation, planning, and execution of Culinary Camp activities at the Marple Education Center at the rate of $7.96 per hour not to exceed 60 hours, totaling $

5 DCAVTS Agenda -5- May 7, 2014 (3) Agreement with Penn Delco School District for use of their auditorium for Practical Nursing Program graduation on July 24, 2014 at a cost not to exceed $250. The price includes a custodian, security guard and I.T. support. (4) Contract with Conrad Siegal Actuaries, through the Pennsylvania Trust, to provide actuarial services required of Other Post Employment Benefits (OPEB), as required by GASB 45, at a cost not to exceed $6,150. (5) Advertise to receive bids for materials, supplies, equipment, and contracted services as needed for all areas for the school year. (6) Field trip for seven students in the Intensive Learning Support class, and three adults to the Franklin Institute Science Museum in Philadelphia, PA on May 21, 2014 at a cost not to exceed $765. Student fundraising will be used to cover the cost of the trip. (7) Field trip for ninety-six students and seven advisors of the Skills USA Student Club Organization to Dorney Park in Allentown, PA on May 27, 2014 at a cost not to exceed $5,700. All expenses will be paid by the students. (8) Christopher Moritzen, Principal of the Aston Campus, to attend the USA Science and Engineering Festival on April 25 27, 2014, in Washington D.C. at a cost not to exceed $600. (9) Kathleen McNamara, Supervisor, Christine Bagley and Ellis LaFrance, Instructors to attend the certification simulation training at Drexel University May 19-23, 2014 in Philadelphia at an estimated total cost of $5,400. (10) Operate Career Heroes Summer Camps from June 23 June 27, 2014 at the Folcroft and Marple sites for students ages 11-14, at a cost per student of $175. Estimated total expenses are $31,731. Camps are as follows: COSMETOLOGY (Folcroft) Glam Squad Campers will explore all the aspects of the beauty industry. Learn the science and art of skin and hair care, while practicing hairstyling, braiding, makeup application, and skincare. CULINARY ARTS (Marple) League of Extraordinary Chefs Explore the science and art of cooking. Campers will practice culinary skills preparing fun one-pot entrees and baking a variety of breads, biscuits, pies and pastries. CULINARY ARTS (Folcroft) Culinary Creators Future chefs explore the world of culinary arts. This camp blends basic cooking skills with innovation and creativity as campers venture your way through baking, bread making and meal preparation.

6 DCAVTS Agenda -6- May 7, Other Business COMPUTER NETWORKING & DIGITAL FORENSICS (Folcroft) IT Adventurers Campers will explore the world of information technology and computer networking through the popular video game, Minecraft, and investigate the inner components of personal computers by assembling and disassembling personal computers. EMERGENCY & PROTECTIVE SERVICES (Folcroft) Jr. Emergency & Rescuers Experience basic training in emergency response and fire prevention. Fastpaced simulation set the stage for campers to practice communications, rescue operations, First Aid & CPR. CARPENTRY (Folcroft) Woodworkers Through hands-on nature and conservation projects, campers will create their own bird houses and explore woodworking and building projects. Campers will learn operations and safety of hand and power tools. 9. Next Meeting Date June 4, Adjournment
